+1 WL. Just sent in an update letter/letter of interest a couple of days ago. Hopefully that gets considered. Is there much movement on GUSOM waitlists? Feeling pretty demoralized going into Christmas since I thought my interview went really well and have expressed my top desire to go here.

Does anyone know what Georgetown's WL movement is like? I see a lot of people were WL'd and a lot of people got A's without sending any letters, so idk if it's even worth writing a LOI/update letter
 
Got an II on Dec. 20th!!!! Hopefully, this gives anybody else still waiting some hope.

I spoke to an M1 at Georgetown a few months ago and he said that a large portion of the class had been from the waitlist 🙂 I’m not sure what percentage or ratio it comes out to be with regards to the total number of people on the waitlist but there is definitely hope! Wishing you the best of luck!!
 
Got the A on Monday after sending a total of 3 updates (including LOI) periodically through the cycle since my II invite on 8/24. To those wondering whether to send updates, I really do think it made the difference for me between A and WL- as it conveyed a continual and sincere interest in GUSOM. Their adcom seems to be very responsive to specific evidence that you WILL choose to attend if accepted. Hope that's helpful and good luck to everyone still waiting on a decision 🙂 This cycle has truly been such an emotional roller coaster (for me at least) and just wanted to empower those who are still trying to get that A. It’s not over until it’s over, and as applicants we actually might have more agency than we think to influence our admissions decisions 😀 Merry Christmas to all and happy holidays 🎄

Congrats. Did you address your letter of intent to the dean or the whole admissions committe? Or maybe both? Thanks
 
Has anyone who interviewed the first week of October NOT heard back yet? Getting a little nervous since this'll be week 13 post-II for me :shrug:
 
does Georgetown also have a day that the committee meets each week and releases decisions? or is it mostly random?
 
This is kind of ridiculous. Interviewed 10/5 and still not a word from them or an update on timeframe and their line automatically goes to voicemail for the admissions office!

Definitely understand your frustration! Interviewed 10/27, so I’m not expecting anything until February :/. This is my 4th II that I am waiting on the wait is agonizing! Just stay strong friend
 
Does the Georgetown SMP program significantly boost chances at getting into medical school?

A huge congratulations to you! If you don’t mind me asking, around what time EST did you get the call? I interviewed 10/14 and have been dying to hear back…
 
Does anyone know if they traditionally take this long to send out decisions after winter break? I know there were ~60 people who interviewed my week (10/14). Not sure if that's more than usual.

I'm a current M1. Last year, I interviewed end of October and heard back at the very end of February. I know the wait can be a lot, hope this helps!

As someone that interviewed on 12/01, this gives me the scaries 😭 12 weeks from my interview date would be 2/23...such a waiting game. Thank you for the info though!
