I think it is safe to say that those who interviewed in september were among the first round of applicants to be reviewed. The email received by many of us who interviewed in October is merely the school letting us know that decisions are coming. Unless ofc there are folks who interviewed in October and have already heard back but that doesn’t seem likely.

good point! someone got a post-II R yesterday from Indiana, they interviewed mid october. guessing since they sent some of those out, they may as well let everyone else know what’s up
Wait really?? I thought IUSM waited until the spring to reject applicants post-II....

I was finally scheduled for my UMP interview today after waiting 2 months, they sent an email this morning saying I’m scheduled for a date in early January. Grateful to finally have a date at least, but is Jan. late in the cycle?

From what I’ve gathered there is only 7 interviews for UMP. Jan is like in the middle so I think it’s not that bad but definitely hope it could be earlier lol

I also applied to UMP, and got the email today for an early January date!

so from what I am getting, waiting for an interview date when you got the II mid-Sept is normal?

Yeah same as above, OOS pre II R no ties, yesterday

Post-II from 9/7 - Update email just now: "At present, your application remains under consideration."

Still hanging on I guess
This email which some of us got is really bothering/confusing me, not sure what to make of it. It seems the decision committee meets on the last day of the month and then sends out an email/mail on the 15th to the accepted students. We got this email on the 1st ( supposedly next day of the adcom meeting), Does it mean we will be under consideration in the 11/30 meeting or it was just a fluke email that was sent when they were reviewing our application last month. I did not find any reference to such kind of email in the past 2 cycles. Hoping for the best for everyone, 15th Nov can't come soon enough.

Hope this is true (fingers crossed). Makes feel better and gives hope 🙂

truly, Nov 15 cant come soon enough. It seems that everyone got the email -- I wonder if they just sent a mass email to everyone who has not heard back yet...

I have my interview next week, can someone please clarify how interview day goes? kinda confused.
My interview day had a financial aid info session, a student panel, interview check-in, and then my interview (I had two interviewers speaking with me in a single Zoom call). The order of these might vary for you depending on what time of day your interviews are happening - for example, I attended the morning financial aid info session because I had an afternoon interview. I got an email two days before my interview with the day's schedule, so you'll know specifics once you get that. Good luck!!!

Do you guys know how long after interviews decisions are released?

You’ll get an email days after your interview that your app is complete and will be presented before the committee. Acceptance letters are mailed on the 15th of every month with the email coming some days after. Idk when they release WL/R but I think it’s much later in the cycle

Ok this sounds completely neurotic, but do they in any way confirm that they have received our letter/signature confirming that we want to attend?

Yeah you can call them and they will confirm it for you

You can also see this in the portal if you go to "Document Upload."

Forgot to post in here. AMCAS submission 10/18, received 10/24, II 11/1, notification that they’re gonna cancel II if I don’t submit the required signed documents and the grad app 11/8 lol

OOS, URM, no ties

Accepted last month. Recently went to First Look at IUSM Bloomington and really enjoyed the campus.
I have a first look coming up at the northwest campus. How was your tour? Any tips? I planned on dressing business casual. Should I bring a notebook to write in or anything?

Are acceptances sent out on the 15th, or is there a chance for them to arrive tomorrow?

I am too, especially after the 11/1 email saying “At present you application remains under consideration”. IUSM website says they send acceptance on the 15th of each month. If they send it by mail we won’t get it before 17th. Hope they send out an email tomorrow morning 🤞.
same... lowkey think about that email weekly and what it means

Is anyone else struggling to rank campuses? Does anyone have any insight as to if people get top 2, top 3, top 4, etc. choices?

What interview dates are we expecting to get their decision this week? It appears 9/7 was the last interview date that recieved acceptances last month. So guessing 10/5 and before?

I really enjoyed the tour. We got to tour both the new hospital and the academic spaces where medical students study (they've got an area for med students to play video games like Switch to decompress right next to where they can study!). I learned a lot, including that IUSM Bloomington is unique in that it's the only IUSM campus that provides interprofessional training alongside with nurses and other medical personnel in their simulation labs. I thought that was really cool to see. Most people wore business casual, but there were a fair amount of people in more casual clothing, too. Feel free to bring a notebook to take notes, there's a lot of good information provided!
