I'm just wondering does anyone have an idea about how many people are in each tier of the waitlist? I'm in the middle tier and I saw earlier that there were 18 seats in that facebook group. I feel like the anxiety about the unknown is getting to me and I guess I'm just nervous if I have a chance
I’d guess 25 if they have a top 25 section.

I agree with premed0516. I imagine it is 100 total on the WL.

Maybe then they’ll shift people from the waitlist to the class after those who had A’s make their decision on the class.

...so I wonder where that puts the Jan interviewers? Do we get our own spot per say?

I’m just nervous. This is a ridiculous process overall - pandemic or not.

I bet it will be one review. For example, they’ll know on the 4th hose who aren’t putting a deposit. Then they will know how many “surplus” As they have. They will then probably bunch the Jan interviewees into groups. For example, 1)Accept 2) Compare to WL 3)WL 4)Reject.

They will then update everyone sometime next week. There will be some who come off the WL and get and A and some who get pushed down or up a tier.

Do you think they'd push people up or down within the tier, or do you think they would move some to a new tier all together? Also would someone on the low tier receive a rejection if they were pushed down completely?

I think the Jan interviewees would be integrated into the preexisting waitlist. Some would be accepted, some would be in the high tier, middle and low. But I don't think anyone in the low tier will be pushed down. I just think there are going to be more people in the waitlist. That's just my opinion though, I would be wrong.

Oh ok, that makes sense. So if we are assuming that there are 100 on the waitlist currently, would that mean that the waitlist could potentially double in size? Or do you think there will be way less people from the January interviews being placed on the waitlist and most will either be acceptances or rejections?

Just trying to mentally prepare myself for all possibilities come Monday lol

Hey team,

I interviewed on the 19th of Jan. I thought my interview went well, but my stats are lower than average, so I've been extremely nervous the last several weeks. I found SDN last night, and I've gotta say...it's good to know that I'm not going through this alone!
I'm hoping the best for each and every one of you, and I hope to have some of you as classmates in the fall!!! :xf:

I interviewed the same week as you and can confirm that, despite my best attempts at quelling any neuroticism and hypercritical post-interview analysis, I have also fallen prey to the jitters. We're both in the same boat in terms of lower stats and a relatively optimistic interview (as far as we know) experience. Though I've never felt that I'm the only one suffering from the same dreadful waiting, it is encouraging to be amongst those with similar circumstances. Wishing you the best of luck!

Does anyone remember what they said about tests and frequency of tests? I know we are quizzed as we go along in the curriculum but I can't remember what they said or where I can find the answer.

If it makes anyone feel better, I thought my interview went awful and I still got an A. My interviewer opened up with a question about the most important/emphasized topic on my personal statement and I responded with “oh yeah hahaha that’s cool and I like it” and we moved on. Worst start possible and first impressions are very tough to overcome. It went awful from my POV and the more I thought about it afterwards the worse I felt. Clearly it isn’t all about the interview itself so don’t get hung up on it.

If this isn’t too personal, what were your stats? Maybe your numbers were pretty good.

If you haven't found it by now, there is a discussion on exams in the Q&A session on 10/12, at about 39:40 (40:30 specifically talks about "Midterms").

Yeah. That is what I’m hoping.

I wish I can go back in time and kick my past self in the face for screwing up my record.

...but the damage has been already done.
damage makes you rebuild yourself. can’t be whole again if you’ve never been broken 🤷🏻‍♀️ Therefore you obviously have improved and have the skills to keep building yourself up

True. Experience and mistakes are the best teachers...unfortunately.

Interviewed Jan 19, just legal status info.
I would take that as a good sign. If they were going to give you a R, they probably won’t have check that info.

on a side note for everyone else, this probably means they are doing the application review for the January interview groups. Hopefully we will all get some good news early in the week

I remember reading something about your last 60 credits being a separate metric that they looked at as well. After my freshman year in '08, I had something like a 1.6, but my last 60 credits were close to a 3.6. I'm reeeeeally hoping that that looks good, and the upward trend will help me out in the end.
Don't kick yourself, you're who you are now because of who you were back then!

I hate to be negative but I don’t think they put a lot of weight into this metric.

My UG was 2.4. Last 80 credits including a SMP was 3.8. MCAT was 501. 40k hours of HCE. Denied pre-secondary. I thought my last sixty would at least get me over the hump but nope.
I'm sorry to hear that. I had a 2.99 cGPA, 3.2sGPA and a 501 MCAT, but I was offered an interview. Fingers crossed for you elsewhere.

It could be as simple as your PS & activity descriptions didn’t wow them. Also, I thought it was the last 60 hrs of UG, which would exclude your SMP for cut off purposes. With 40K of healthcare experience, I’m guessing you are a very mature applicant. A full time year of work is around 2K hrs, which implies you have been in a HC field for 20 years already, which could play against you, ironically. Lots of factors to consider when a school screens pre-secondary. I wish you the best, keep your head up!

Not trying to be arrogant but it definitely was not my activities or how I described them. My PS? Yeah, maybe. I could buy that. And correct, sixteen years at 50 hours a week. Paramedic. Multiple clinical settings.

And I wonder the same thing, regarding age. Either way I don’t hold grudges. Or animosity. It’s a bizarre process. I just hope everyone on here does well and gets where they want to be.
100%. People get rejected who shouldn't and people get in who shouldn't.

Not to mention the mission fo a school and culture can be a big part of that.

I would think more healthcare experience should be a bigger indicator of acceptance.

Med school admissions is a crapshoot.

You’d think but I know someone who has been a PA in a rural ER for like a decade, front lines of COVID and he still hasn’t gotten a single interview after more than one cycle. And he’s an awesome person.

I think it’s probably easier to learn clinical medicine. The grind of medical school and boards and such is more related to academics. Maybe. But if @Noorda-COM Admissions wants to talk and reconsider, PM me! LOL.
True.

That being said, not everybody has sterling academics (i.e. me).
