Ive seen anywhere from 1 week to 1 month. Seems most get it around 3weeks?
 
Caught the R this afternoon. Complete 7/9. In-state. 78.30 LizzyM. 3.9 GPA, 522 MCAT. ORM.

Those are super high numbers for an R! They must be super competitive/tough this year, or do u think were you lacking in some regard (inadequate ECs or PS?)

It’s a random process, really depends on who is looking at your application. I was rejected with similar stats and my extracurriculars and personal statement are pretty good. They realize that a lot of the people who apply would be great future doctors, but they can’t take everyone so they just make a judgement call based on how reviewers feel when reading your application.
 
Does anyone know if Keck accepts update letters? I see that they don't accept revisions/updates to the secondary once submitted but wondering what their policy is on updating about new research stuff?

HA I hope not. I thought my ECs were great. I've also spent the last two years as a medical case manager for homeless folks with HIV. So lots of topical experience. My only thought is maybe that had too many white Jewish girls applying, or they wanted to see more research experience? When it comes to top tier schools it's really just a crapshoot. But hopefully this makes others with an R feel validated. <3
 
pre-II R. in-state. Good stats. Almost perfect GPA. Complete 6/27. I am even doing a Master's at Keck. I wish the best of luck to everyone. Remember, one day you'll realize why so many "wrongs" led to the "right." Where you go to med school determines so many different things, really it shapes the trajectory of your life. Think about it...you'll be there for at LEAST four years, but probably closer to 8-10...during one of the most pivotal decades of your life. Where you go determines where you live, who you meet, your best friends, most likely the spouse you meet, and so much more. If you're spending so much time at the same school in the same city, the chances are of you meeting your SO in that place are significantly higher. My point is that we don't know why God or the universe depending on what you believe in chose for us to be at one place over the other. We have no control over the matter. The only thing we control is our application. After we submit that, it's up to the God, the universe, a higher power, whatever you believe in, to shape our fate. Remember, "what you missed was not created for you and what was created for you will surely not be missed." -Prophet Muhammad pbuh. I'm not sure why I am writing all of this. It's as a gentle reminder to all of us struggling and stressed with the pre-medical process and also a reminder for myself as well. This was my dream school and I really thought I had a strong chance of getting in. But, whatever is meant to be for all of us will happen. I am so proud of all of you guys! We've got this. I wish the best for all of you.

also got the pre-II R yesterday….not my first R but this one definitely hurt the most as USC was my dream school. Good luck to all of you still in it, I hope you get your deserved II/A here soon 🙂
 
Pre-ii R yesterday. A little bitter since I’m in state and have gotten interviews to better schools out of state. 518, 3.8 thousands of paid clinical and volunteer clinical hours. Oh well the process is random. Complete early July. Good luck to everyone!
 
Does anyone know if the Health Technology and Innovation emphasis is still a part of the program at USC? I had read on last year's thread that it was possibly canceled but it's also listed on their website still under the curriculum. Any help would be great thanks!

Hello, all! I received an interview invite on 10/14! I apologize for my lateness in reporting it. I was complete 10/12, so I have been in complete shock, and I am completely over the moon to have received it! I interview on 11/16, and if anyone has any tips, I would greatly appreciate them!
 
Do emails for waitlists go out as well? if we don't get the call...

Edit: If anyone can toss me a tip/any information on the interview I would be eternally grateful. My interview is scheduled for 11/16 (my only II so far...) and I'm looking forward to it but am also really nervous! Appreciate anything! <3

I know this is cliche, but be yourself. Dean Arias has a talk with all applicants prior to their interviews to loose them up, and she stresses not worrying about giving answers based on what you think the interviewer wants to be. The interviewers genuinely want to know more about you, so make sure you relax, smile, and have a good time. Also I recommend have questions prepared.
