Interview waitlist. Canadian + no ties. 3.97 GPA + 518 MCAT.
HAHAHAhahahahahahaa 🙁

Hi everyone, I am a newbie with SDN. Can someone please clarify what a "Complete" date is? Is that the date when the secondary was submitted? Thanks.

Had my interview with about 14 other OOS students (at least 2 were international) at WVU today. Very laid back, we had an overview of the school, tour, lunch, followed by 2 interviews with faculty/adcom members. They had already reviewed our applications and asked questions based on what they read. Overall a great experience, hope you all get to interview here soon!

It was when the school emails you/changes status on their application site that "your file is complete". AKA all the letters, secondary apps, etc have been received and your app is ready for review. Anyone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

to the OOS ppl with IIs, do y'all have plans on how you're getting to Morgantown and finding a hotel/lodging? I'm having a hard time finding flights to Morgantown the day before my interview :/

There's technically an airport in Clarksburg, which is about 35 minutes from Morgantown. It's really small though and the ticket prices are pretty expensive. Best bet is fly to Pittsburgh and drive.

anyone know if WVU has student hosts or do people just stay in hotels/motels the night before?

They have student hosts! I stayed with one and would 10/10 recommend.
i want to do that as well, but i haven't got any info about that. is there a specific place to look? or do they send the info later?

MedStay! I loved hosting interviewees. I think you can ask to stay with a student and they'll find someone.

I interviewed here last week and it was a great day overall! The students were all very friendly and the atmosphere seems super collaborative. I don't like that they do H/P/F for preclinical years but lecture attendance isn't mandatory which I do like. The day itself starts at 10 am and ends whenever your last interview is over (sometime between 2:40-3:30 I believe). They cater lunch and you eat with MS3/MS4s and then they take you on a tour. They have really cool sim facilities. Anways, I'll likely be put on the WL bc I am OOS but I liked WVU a lot!

do most other schools just use a P/F system for preclinical years?

Hey guys, I've been working on and submitting my secondaries for in state and nearby state schools. Is it worth it at this point to still do my secondary for WVU considering I'm OOS w/ no ties? 508 MCAT, 3.2 BCPM, 3.73 SMP GPA. Thank you.

They’re scheduling into February now and have an 11% acceptance rate post interview for OOS. I’d say no but shoot your shot if you really want

A little late to the party, but received an II about two and a half weeks back, and app was complete about two and a half weeks before that (very impressed with WVU's app review turnover rate, compared to other schools). No ties to WV; will be interviewing in early December.

Very late on this, but received an II on 9/18. OOS, no ties, 508 MCAT and 3.68 GPA. From what I gather I should expect to be put on the waitlist after interview? Either way excited to interview, I really like the look of this school and its mission. Interview is for 1/24.

I stayed with a student host at my interview and they told me they cut the number of interviews significantly this year and the classes are all 50/50 IS/OOS. I would say don’t get your hopes too high, but it’s definitely possible to be outright accepted. Also have zero ties and I was really impressed on my interview day. Facilities/mission/students were amazing!

Waitlisted for II, complete 09/17

Does anyone know if they have a low, mid, high-priority waitlist like they did last year?

I just emailed them saying "I was placed on an interview waitlist this morning, I was wondering if you let me know whether I was on the low, mid or high-tier waitlist. Thank you very much"

She replied to me very quickly, placed on high-tier
Thank you !

Has anyone interviewed here yet? Mind sharing what the hospital tour was like?

I interviewed at the Charleston campus and I think we only toured the medical school campus and not the actual hospital, though it was directly adjacent to the campus. Sorry if that’s not much help.

Did you just use the "send email" function on the west virginia admissions website? or did you send to someone's personal email?

Anyone interviewing next Thursday 10/17 and wants to split a ride from Pittsburgh the day before (10/16)?
