Does anyone know how Wayne handles pulling people off of the waitlist if they've PTEd at another school? Are you less likely to be accepted?
I was wondering the same thing. Because if we have one acceptance to another school we have to choose PTE by April 30th, but I wasn't sure if it impacts our waitlist position.

Do you guys think the wait list movement will move tomorrow as people need to narrow their choices to 3 schools ? Or after April 30th ?

Been waitlisted , the wait is killing me

PTE does not influence waitlists at other schools. You just have to PTE for one school, but you can still be admitted off the waitlist at another school, and then PTE at that school if you’d rather

Hang it there, I am also in the same boat. Hoping majority of the waitlist movement will happen on 1st week of May. Considering they have already given 400 (352+) acceptance equally distributed among IS and OOS. Assuming a 40% dropout rate from current acceptance, so they still have 160 acceptance (based on last year’s stats) to be give out from now till June 15th. So, 160 out of 700 is really good odds, almost 25%. So, just wait it out. Good luck!

I got wl-ed 10 days after my interview and some people say that they probably didnt look at my application and auto wl-ed everyone. I just hope we all get through this with As in our hands tbh.

I also got waitlisted 2 weeks after my interview (Jan. 27th), who knows if they even looked at our applications. I just can’t imagine going through 700 pending applications and pick 160 people ( that too, acceptance trickle in stages). I am hoping there should be some kind of ranking, not strict 1 to 700 ranking. Absolutely no clue how they pick 160 out of 700, it’s a mystery!

Are there really 700 candidates on the waitlist?!

That makes sense, thank you! But do you think they can see that we planned to enroll at a different school? Not sure how this all works.

From my understanding , when you click plan to enroll to one school on April 30th , the other schools are notified that you’ve clicked either “PTE at their school or PTE at another school “ but it’s understandable that you would have to pick PTE to at least one school by April 30 to obide by the traffic guidelines , so I don’t think it would have an effect on waitlisted students . You can correct me if I’m wrong

But once we pick that one school and hold the waitlist spots , we have to withdraw from all other acceptance with the exception of the one we chose right ? And it’s only applicable to people with one or more acceptances right ?

Couldn't have explained it better myself 🙂

Sorry, I was not clear, these are people who are either waitlisted or not heard back from the school. I am not sure if Wayne gets back to all the applicants with a status (waitlist, reject or no answer). I heard it’s very rare to get a rejection before June 15th.

Thank you for clearing that up 🙂

Wow, 160/700 still not great odds :/ But yeah, I understand what you're saying.

I definitely hope that there are more acceptance offers that are made off the waitlist. I guess we can only wait this whole process out. I remember at my interview date that the dean mentioned that he was planning on sending like 600 to 700 acceptances (including the current 352+ current acceptances) so thats like another 300 some acceptances? But I think that would be because there are still some waitlist candidates and accepted candidates that end up withdrawing their acceptance even after getting off the waitlist from my understanding?

it still seems too good to be true, but hopefully that ends up happening .

600-700 wow! i certainly hope it works out like that

Hi guys! Currently waitlisted here, was wondering if anyone WLed have an idea of if we should submit fafsa asap? Is there any deadline that is Wayne specific that we need to be aware of? Thanks!

Got off the waitlist yesterday! They said I have 2 weeks to decide. Does anyone know what it means if I accept my offer? Is that binding?

Congrats! When were you waitlisted? I assume it's non-binding. You just have to adhere to the PTE deadline in 2 weeks.

Interviewed mid october and was waitlisted mid november. Does anyone know what the waitlist movement is like for those waitlisted earlier?

being a little bored with nothing to do (except study for finals but whats that even) and speculation of 600-700 acceptances total went ahead using the data from the interviewer tracker wayne has posted.

352 offers
1181 interviews complete

so 1181-352= 829 people who haven't heard back
i want to say like 829 people are all pretty much waitlist idk if wayne post-II R

so if wayne accepts 600 total then thats ~248/829 = 29.9% acceptance rate off WL
if wayne accepts 700 then ~348/829 = 41.9% acceptance rate off WL

or wayne could make ~570 offers like they did last year for ~220/829=26.5% acceptance rate off WL (as of current wayne reported data)

of course we could get WAYNE STATED in some weird way and end up with numbers crazy above or below these values

thanks for coming 2 my ted talk (i need help)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news... So tracker was last updated in February before march ppl interviewed and more ppl accepted. So acceptances could be almost 380+ atm and completed interview near 1300+, so spots left could be lower. 🙁

This is true, but lets all stay hopeful! Keep in mind, so many people are on the waitlist however not all are going to come to wayne...lots of people are likely accepted elsewhere. So the amount of people waiting may not be the full 700.

Hopefully WL movement in the next couple of weeks 🙂

I was told that Feb 14th was the last interview date.. not sure that more people interviewed in March? Although I am curious to see some updated numbers on that tracker!

Can any current student provide any information as to if a car is a must for Wayne State? Thanks so much!!

Clinical opportunities are going to be very close, Qline can take you downtown.
For 3rd and 4th potentially, 2nd clinicial placement may be farther away and require a car. Many students who live downtown carpool if they get placed farther away
