Has anyone that applied for the Fort Collins branch interviewed or been accepted?
I applied to both branches and the rural program and haven't heard back about an II yet, but I wasn't complete until 9/14.Has anyone that applied for the Fort Collins branch interviewed or been accepted?
You have to be invited to complete a secondary. At an admission presentation they said they sent secondaries to around half or a little more.Wow more than 40% didn't complete their secondaries yet and it's late oct. I think this cycle will end up being about the same for Colorado since last year, they had about 8500 applications according to msar.
colorado screens so that may be the discrepancy in primary and secondary apps

I got a secondary from here about 10 days ago, and did not complete it yet. do you guys think its still worth completing or would it look bad by now?

Thanks for the info!CU Admissions presented at my school last night so I thought I'd share some of the information that I found super helpful. They already have 20-30% more apps this year than last year. Typically their students have 100 hrs of volunteering, 100 hrs (at least 6 months of research), and 100-200 hrs of clinical experience. They try to review chronologically but their reviewers are doctors so it may differ based on who you're assigned to. Their class is usually 50% IS. While he said they don't have a defined preference for IS last year only 10% of the applicant pool was IS and 50% of the class was IS. They typically accept 300-350. He said last year they only took some people from the top tier alt list but they have gone to the second tier.

He didn't give a lot of specifics, but he said that the admissions staff reviews primaries to determine if they invite you for a secondary. From there they send your application to reviewers (not sure how many) and do their best to review chronologically.Did they give you any intel as to how many people review each app or how they score/prioritize them? Like does one person do the initial "yes/no/maybe" for a given app and then have a few people look closer at secondaries? Or does each secondary only get reviewed by one of the team? I'm so curious how adcoms do their screenings, and I know it varies from school to school, but they are so tight-lipped about the process...
Congrats!! I'm fairly similar in stats (513, 3.97 cGPA) and also IS.IS II just now! 515 MCAT, 3.86 cGPA. Complete in July.

When were you complete in July? I was complete 7/23 and just was curious.
You definitely have to pay the deposit to hold your seat.to accept our offer and hold our seat do we have to do anything other than sign the technical standards and hit accept in the "offer response" tab? We don't have to pay the deposit, right?
i'm not paying the deposit now! it's seems pretty clear that they don't need it when we accept on the portal, they just need it later as a final sign of commitmentYou definitely have to pay the deposit to hold your seat.
"In order to accept the offer to matriculate and hold your seat in the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine Class of 2025 you must submit a $200 deposit by June 30, 2021. All deposits must come through the School of Medicine Admissions Office. When you matriculate, the deposit will be applied to the fall term for tuition, fees, or any other student obligations."
It’s not bad, everything is pretty laid back. The way the questions are asked isn’t very organic but overall I wouldn’t say it’s high stress or anything to worry about!Hi guys - how was the general vibe of the interview? I'm getting conflicting responses so I wanted to confirm with those that had interviews this year!
Are the individual interviews also open or closed file? How was the mood of the individual interview? Also kind of worried for those 'gunners' within the group interview/activity since this is virtual...
what could have gone better? anything that made it not as good as other interviews?Yeah same. I thought my interview went okay, but definitely not great by any means. I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting the A...

oh sorry, i must've missed it. but thanks for reiterating. that sounds terrible lol. i guess you just gotta try to remember that they are probably like that with every candidate?I talked about it a few posts ago. But generally I just thought the vibe of the individual interview was very uncomfortable. The person interviewing me was robotic in asking questions, and after I answered it to the best of my ability, they just started asking the next one. Really different from my other interviews, and not conversational at all.

I have not received a secondary. I was completed 10/7 so I know it’s not that’s much time but wondering if I should just accept it as a R
I haven't received one yet either. I completed mine mid-September and have meh stats (3.23 GPA and 502 MCAT). I emailed them a bit ago and they said that since the secondary applications are sent on a rolling basis that you could receive it anytime before the end date of secondaries (12/31/2020)I have not received a secondary. I agree with this 100%. I went in pretty relaxed but got more stressed as time went on because they wouldn't give me any feedback on my answers. Usually they at least comment "Oh that is an interesting experience" but they would just jot down some notes and move on. Glad to hear other people had similar experiences and it wasn't just me/my answers.I talked about it a few posts ago.
