2020-2021 Creighton

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
any advice from those who interviewed? i have mine coming up soon. please PM me! i would greatly appreciate it. thanks!!

I think most people agree when they say it was more conversational than anything. I literally just talked to the interviewer about my application then got asked like three list questions (healthcare, diversity, etc.) at the end lol. My student interviewer was also really nice. She asked me like 5-6 listed questions then gave me an opportunity to ask questions, but she followed up on them and didn't just go on to the next one (made it seem somewhat conversational). Both are open-file. I would recommend to be prepared to answer basic questions like name a time you had disagreed with someone, etc. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Does any admitted students know Creighton's pass no pass policy for prerequisite courses taken during the pandemic (including this semester)? I'm asking this for the final transcript. We have the option to choose pass/no pass for our classes and I'm wondering if I should take one of the required English/Writing courses pass no pass?

I have conditional accept and the document says “successfully complete additional coursework with a grade of B or higher.”

you should contact them because they are very responsive, understanding and helpful

where was your conditional accept located?? Like what specific document?

Mine only says "completed to the satisfaction of that program and the Director of Admissions at a grade level similar to your present grade-point-average"

I submitted 10/5 interviewed week of 10/30, haven’t seen a change to my portal. I will be on the lookout now though. Congratulations to everyone who received an A!

interesting. im not catholic and never went to a jesuit institution so i hope that they dont heavily select for those things. interviewing soon...

If you got an interview I wouldn't worry. I doubt they're selecting for undergraduate school post-interview

I personally do not identify with Catholicism. The only time it came up was when I mentioned how Jesuit values of service and magis (ie learning and exploring more) are universal values that all people should strive towards, regardless of religion

in the interview, do they ask you anything about religion or Jesuit beliefs?

I got an A on Oct 23rd and I did not attend a jesuit or catholic school at any point in my life.

Received a II earlier today. Complete 9/24 with a LM of 68. There were interview dates available for next week and the first of December.

Hi all, I recently interviewed here and although I felt that the student interview went really well, I did not feel so great about the faculty interview. I felt as though the faculty member was not interested in any answers I said that were longer than a few sentences and I got grilled on some parts of my application (my stats are slightly below the average). The faculty also brought up my lack of primary care shadowing and said that I should do some and send an update letter, though I have 600+ clinical hours from my current job. Has anyone had a similar experience/ know how much weight these interviews hold? Not feeling super great :-/

For those of you who have received a decision the past few Mondays- is there a change in the text on the homepage of the portal a few days before?

the “check status” page for me was essentially wiped clean except for the upload materials section and the letters section (?) on the thursday before! the thank you/wait 4-6 weeks paragraph was gone!

I had only about 40 hours of shadowing between general surgery and then ER and got accepted with their first group. I didn't have nearly the clinical hours but its hard to compare. THey really focus on if you match their mission so if you do, theres a chance!

Does anyone know if they prefer one update letter or for the updates to be uploaded in separate documents? In the portal, it seems most suggestive of uploading separate documents for each type of activity, but that would be a lot of updates. If one update letter is okay though, where would that be uploaded?

my thank you for interviewing on the portal is clear! should I expect to hear something on monday?
same...I don't know how to feel. I felt good about the interviews but now I am going back into my head and looking for ways I could have messed it up.
