My guess is that they’ve invited ALOT of ppl to interview or matriculate that withdraw because they have other acceptances. They want to narrow down the list to ppl who are still interested because they’re tired of wasting spots on people who have zero chance of attending. Either that or it’s a soft R.

I was so excited after reading the title and the first part of the email, that I called my boyfriend to tell him I got (my first and only) interview this cycle. I was SO excited and he told me how proud he was of me. Got home from work and read the bottom of the email and was quickly humiliated and humbled. Thanks NSU 🥰

I should've read the email carefully BUT why would they send an email with congratulations in the subject and say you are eligible for interview and THEN say its not a guarantee? I thought I got my first interview! I literally cried from happiness and told my entire family, some friends, that i got an interview just to realize it wasn't?? This whole process is so tolling man 🙁

Don't they know at this point every email we get literally makes our heart race... it feels like this could have been avoided by not titling it as such. C'mon schools, do better than this please

This makes me so sad. So sad, in fact, that I’m going to withdraw my app so that you’re more likely to get an interview. Even if it’s only .01% more likely idc. I was already on the fence as I’ve got a few options I’m happy with, but this made up my mind. Everyone withdraw and get this girl her interview!!! Who’s w me!?? lol

I’ll add that I think the people behind this email knew exactly what they were doing. Let’s be honest, it’s a HUGE help to have the info that this survey will provide them with. What better way to have the large majority of applicants open and read your email, the entire email? Why not hit em with some clickbait. That’ll make them read our email and therefore be more likely to respond. Honestly, such a tone deaf and insensitive email. Shame shame shame.
what the actual..... i thought i had seen medical schools do some sketchy stuff but this is actually next level. How can you espouse that you're teaching your students humanity when you pull stuff like this? do you have no shame?

How miserable. I started thinking about prewriting secondaries again today and had given up hope for the cycle, then I got the email and was over the moon. I clicked yes on the “do you want to interview” button without reading the whole email, and was so confused when the link that came up didn’t have a date to schedule. I figured it would come in a separate email. I called my partner, said “I got an interview! Listen to this email!” … then while reading the whole thing to them that one little tiny sentence at the end came up and I died a little inside. The audacity

emailed the admissions office last week asking for a status update on my application only to find out I got placed on the WL weeks ago and somehow the letter never made it to my inbox. (I interviewed on Jan 7th btw) 🙁

Lmao I got so hyped thinking that I had gotten another interview since my other places have waitlisted me. Very upset that this school would do something like this. It seems as if this place does not under basic precedents of medical school applications. I hope I get an interview here because I need interviews (I really do not want to reapply to medical schools). But I am so upset that this place could do something like this at a stage where the remaining applicants in the pool will jump at any opportunity they can get. The more I think about, the angrier I feel, it's upsetting but what can you do, this is what we must stoop down to I guess.

This place has to be one of the funniest (and not in a good way) medical schools in the country. I have literally heard about some of the sketchiest stuff coming out of this school. In fact I was so flabbergasted I noticed like everything even about the application just screams ambiguity. Something makes me feel like this whole school is gonna turn out to be some massive multi level marketing campaign lmao.

No, but I'm OOS with minimal ties.
Pre-II R. Lm 73. Interviewed and waitlisted here last cycle. Straight up R this cycle.
this program is something alright... keep your head up.
I was on the WL too and that turned into an A. NSU MD really does seem to have a lot of WL movement because of their small class size, so I’d keep your head up! I also sent in an update with a paragraph reexpressing my interest.

Your odds are very good. I got in after being wl for about two months. But based off last year's stats, 51% of all people interviewed eventually received an acceptance so the odds are in your favor
