any current students have any insight about the priority waitlist for this cycle? checked previous threads but there was a lot of confusion about it.

There was no reported movement last year. It was not good.

thanks. still would like to hear from a current student that knows more about this though because apparently this list didn't exist last year but it did a few cycles back.

So sorry — missed u said priority. You’re right they didn’t have it last year. This is what my m1 rush friend just said about waitlist “No I don’t! I didn’t think rush offered a lot of waitlist spots”

Just got the II. Complete 8/26. Earliest dates in december every wednesday except christmas
Quick update. I put myself on a waitlist for an earlier interview date, and ended up interviewing on 11/18 (was originally scheduled for 12/02)

In case anyone is curious, I just realized I sent Rush a pre-II update about a week before they offered an interview. N=1, but if you genuinely have something to update them about, I say send it.
Did you just upload it to the portal? What "Tag" did you use? (i.e. Narrative, Letter of Interest, Transcript, other)

How formal are all of your updates? I'm confused whether to write eloquently and emphasize each update's association with the school/medicine or to just straightforwardly get the point across in a couple sentences.

Straightforwardly get the point across in a couple sentences. These readers are going through thousands of apps I promise you if you send them a newspaper article they’re just simply not gonna read it.

I uploaded it to the portal. It was "significant update and additional letter of rec"

anyone know what a "narrative" under the update file types is? if I would like to submit a letter of interest/updates (pre-II), I should just use the letter of interest categorization right?

(I promise you it really doesn’t matter and the same person will probably see all of them)

I need some inspiration... I have a low LM, so is there someone in a similar situation who has gotten an II that wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks in advance

What? Not to be a weird forum creeper, but don't you have an acceptance to Illinois? Because if so, that's pretty inspiring lol!
Hahahah I do and I am SO thankful! I would also love to inspire others out there! I just have personal reasons as far as school location goes and I'm still exploring other options that may be a better fit for me

Gotcha, that's totally fair -- I'm just being a clown! And maybe it's only my laptop being wacky (I could use it to fry an egg right now), but you might want to put your LM in your signature if you haven't already

You're totally fine! And nope, it's my lack of tech skills, I really do need to add a signature! Hahahah my LM is 64

do town halls have any bearing on IIs/admission?
Sorry should have specified- it’s an admitted student town hall. From what I remember from the initial email, Rush does monthly town hall meetings with incoming students, admissions members and current students to establish contact with fellow classmates, ask questions about current goings on at Rush, etc.

Something to look forward to for those interviewing now! It feels like Rush really values student feedback and keeping people up to date (although that’s just my 2c from interview day and correspondence).
