Has anyone been rejected after getting the File Review Complete status?

I just spoke to the admissions office and for anyone who interviewed 9/15 and their portal hasn't changed yet it's because they can't meet to score us yet. Apparently a particular interviewer from that day incorrectly/had difficulty putting in his/her comments/scores. So anyone who had that interviewer cannot be reviewed and scored until adcoms resolve that problem. Hope this helps for anyone else who may have been confused!

Just received a II last night! Earliest available interview date for me was in January.

For all the stat goblins out there:
OOS, GPA 3.9, MCAT 512, ECs meh to good, was complete in late July I believe.

Thanks for updating us, appreciate it!

How long does it take to get the VCU email that my app is complete? I submitted secondaries mid August but I didn't even get a single email that my app is complete even though on their portal it says that it is. Can anyone enlighten me how their process works? Cuz I got app complete email from almost all schools I submitted secondaries at immediately.

Has anyone gotten rejected after making it to the sub-committee?

I'm curious, does anyone know what the earliest interview dates were for those who received an II this week?

i have been on member of the committee since 8/3... how long did it take you guys to reach sub committee?

anybody complete early august hear back? sorry if this was addressed, i am new to the forums.

damn, this wave of Rs is scaring me lol. I wonder if VCU is the next BU in terms of chopping everyone off pre-II lol

I went from “member of the committee” to “subcommittee” within like a week, if not sooner. Then went from that to “the admissions committee” after another few days, and now I’ve been stuck there since late July.

+1

I’ve been stuck on “member of the committee” since I submitted in late July, and it looks like their interviews are into February by now. Well at least I didn’t have to pay the secondary fee lol.

hello i just got to this thread and am confused as to what this means:

"Your M.D. file is now complete. A member of the committee will do a review of your application. This review is done to determine your qualifications for a potential interview invitation. Once this review is complete, you will receive a status update regarding your profile. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE."

should i expect to be on this message for a good bit? will it change to subcommittee?

Edit: disregard this misinformed panic

What is happening? I just got an email notice that my status had changed. Went on to the portal and there's a really big message there. I'm honestly not sure when this was posted or what the status was before bc I barely have time for this school but here is the message:

Your File Review is now complete. If you are granted an interview, you will receive a status update on your applicant portal. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates.

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (VCU SOM) is now incorporating the American Professional Health Sciences (CSP10101) CASPer test as a part of its holistic review process. All applicants wishing to be considered at VCU SOM are required to complete this assessment in addition to the AMCAS application. For the 2021 cycle, Casper results will be utilized as part of the decision to extend interview invitations. Test dates can be found at CASPer test dates and fees - CASPer. To sign up for CASPer, go to www.takecasper.com

Does anyone know when they made CASPER a requirement?? It was not on my initial Casper list so did they literally just add it minutes ago or was this posted a long time ago? How can they extend some people interviews but now suddenly in the middle of a cycle they need Casper to continue screenings applicants?

In summary, what the heck is happening
I just went on my casper account and I had my results sent to VCU. I took it in July, so I guess it was on the list when I signed up. However, I don't think I saw that message on my portal ever (I got an II so now it shows that).

They didn't just add it, when I took the CASPER in July I had it on my list.

Oh oops they must have always used it. I also had it on my list I must have skipped over it in my panicked confusion and assumed this was like a new requirement lol. Ok thank you. I guess this means I just now got complete?

Not complete, but they completed reviewing your application. I got my II the day after getting this update so you may likely hear a decision soon.

Congratz on ur hopefully an II. When were you complete?
Haha you guys are getting my hopes up 😳
I submitted my secondary 7/23 (OOS, LM 71). I can't see any other updates on my portal but I have an automatic email from them on 7/24 so I guess that's my complete date? I'd be shocked as I applied last cycle and was rejected quickly here lol. Have you had any portal updates? When did you submit/what does your portal say now?

Mine still says complete... admission committee will review.. blah blah blah.
I was complete 8/13 tho so... a friend complete 8/9 got rejected, someone complete 8/14 got rejected. Maybe its random order. Maybe not. just out here waiting on my destiny.
