CURRENT STUDENTS - is on-campus housing available for all four years (is it guaranteed?) and how much does it cost (estimates ok)?

I cannot seem to find this anywhere online.

I just got placed on priority alternate list. Anyone know how much movement this gets?
Typically, this is the only list that gets movement. The hypothesis for this cycle is that it will get a lot of movement, but we do not know for sure. Send an LOI in April though! When did you interview?

I interviewed the end of Jan

When a current student randomly looks at your profile on LinkedIn...decisions coming soon? I’m scared. Mid-January interviewee.

I am so scared that all of us that are still waiting from December are just going to get waitlisted/rejected. Dean Heinrich would have called us by now I feel.

I was thinking this, but also there haven't been any As posted in this thread in a long time, so I think maybe he just hasn't made the calls yet?? Hopeful for this weekend

I agree that it looks like they're just running behind on the wave of upcoming A's. I wouldn't worry yet, and I'm a late January interviewer myself.

Not to be that neurotic pre-med, but the facebook group keeps adding about 3-5 people every week or two.

Not sure why you would torture yourself with that information? for the NJMS facebook class of 2023, there are 435 members so...

Does anyone know if late interviews here correspond to interviewing for The waitlist? Just trying to mentally prepare myself lol

Where did you see this on the website? I just looked and from what I can tell, it still says that they do rolling admissions:

NJMS is rolling RWJ not rolling

Can someone clarify the differences between rolling and non-rolling admissions, and why this distinction is significant?

Hi! If there are any current (or past) NJMS students here that could answer a few questions - I'd love your input. I'm so excited about the school and hoping to learn more.

  1. Is housing available to NJMS students for all 4 years and what is the cost of on campus housing?
  2. What type of housing would people recommend for those who want to live in Newark? Student housing or off-campus?
  3. Are there options to do rotations at other schools or hospitals not affiliated with NJMS?
  4. Does financial aid at NJMS cover housing and/or transportation or do you need private loans for this? Are you happy with the financial aid you have received here?
  5. When do extracurricular activities happen (clubs, student run clinics)? Are they scattered throughout the week or do they have specific times (e.g. mornings, evenings, weekends)?
  6. How many weekends per year do you spend on campus or doing med school related activities?

Thank you!

Oh shoot, i didn't realize these dudes were still sending interview invites. Got it earlier today, complete all the way back on 07/19/20 lol
LOL re your signature - I started Attack on Titan on Sunday and I'm on season three now....

Shall I reach out to them to follow up on my application status? Completed 7/21 but didn't not receive the completion email in Oct until I emailed the admission office... Kinda worried that they overlooked my app again...

Tbh you got nothing to lose and everything to gain so why not?

anyone know the process (if there is) to switch over to instate tuition? do they offer any lenience to the tristate area?

Okay well Dr. Heinrich said somewhere between 20k-27k and he said it was for instate. If you don’t believe that’s your choice but I’m just relaying what I was told.
Not sure if you were being offered some sort of additional aid that would grant you a lower cost (if so, congrats!), but in-state tuition is $43,345/year: New Jersey Medical School - Scarlet Hub

for all previously interviewed applicants, how long was your student interview?

maybe it's that the aid itself is 20-27k? so you'd go from ~67k OOS to ~43k IS. congrats!

I think he meant that by letting you pay instate tuition you would save 20-27k compared to paying OOS rate.
