i

it says on their update as well as was mentioned throughout the interview day that its either a waitlist or acceptance lol, i dont think it's incorrect to state that.
Well starlord I hate to break it to you, but you are wrong. Having been waitlisted last year there is a Day in March when they formulate the waitlist when all those still on hold for acceptance are either put on the waitlist or reject. So you can go on hold for the whole year and then be rejected when the waitlist is formulated.

If you don't believe me go to any of the threads for the past 3 years at around mid march. Last year it was like March 16.

I mean thats just your experience along with a couple of other applicants. I'm directly quoting not only what the school itself is saying, but also what the director of admissions was saying. You are correct that you can be on hold until March and obviously rejected later on. I guess to clarify, im saying for now you're not rejected

Rejected this past Friday; complete 7/13. Kinda bummed bc Richmond looked like a cool city, gotta remember that rejection means an II for someone else though, good luck everyone!!
Post-interview?

All good! i was like damn you already interviewed and got a decision that’s insanely fast. For anyone who wants to know received an II here last Friday. Complete 7/22.
Did you have the file review is complete ? And when we’re the available dates.

The last message I remember was the Sub-Committee one. I actually took a mid-day nap and woke up to this invite in the evening LOL (pleasantly surprised). The first dates available were around when decisions can be released by MD schools. They continued into late Oct and early Nov.

My status changed from committee to sub-committee today...no idea what that means but maybe that means they are actually looking at my app. I am OOS complete 7/22

Just adding data points:
Complete: 8/20
Status changed from committee to Sub-committee today

They do but they have to be significant. For activities they need to be > 3 months
I just looked it up on their website. They say the update has to be requested by VCU, and that any unsolicited updates will be discarded.

That sounds like no?

Call and ask. They told me exactly what I just said. It has to be > 3 months on an activity and to send it to a particular person. So call.

They mentioned during the interview day that post-II updates are welcomed if it's something significant like a publication. I'm not sure about their feelings on pre-II updates though.

Their opinion is, like I said before, that if the activity is signifcant and greater than 3 months you can call ask ask for an email to send the update to. I was given an email, and told it would be added to my file.

I got my application received email the same day I submitted. And the portal link was sent it that same email. It had secondary application in the portal

Very excited to interview here! Anyone have any pointers about the MMI? Is the traditional interview portion open or closed file?

Also, do we get pen + paper during the interview? To write during the 2 min

The MMI was very relaxed! The interviewers were friendly and asked follow-up questions if you ran out of things to say. Every interview, including the "traditional" one, is closed file. All they have is your name.

I saw on the website that you can only send updates if approved by the admissions committee. Would it be worth requesting to send a LOR from a physician who teaches at VCU? Or would this just be annoying? I would send it through AMCAS.

Call and ask. Ask them not us.

I apologize if that came across as sassy or negative in any way. It truly was not my intention, but reading it back I see where you’re coming from. I really just meant to clarify my original question so someone could see it and potentially provide feedback. I’m feeling uncertain since this whole thing can be pretty intimidating, and some people may have insight from their experience or knowledge about admissions whether it be from an advisor, etc.

Yeah totally get it honestly I can see how mine came across as curt too. That is unfortunately the downfall of a text based only platform. But genuinely there is no downside to calling Ms. Gale, no one is going to ding you for having a very relevant question. Honestly I doubt one letter is going to change anyone’s decisions about you but you never know!! >0 are the odds

I recently interviewed here, and I really enjoyed the experience. I would love this school. I just had one complaint and that's that one of the interviewers made their evaluations obvious and unavoidably apparent on the counter in one of the MMI rooms. I saw a number circled from a previous interaction with the interviewer, and on a scale containing numbers 1-5, it was a 1. I felt that I had given a really good answer to that question, so this came as a shocking surprise to me and kind of threw me off. Do MMI scorers distill your entire conversation to a number between 1-5? Does the circled 1 mean I bombed that question to eternity?
Hopefully 1 is good, and 5 is bad, I guess.

1) This is peak neuroticism.
2) Has it occured to you that 1 could be the best possible score?
3) chill

Oh also -- your score at 1 station is NOT a good representation of how you did on the whole thing.

It has occurred to me that 1 could be the best possible score, and I am very much so hoping that that is the case, but since I don't know for sure, I will of course wonder. I just find it extremely annoying that an interviewer would be flaunting scores they'd already given.
I mean my guy or girl, you looked...

Idk I'm pretty chill around interviews, but it would definitely throw me a bit to be able to see my interviewer's feedback lol. @vomitcom, it's true that you really can't draw any conclusions from what you saw and that one station isn't a whole decision so don't freak out, but valid to be a little spooked!

Lmao 1 is the the best rating, they explained it during the post-mmi wrap up, relax my guy congrats on the great answer

I would be shocked if an interviewer actually rated in front of a student. Perhaps notes, but not an actual score. It's possible that could have been part of the station, see if you focused on the score and changed your attitude as a test.

No. It was def a score and not part of it.

Maybe? I was complete 7/10 and have not heard anything. I checked my status a couple of times, and it bounced between the "committee" and "subcommittee" review multiple times since then.
