It's 250 for the Certification? thats crazy
Yup, I think it's because the courses are 1-on-1 to maintain social distancing so it's more expensive. I could be wrong, I've only done it once before but it was paid for by the company I worked for so not sure what it normally costs.

That’s ridiculous. It normally costs around $60. The fact that they want this and lab work to be considered for admissions from the AL is asinine, especially during this time.

No one really answered if we really needed to complete the whole checklist to actually be considered admissions from the AL. Did anyone get a clear answer from admissions?

I didn't receive a clear answer, but I think the reason the checklist is accessible by ALs is that people get off the AL all the way through the summer, up to the end of July and perhaps even the first week of August. Some of the stuff on this list is required for matriculation, and so they have it available for us to complete now in case you get off the AL on, say, July 25th or something.

However, I think as time goes on and we get deeper into the summer (late-June/July), they may give preference to those who have more of the checklist complete.

I hope it doesn’t go that far back!! My CTE date is early and DS is my first choice lol

Woah $250 for the BLS course? I registered for the course and the person told me it was $85. It was gonna take place online using zoom and that I would need to come in to do the hands-on portion once the pandemic is over. Did I register for the incorrect course?

I think the pricing is done by the people administering it, the ones near me just happen to be $250. Mind sharing where yours is haha, would love to do a cheaper one!

Or maybe I'm looking at the wrong course :X

Yeah, my center is in corona queens. I am not sure if by completing the online portion, we would get the certification. The instructor made it seem like it would not. I'll need to confirm with them. Honestly, this is a bit confusing. On the AHA website, I see a bunch of things students can buy which I don't even know if we need to buy them or if the required material is included in the $85 price tag. Ughhhh confusion level maxed out 🙁

Dont worry guys, I'm just super dumb lmao. Thought I clicked "BLS" but clicked "ACLS" apparently. Yeah the course near me is $80

I did the blended learning, where I took an online portion and then did the in-person skills session and the session was like 15 minutes. Did not buy any online materials apart from the 20-30$ online training. Skills session was about 60$. They happily accepted this. But I also live in CA so I am not sure of the differences.

Glad you said something, I was about to accidentally learn some advanced stuff unnecessarily and be out of a sweet 250.

Mine is also in Corona 😀

Did you guys register on the AHA website? I went to AHA website and found one provider on the list that gives a link to another website. It is $105 and looks like it's completely online (includes online modules, shipping and return shipping of the requirement). Not sure if that is acceptable.

Weird I got that email as well... it even says failure to select PTE or CTE may result in rescinding of my alternate offer.

Sent from my SM-G975U using SDN mobile

Umm did anyone who is an alternate just get an email about not picking PTE or CTE on CYMS tool!?!?!?! i don't see that anywhere I AM SO CONFUSED

you KNOW i just sent a strongly worded email inquiring 😡 they can't play with my feelings like this man

I’m thinking maybe that was supposed to be sent to accepted students? If they don’t send a follow up email ASAP, they’re going to be flooded with student emails tomorrow lol all asking the same thing

You know I was thinking the same thing... but they EXPLICITLY said "alternates" a few times within the email
