how soon after your interview did the "thanks for interviewing" message pop up? Interviewed over a month ago and I still only have the "thanks for the secondary" message.....
Call them! I think Creighton manually updates (or somewhat manually) and someone also made the same mistake for my portal.

Hey everyone!

Congrats to all of you who have received interviews or acceptances so far at Creighton during this cycle!! As you probably know, it is such an incredible achievement to even enter into this unforgiving process in the first place. I remember just how stressful these months likely have been and will continue to be for each and every one of you, but please continue to stay strong through it all. There is light at the end of the tunnel 😊

I am currently an M1 at Creighton SOM, and I honestly could not be happier to have picked this school as the place I will be spending the next few years of my life. I have many friends from undergrad who currently attend different medical schools throughout the country, and please believe me when I tell you that compared to others, Creighton fosters a far more stress-free and collaborative environment which has been such a blessing for my wellbeing amidst the inherent pressures of school. You will not regret your choice to attend here.

One of the first hurdles of your medical school journey will of course be finding housing, so in anticipation of some of y’all’s commitments to Creighton, I wanted to quickly plug my wonderful house as an option to consider!! The Creighton Phi Chi Medical Fraternity is a co-ed living community that includes students in all four years of medical school who will quickly become your best friends and serve as your mentors as you grow into your new home. We are like a big happy family living together in a huge mansion located a mere block away from the famous Blackstone district in Omaha. Some of my favorite parts of living here have been coming back home from class to a yummy dinner made by a different one of my roommates each and every night, and eating all together at the dining table to exchange laughter and stories from the day. I cannot imagine how much more difficult my adjustment to medical school would have been had I not been surrounded by these housemates of mine. Plus, we have by far the cheapest rent in all of Omaha --- and even better, we have our food budget included in our rent, so you won’t even have to pay for your meals if you live here!!

If you want to make the most out of your transition into medical school, please consider living at Phi Chi. If interested or if you have any questions, feel free to send us an email at [email protected]! The house application as well as other information can be found under the APPLY tab of our website www.creightonphichi.com. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the Spring and Summer. We look forward to hearing from you all soon!!!

Is it beneficial at all to send updates if I've been working at the same job since I applied? So huge increase in hours. I updated ~1 month ago with a new volunteer position but I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do ATP to increase my odds of getting a II.

from my experience and what they have said at info sessions, creighton really appreciates updates bc it confirms previously projected hours and indicates continued interest. it'll get them to look at your application again, and it won't do anything but help!

Yes it really helps!! In the interview informational session, they confirmed that if you're still working a job, you should update them on that. They value it. I was suggested that uploading an update this weekend before my app goes into the post interview review could be helpful. So if you're waiting for an II just send one! Plus, if anything, it shows continues interest. Good luck!

Hey is there a way we can see the updates that have been submitted on the portal? I can't tell if my 4 updates went through, I had three of the same category and only one confirmation I would hate to send duplicates

maybe try to condense all 3 of the same into one file?

are the information sessions a part of the interview day or can anyone sign up to attend one pre-interview? I could not find how to register on their website so assuming only for those invited to interview. Thank you and good luck!

Open. Based on my experience, they really dig through your PS and the whole application. They asked really specific questions based on what I put on my app. I really liked the interview because it felt very personal, like they're trying to get to know who I am. I felt it was pretty low-stress since I was really just talking about me/what I liked. I also got to ask some questions about school life, location, food, etc.

agree with thisisasystole! the interview was great, but it was one of those interviews that you can't really prepare for. My interviewers didn't ask me tell me about yourself/why medicine/Weaknesses/strength and any other typical interview questions. My student interviewer and I talked about our fitness journey more than anything actually 😆

My student interviewer and I grew up down the road from each other! It's very conversational, I would just say know your application really well and know your story well!!

Hi all, I had a few questions. When it comes to campus preference, how do you know which campus you are interviewing for? I referenced AZ in my secondary but was unsure of how it works. Also, how soon after the interview did y'all hear back?

Seems like acceptances are sent independently of the chosen campus. According to my faculty interviewer, some time after acceptance there's a lottery for the Phoenix campus.

OOS, interviewed 12/6, got my A on 1/16 🙂 I echo the above, student interview was very conversational. Faculty interviewer suggested I send an update letter, so I did. I guess it paid off.
Lol same. I've never had that. Faculty seemed like a caring mom and who am I to ignore that feedback. Also got the A after.

I had thought you had to select a campus upon application. Generally you can get put on a waitlist to switch campuses contingent upon what opens up in terms of seats.

I selected AZ in my secondary! I just didn’t know if that’s where they automatically place you if you are accepted

Admissions said to send thank you letters to the admissions email and they would forward them to your interviewers.
Okay Thanks, also I don’t remember my interviewers’s full names. Is there somewhere on the portal I can find that, and I also don’t see the thank you for interviewing message that everyone’s talking about.

i just got an email about a background check for a medical school. do people on the alternate list also get this email, or is it a pretty good sign that i was accepted?

Does anyone have last-minute interview tips? feeling nervous for mine today
I was extremely nervous for mine, but the interviewers instantly put me at ease. For the student interview: it’s a conversation, so be yourself. She asked some questions, but the rest of the time we chatted about life. The faculty interview was more traditional, but she was smiling and supportive the whole time. Just remember they’re all about compassion and holistic care at Creighton. Good luck!

Hi,
If it is from Certiphi then the email should read something like this, "You have received this email because you have been waitlisted or conditionally accepted by one or more of the medical schools participating in the AAMC-facilitated program for performing criminal background checks on conditionally accepted applicants and waiting list applicants." Meaning that they send the background request to those who have been accepted and also waitlisted. My guess is that they send it to waitlisted applicants as well to ensure that there are no delays in the case that the waitlisted applicant gets accepted in May. I hope that answers your question and sending you "accepted" vibes soon 🙂

Am waitlisted at 2 schools as well, but didn't get anything about a background check. Does that mean anything and Should I look more into it?

They will send it to you don't worry! A lot of schools use this system but some don't so don't stress too much 🙂

Still have a "thank you for submitting your secondary application" lol, I guess I'll probably be hearing back next week since nothing yet for me 😕
