2019-2020 University of Houston

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is there anything in particular you're worried about? 😛

It's likely going to be maintaining satisfactory academic progress and not violating the school's policies, although it sounds like they haven't formally defined the conditions yet.
I figured it would have to do with completing required coursework, but was wondering if there were any other requirements like doing a certain amount of research or (since they are primary care focused) actually going into a primary care field. I'm interested in research and primary care, but what if my interests change? That's what I'm concerned about I guess.

Given that the school is aiming for a ~50% primary care rate and that the article claims it will fund the entire class, I doubt they would subsequently require students to go into a primary care field. Of course, we don't really know until they finalize the requirements, but if the scholarship were tied to anything in particular beyond attending the school, they probably would have mentioned it already.

I messaged tmdsas to add the school to my school list on friday morning and got a quick reply that it was added. This might sound dumb but does that mean my application was recieved or will I get a separate confirmation?

Just received and submitted the secondary!

Secondary received. Sent app on Friday at 10:30am, transmitted yesterday 7:30am. ORM, second career, low af MCAT, significant GPA improvement through SMP. There's hope after all :')

Just got a secondary, but I'm out of state, and they're only taking 30 students so that means.... 3 spots for out of staters at the most lmao. Should i even pay to send it in?

Are our letters already sent there or do we need to take any additional steps via interfolio?

Are they limiting the number of students who receive secondaries? I just got one and I wouldn't be surprised if a vast majority of people get a secondary (which happens at most medical schools).

Secondary received and submitted today 2/19. No essay questions, just a few certifications and electronic signature required

I emailed the adcom and they said it’s their policy they cannot take update letters, but you can talk about your recent activities during your interview

I've read previously on this thread that they don't take updates. but on the secondary there's a place to upload additional documents? I wonder what this is for if not for update letters.

Just received and submitted the secondary. My recommendation letter section says not received though? Did anyone else's secondary overview page say this too?

Secondary received and submitted. LM 62

I apologize for the overt neuroticism but I just wanna confirm that it’s too early to be panicking about not receiving yet right?

Just got the secondary, confused because I don't see any questions? Is it just certifications?

Yeah I feel that. I’m IS and from Houston, I feel like my EC’s align w the mission super well and mine was confirmed 9:30 on Friday as well :/ wishing the best of luck for the both of us

secondary received and submitted. OOS but should be IS. I retired from the military and currently live in Maryland. I was a Tx resident up until last year, but I wasn't going to move back to Tx until I hear about medical school. I am currently waitlisted at Howard University. My LM score is 64.

Texas is probably the #1 best state to be a resident of when applying to medical school. If medical school is your goal and this cycle doesn't work out, moving back might be a great option!

Just out of curiosity, why is the best state when applying to medical school? Is it because residents can take advantage of the TMDSAS and AMCAS?

Just got an email (10PM) that my application is complete and everything (letters and such) is checked green on the portal now. I guess they're working around the clock to get everyone's apps completed as soon as possible!

I would imagine that many of the processes are automated

Application transmitted on Monday, secondary received Tuesday, submitted secondary Tuesday night, application marked as complete Wednesday night.
