Hold. Until mid-February really feels like a rejection to me

Unbelievably bummed. Only thing I've heard yet all cycle. 3.9+ 52+ in-state, pretty good ecs.

Wow applying to med school sucks.

do they send emails for holds or just for II?

This is the hold one. I could already tell it was not positive from the tagline.

Hold. OOS, no ties, complete 7/12. 3.98 522 good ECs

Does UCSD not really straight-up reject many applicants either? Maybe being on hold is at least a sign we don't have any glaring weaknesses or red flags in our app compared to being rejected off the bat?

they might be holding Rs for later?

UCSD historically doesn't reject until the following March judging from past years.

Hold, IS, ORM, Trad.
After II from UCLA, seems like I messed up something on the UCSD secondary.
C'est la vie

Do they actually bother rejecting anyone or just place everyone on hold?
I think it's fair to say that somewhere around half of all applicants are put on hold. It is a vast number, which is why it's realistic to consider it an R and move on. Easier said than done, I know from experience (times 3, now). I would prefer large swaths of rejections and a small hold pool, but that is not UCSD's style.

Crickets for me. Was complete 7/21 (although I did apply for PRIME).

When did you guys get the holds? I have nothing from them yet, IS LM 78, good ecs submitted 7/29

I've got nothing... Is it dependent on the secondary submission date or when the whole application was complete? (LOR submitted later)

Got my good good soft-R today around 4pm pst. I had my secondary in within like 3-5 days after receiving it on transmission day though.
