Also, from last year’s cycle people were placed in ALs in a range of days but seemed to die ouy after May1-3rd

Ok so logically speaking:

When that R wave came up, it had people who interviewed from Sept -Dec and I believe a few ppl reported Rs who interviewed Feb or so.

Alot of us who haven’t gotten the AL email also interviewed within this timeframe. It would only make sense that they reviewed our app and decided to not R us or else we would have gotten the R during the previous wave. Speculation ~~~

Unless they did a re-review of apps after the R (again would be waste of time to review apps twice cuz of the whole pandemic and limited availability to meet)

It doesn’t make sense that their class is full since there were few acceptances after the April 30 deadline. A lot of people withdrew their acceptance from downstate. The only 2 people I know Personally that were accepted both withdrew.

If you get accepted off the AL, it will be 5days to PTE and I think CTE is mid July

I don’t think so. Theoretically everyone could be placed on the alt list. It’s not like there’s limited capacity on it..

I agree. If anything it makes more sense to put all the applicants they are not sure about on alternate list..
Trying to stay positive in thinking that there is no reason for them to delay rejections for an applicant who interviewed in Nov..

it's crazy in last years read they made the alternate list before april (March 29 a lot of people heard) and obviously once people dropped DS during traffic day then a lot of acceptances started going out... makes sense. But making an Alt list after traffic day all the way in May, like how would that have worked? haven't most people dropped DS if they don't want it

Yes, exactly. I really believe this was a soft rejection. They put so many people on this list with the class being full after traffic day. It makes ZERO sense to create an alternate list after April 30. We’re counting on people to drop their seats if they get accepted to another school off a waitlist.

Holding onto hope for that lol. It just doesn’t make sense because if it was going to be a rejection there was no reason why we wouldn’t have been in the previous massive R wave and if it was going to be an AL then there’s no reason why we wouldn’t have been emailed yesterday along with everyone else.
Then again, who knows what it’s going to be. This cycle is different

yea you're right there could be plenty of reasons, it was the same email as last year because they actually had to sign a form and send it back while we didn't need to. We had the yes/no within the portal for the Alt list. Laziness on their part i guess? but i'm hoping for the best, only thing i can do
