That could literally be any volunteer work within your city, school or any other environment you're in. It could also be employment. For example, I was employed as a counselor for an incoming student orientation program at my university, or you volunteered in your local food bank, animal shelter, etc...assuming you have such activities, your response could be something like that.

Mine was weird, talked about helping set up an impromptu virtual prom for my "high school" on a college campus after COVID screwed our plans. My HS was already weird enough because of its location and being a boarding school, homecoming and prom were the only taste of normalcy for a lot of people.

In retrospect, should have probably talked about volunteering to help my local community rip

This took me a while to figure out but I went really digging into my past. My background is Thai and what my family used to do was host Thai military officers at our home (in Canada) for dinners a few times a year. This brought together the Thai community in a foreign country and it was like an awesome Thai night. Doesn't have to be volunteering or employment, something unique to you that was meaningful 🙂

do y’all think it’s too late to submit secondary at this point? 🙁 i took a break from secondaries for longer than i planned and now I’m worried I wasted my primaries

As long as you submit before labor day ur in great shape. Yea might've hurt you a little bit? Like maybe 1 or 2%? But its not going to be the reason you don't get in

Their average stats are around that, so people with those LMs and lower are definitely going to get IIs soon. They might be prioritizing high stats individuals for their first rounds just to secure them.
Hmm yea that makes sense, all the high LMs get interviews first because med schools know that other schools want them first. Once that's done it'll probably trickle down.

I've already submitted my supplemental app but I was looking back at this question: "Are you an applicant in the current cycle (regardless of pending decisions) for any of the awards or scholarships listed below? If so, please select the name(s) below. Please do not list a scholarship that was previously awarded or decided (any status). The information requested here is specific to the current cycle with no final decision."

I was wondering, was Knight Hennessy one of the options?

Same here— complete 8/1, radio silence.
I completed 7/15 still radio silence lol. I knew it is a pipe dream but I got zero II so far in this cycle including mid-tier schools so I think there must be some red flag in my app, really starting to worry

Relax king. You’ve got a great app. These things just take time.

You're fine. It's still early. I wish you the best brobro <3

Lol bro, I'm gonna join your boat in 2 weeks anyway don't worry

How much did you write about your background in Med Tech in your secondary?
Quite a bit. Its been my main focus for pretty much my entire application. I also wrote an extra mini essay in the "anything else" about how I think my background fits perfectly with the Stanford ethos of innovation and how I plan to continue my involvement in the sphere, enhanced by my medical education.

I'm right there with you. I don't have any II's either even though I felt like my app was pretty solid. That being said it's still very early in the cycle and this process is super random. II's will come our way, we just gotta be patient 🙂

exactly what jackie legs said above lol, I was complete 6/28 and still silence with LM of 81. Really just depends on what the school wants in terms of fit, one way or another you will cop the II from a school who wants you!

I completed most of mine 1-2 weeks after you and have had zero IIs so far as well. SDN might make it seem like everybody is getting IIs, but it only seems that way because no one posts about not having IIs. Most of us are in the same boat 🙂 I started thinking about any red flags in my app as well, but the more I thought the more I drove myself crazy. There’s nothing we can do about it now, after hitting the submit button, so let’s focus on what we can do (other things)! What is meant to happen will happen 🙂

For Stanford Sec, it indicates whether you want to apply to MD or PTSP program. If I choose the PTSP program will it be harder for me to get in compared to normal MD? Like if I get rejected for PTSP am I still considered for normal MD?

Hi, I have an interview coming up but am waiting on a publication - I'm worried that Stanford won't consider an update with the publication if I submit one more than 2 weeks after my interview....do you think I should try to reschedule my interview for later or will they still add it to my application?
never do that. Do the II as soon as u can unless your article is accepted and you are waiting to become online. You will have more chance to do II ASAP.
