Can I ask what the content of those emails related to? I am not asking the particulars, I just want to figure out if I should have received a similar correspondence because I have not received any communication other than Admin is trying to keep up and will be contactable from remote working places.

Subject line: Wayne State University School of Medicine Student ID and Access
Content: I'm pretty sure the email is for anyone who has been accepted. Basically they are sending our access ID and temporary password in order to be able to login to the WSU Academica portal. Here we will be able to view communications and complete additional financial aid requirements.
 
Looks like my financial aid package has been uploaded to my portal. Anyone else receive theirs yet?

It's not in the portal, it's in Academica! You have to log in using your AccessID I think it's called (letter,letter,####, for example, ab1234) that they email out to you. I got a message today saying that if you have not received that, they will send it out next week.

from what I know, you have time your 4th year to study abroad if that is what you wish.

I am not a current student, but I do know (directly from faculty) that there are opportunities during the last 2 years at least to rotate overseas or in Canada. I’m not sure for how long or any other details though.
 
for anyone else applying for the scholarships after the second look webinar- are the links they sent in the email working for you? Mine keep saying I can't access the form and I don't know if it's just me or not. thanks!

Nope they aren't working for me as well. Someone emailed admissions and was told that a new link will be sent tomorrow.

SAME! But yeah they’re only for the people invited to second look day. At first I thought only those that have more than one acceptance got invited to it, but I know people with multiple acceptances who didn’t get invited to it. So idk how Wayne decided who was allowed to be invited and thus apply for the scholarships. :/

That really frustrated me, too. I was accepted only 2 weeks before class started and was ineligible for any scholarships/financial aid b/c of it 🙁
But if you go to WSU's website and search in the financial aid tab, they have a general scholarship application you can fill out that gets sent to all scholarships available through WSU. It's worth a shot at least

What if one is on the waitlist? Also, I checked and there isn't a general scholarship app

It’s in Academica and the deadline to submit it was March 1 which I found out on February 29

From my understanding, anyone who submits a FAFSA and lists WSU is automatically considered for the large majority of the endowed and private scholarships. This is what the medical financial aid webpage seems to say, and also what I’ve heard from friends.

Also remember that most scholarships are given out on an annual basis, so you’ll be applying every winter for each year you’re in school.

It doesn't matter, I was WL for 7 months before getting accepted.

And yes, there are scholarships, and here they are :|

Is there an application to apply for those or are we automatically considered for them once we are accepted? Is there a date when they announce who receives any award? Thanks for sharing!

Yes if they are open still you can click on the scholarship you want to apply for and they will direct you to a site to make a general scholarship application. You may need a WSU access ID/password to get in but if you've been accepted already you should have it. I'm not sure when they will disburse the funds

The deadline for those was like Feb 29th though or somewhere close to that
 
Does wayne consider letter of intents? i know this probably been asked but i can only dig for so long

Does anyone know if they will get notification if a letter like this is uploaded to the portal? Or they will only know when they open your file (if they are interested in you.....).

I never got any notifications, or anything like that, even after I uploaded the letter.

I think they mean does the adcom get one. Like how do they know that this is now in your file. I personally think they do, like it'll give their adcom-side portal a notification or something

Does anyone know how Wayne handles pulling people off of the waitlist if they've PTEd at another school? Are you less likely to be accepted?
