Hi guys! Anyone know stanford's policy on letters of interest post-II? Is it only significant updates within 2 weeks, or are letters of interest accepted?
At my interview, it seemed like they really only wanted very major updates, and not letters of interest. I could be wrong, but that's what I took away.

Same here. They seemed to discourage minor updates and especially LOI. Tbh, if you think about it, they really don't need those things to make an informed decision. It's just us panicking

they also said if you have another paper publication that is not really a significant update but rather icing on the cake, but if it is a first author paper or your first paper, then definitely send them a letter. What kills me is the waiting lol, seems like they already made up their mind 2 weeks post II, don't know why they have to wait until Jan

To those who have interviewed, do you have the itinerary for the day? The allotted time they said seems very long so I am curious what they have planned/what breaks there are.

Also, are we allowed to take notes during the 2min MMI brainstorming?

No notes! And the entire MMI circuit takes about an hour forty, and the rest are sessions and q and as and things

No notes during the MMI 2022-2023 Stanford

they actually let you out earlier, at least for mine. No note during MMI

So we can only send updates after the interview? I wasn’t sure if the within two weeks thing was two weeks before interview day or two weeks after.

within 2 weeks after the interview date. After that, the upload portal will close. But you can email their admission office with significant update, although that might not be considered. That's what they said on my interview

Do you know if it's two weeks after the MMI interview or if it can be two weeks after the PSTP interview?

Has Stanford sent any Rs yet?
Yeah quite a few (Stanford) – y'all can use Cycle Track to contribute data/track your cycle too!

For the PSTP program, does anyone know if we're considered separately from the MD program (IE, could be accepted to PSTP, or could be rejected from PSTP but still accepted to MD)? Or, alternatively, if we either get accepted to PSTP or rejected altogether?

Your considered for both pretty sure. If you get R for PTSP you are still considered for regular Stanford program.

I asked that question directly to the director after my interview, and that was not my impression. Seems like PSTP is just a "concentration" of the regular MD, and PSTP interviews will only help you get in if anything else. They are really accepting you to Stanford instead of a specific program (MD vs PSTP). So if you don't get into PSTP, it's very unlikely you will get into MD. Just my two cents based on their answer.

I understand, though, that people (in previous years, IE last year) have applied to their MSTP, and been rejected/waitlisted from the MSTP but accepted to the MD-only program. I was thinking, for those reasons, that it might be possible they could want us for their MD-only program even if we perhaps don't quite make the cut for the PSTP program.

Would it be possible to say a little more about what the director said that gave you the impression that it's either PSTP or nothing?

I emailed the PSTP office and got different answer, although it is not the director who answered my email though. They said MD and PSTP are separate committee, so you have to be accepted by both MD and PSTP com to be accepted to PSTP; if you get rejected by PSTP, you are still considered for MD. Essentially, PSTP decision has no bearing on MD only admission. I think it doesn't really matter how the process works, it is either accept or reject, not that if we know the process it will change anything lol. But I guess we all need to know more to feel in control in the random process

Thanks for sharing. I do find it interesting though that no one this or last year has reported a PSTP-specific rejection (with or without an MD-only interview).

Has anyone sent a letter of interest post-interview? If so, when? Does Stanford accept them?

is the MMI 8 min (2 min question and 6 min response) or 10 min (2min question and 8 min response)

Anyone else not yet received their PSTP interview date/time? A little nervous cuz the holidays are coming up and I don't know if the week of Jan 3 is the only week of PSTP interviews left

Are there any info sessions coming up for prospective students / already interviewed students?

Last month I dug through last year's cycle and it seemed like they sporadically sent out a few interviews in December and the first half of January. With that being said, it was like 5 reported on SDN over that entire time period so..
Ok, sounds good. Thank you!!

When do KHS video invites generally start going out? Is it early January?

Also, if someone were to receive one of those, does anyone know if that's a good sign for MD program acceptance, or if it doesn't mean anything either way?

Yes the video statement invitations are sent throughout January: The Two Evaluation Processes

In terms of sending video statement invitations and selecting finalists/scholars, KH does check with the program you applied to first (in this case the MD adcom). So yes, if you receive a video invite that's a good sign for MD acceptance (but not a guarantee)

I feel you my friend. Don't worry we're in it together...still waiting on so many schools that have sent out a lot of R waves and meanwhile still waiting despite submitting early July. I just don't get it lol. It's not like they havn't seen our apps.
A lot of top schools release the first wave of decisions this month. Maybe the other top schools are still keeping us in a “maybe pile” in case people decide to withdraw from consideration due to getting an acceptance they prefer. Or maybe they just want to string us along and reject us later, who knows 😂
