You get one this morning too? The date they gave me was for 1/13.
It also happens to be in the 10-12 week post-interview window so it's got my wheels turning, or I'm probably overthinking it.
Yes, I did for the same date! I completely agree with you because I want to think positively, but I am not sure if they send them to everyone who interviewed.
I got one a couple months ago shortly after I interviewed but had to reschedule to February, not sure what to make of that!

Pretty sure they offer to everyone that interviews

I wouldn't doubt it. They send everyone secondaries too.
But the timing of it gives me a "disturbance in the force," though. Others who have interviewed around or after me have gotten the invites much sooner. And I'm aware the pace of everything depends on the admissions counselor, but I've also been in steady contact with my counselor, so I don't think I got forgotten. At least I hope not.
It probably is more incidental than anything. I'm not sure they'd invite people in to tell them their decision in-person.

Waitlisted just now! Interviewed 10/22.

Other info since somebody is probably going to ask:
3.73 GPA, 517 MCAT, reapplicant, ranked Navy > Army = Air Force
Congrats!!! Fingers crossed for all the movement on the waitlist! Can I ask who your counselor is?

I know it is the end of the year - super late. I just heard that my application is under final review... would I still have any chance of getting an interview?

My application was under final review at the beginning of November, and I have not heard back yet, so it may be awhile before you hear. That being said, my admissions counselor told me they do interviews until at least mid-February, so I wouldn’t give up hope yet.

Thank you so much. I hope we hear back soon!

Update: I just heard back and received an interview invitation in mid-Jan! Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendation? I didn't know that there are two interviews ??

Come with questions. My med student interview was really laid back and my 2nd one less so. If not for questions my 2nd interview would've been really short. Be yourself and be enthusiastic and you should be okay! Good luck!

Congratulations!!! Best of luck. I’m still waiting…haha

I briefly wrote about my experience (see below).

As a disclaimer, I'm a civilian reapplicant so I've had 4 interviewers to date.

The single most important question is "Why medicine, and why in particular military medicine?" or some variation of that. All four of my interviewers asked that. Three of my interviewers asked me about leadership ("Tell me about your most important/humbling leadership experience") and three of them also asked me about where I saw myself in the future ("... outside of, you know, medical specialties.").

The other question that all four interviewers asked me was "Do you have any questions?".

Aside from that, three of my four interviews were very conversational (almost too conversational, which can throw you off). The fourth interview was similar to a traditional "drill you with interview questions" interview but the Q/A session at the end was very conversational and casual. I talked about things like martial arts or research or rocket launchers or therapy pets (Shetland!) with my interviewers.

You generally won't get oddball questions ("What is your favorite microbe?") unless it's very specific to you (i.e. if you're passionate about microbiology).

Other interview questions that I encountered (mostly from that one interviewer):
-Why our school?
-What do you offer us?
-How would your friends describe you?
-What is the last book that you read?
-Tell me about your most significant research experience
-Tell me about the time you spent abroad (because I did medical volunteering abroad)
-What would you say is the biggest downside of military medicine and how do you plan on overcoming that?
-What military exposure do you have outside of your work with ROTC and veterans?
Edit: The one interviewer that drilled me with questions was faculty, and he also dug into my PS.

I’ll give my experience here. For my student interview, it was pretty much just question-answer the whole time except the end, while my faculty interview was questions punctuated with tangents/discussions about topics related to the questions– it was much more conversational. Overall, in my case the faculty interview felt much more casual.

My student interviewer really dug into my personal statement. In general it’s always a good idea to be able to articulate about what you wrote. I honestly felt like I did poorly when talking about my PS, but either it wasn’t as bad as I thought or the rest of my interview made up for it.

Overall, I had no questions out of left field, just asking about why medicine, why military medicine (milmed), pros/cons of milmed, travel, Q’s about my research. So my advice is: be able to talk about your experiences, and know at least the basics of what a milmed career entails.

I just got waitlisted. Anyone know how much the waitlist moves at USU?

Has anyone received the requirement for being reweighed and/or undergoing a Body Composition Testing (BCT) for not meeting the weight standards? What happens if I don't pass again? They are only giving me ten days to get it done, so not exactly time to lose any actual weight, especially over the holidays? Will I be totally disqualified? Or can I undergo the weight loss program? I'm so nervous! I've already been conditionally accepted for PHS if that helps

If I recall correctly, you get reweighed 10 days after your initial physical. If you still don't make weight, you get taped. If you fail the tape, it's a medical disqualification at USU.

Dang. I got my physical back in October and just got the email this week about the weight issue so it definitely wasn't 10 days after my initial physical. But if the tape gets me disqualified, I'm going to be so disappointed 🙁 I don't think I'm more than 15 or so pounds over

From what I've seen, 15lbs over will generally pass the tape test without too much trouble

I can't speak to the Navy or Air Force but Army uses the following publication.

Table B-1, around page 20.
From there, you can find the tables describing the acceptable ranges for neck and waist measurements to approximate BMI.

You get medically disqualified until you make weigh or pass the tape test. If you eventually get off the waitlist, you will get conditionally accepted with the condition being of at least passing the tape test using Army standards (USUHS uses army weight standards for accessions)

If you are already conditionally accepted, i believe you have until the beginning of summer to make weight/pass the tape test in order to get unconditionally accepted.

Hey everyone, even after all the information given by folks on this board I decided to boost my Christmas Spirt by reading the 2019-20 USUHS forum (highly recommend it for someone that may be down about getting waitlisted) and seeing all the movement was definitely inspiring. Anyways I came across this little gem from Capt Liotta circa Jan 2020 and thought everyone on the waitlist would appreciate seeing it. It repeats info given by other posters but it's nice to see where the info they gave came from:

Are there different waiting lists, like how this post says primary waiting list? My waitlist letter only states waiting list. Thanks.

There is only one waitlist. There are two other lists, so people tend to call the waitlist the primary waitlist.

Hey all! Apologies if this has been answered in this thread, but I am reading through my remedial AMI request and I am confused as to how to submit the requested medical records. The instructions say to email the "AMI results" your technician. Do I email all the requested medical records as a PDF to my assigned technician or is there somewhere else I submit the requested medical records and then I get a result that I email to my technician? Thanks for any help!

Not entirely sure what a remedial AMI request is but I did have to send my medical records and I just sent them to the commissioning coordinator email address provided in the initial interview invite. Additionally, I passcode protected a PDF and then just included the password in the email. Hope that helps !
Thank you!

Any AMI should go directly to the technician listed on the remedial letter

Here's what I received from DoDMERB when I asked them this question:

"There are three ways to submit documentation to DoDMERB:

1) E-mail it as a pdf document to: [email protected]
NOTE: If e-mailing, please keep the attachments to 5 MBs or less per e-mail

2) Fax it to: 719-333-3578 (limit of 15-pages)

3) Mail it to:
DoDMERB
8034 Edgerton Dr Suite 132
USAFA CO 80840"

That being said, they never responded to my AMI submission (this was back in October) or any of my follow ups. Going to try to talk to the commissioning coordinator at the end of the holiday season.

Thank you!
I'm a little late to the party, but I just sent the relevant medical records per the request, directly to the tech in the letter. You don't necessarily need to send your entire medical history, just the appointments and test results relevant to what they're asking about.

It couldn't hurt to politely follow up to make sure everything went through.

Has anyone NOT been invited to visit the school? My interview was around 7 weeks ago and I am curious if those of us who interviewed later will have the opportunity. May have read it wrong, but do they stop campus tours after Feb?
I believe they said they plan to do 4 this year, but this was before omicron became more salient.

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great holiday. I interviewed week of October 25th and haven't heard back. Anyone else interview around that time that has heard back?

As per the interview confirmation email, you MAY hear back around 8-10 weeks after your October interview. It's been around 10 weeks since your interview (8 if you count holidays). If I had to guess, you'll probably hear back by the end of the month. The wait time varies from applicant to applicant.

I interviewed mid-October and have also not heard back

Question after Dodmerb
I went for my Dodmerb and I noted that I am about 15lb over the weight limit for my height. I plan to lose the weight by the next 2-3 months, but is that too late? Is it true that I need to go to MEPS for a re-evalution? If anyone has ever gone through a similar process regarding weight I would appreciate any insight or tips!! Thank you in advance!

You will get tape tested and from what I've seen someone who is 15lb over will generally pass the tape test, maybe unless you have zero muscle

Once your physical papers get processed, you will get na email from the commissioning coordinator stating that you will have 10 days to submit a BCT (body composition test). Basically you can go to your local army recruiter and ask them to get taped. According to USUHS mandates, you will have to be below army accession standard of body fat for your age, height and sex (you can calculate exactly what you need through the army apft app). If you exceed the max allowed body fat, you won't get rejected from acceptance but will get "conditionally accepted" if a spot opens up for you until you meet the weigh standard. If it helps, Im ~40lbs over their weight limit for my age, height and sex, got taped and got cleared.

Does anyone know if there is a facebook or group chat for the incoming class? I was unconditionaly accepted back in October and I finaly caved and decided to make an SDN lol.

The school will start one and you’ll get invited to it. I believe Sharon Holland is the one who makes it.

Interviewed early October and still have not heard anything regarding a decision. Should I be worried? USU is one of my top choices so I'm still hoping for good news, it has just been a while!
