Does Wayne give out pre-ii rejections? I’ve been complete since 8/27 and it’s been crickets… do I assume I’m out of the running lol

Extrapolating from last year they have about 200 interview spots remaining, and 250 acceptances to give out (700 A's/1500 interviews). I wouldn't give up yet! They also gave out 200 A's after April which is pretty incredible. I expect things to be slow here on out, but not hopeless. Waiting has driven me crazy so this is what I have dug up lol.

edit: they do give out pre-ii rejections, happened to a friend of mine in December.

This gave me newfound hope. Thank you!

Anyone accepted in late Dec receive a packet in the mail yet? Nothing yet and overly neurotic lol.

I don’t live in mid-town, but I would highly recommend avoiding any Essential Property Management buildings except for Studio One. Be careful of Lafayette Towers in nearby Lafayette Park, they’ve had some issues with malfunctioning fire alarms that failed to go off during an actual fire.
I have a lot of friends who live at the Scott at Brush Park, which seems nice but is expensive
I live in Sterling Heights. Do you think its worth it to seek housing closer to the campus? Or would commuting be fine? It would save a lot of money if I could get away with commuting throughout med school.

So whats the logic behind holding off on notifying some people. Specially those without and ii. Like either we are good enough to get an interview or not. Havent they been through all the apps yet?

Before I say this I’ll make the caveat that I did my first 2 years during COVID when we didn’t have a lot of in person sessions. You could definitely make it work as an M1+M2 as long as you don’t mind studying in the library between small groups/clinical skills/anatomy lab. As an M3, you would probably want to be closer to your base hospital.

anyone who interviewed 12/16 hear back yet? they said it takes 4-6 weeks and itll be 6 weeks in 2 days but weird they're taking so long

My interview was during end of Oct 2022 and I am waitlisted. Is it a good idea to send an update letter?

I asked the director of admissions about this and he said you can send an update letter but it does not bear a positive or negative effect on an application. If you want to send one, send it or you can just wait.

I wonder it they’re done sending out interviews since their “Happy Holidays” email said they’re just interviewing into February🙁

Interviewed late December and still haven’t heard nothing…strange especially considering the fact that people last month were hearing back in like 2 weeks. Wonder what the hold back is????

Probably last batch goes out next week.
Nobody here really knows when the last batch will be sent. Based on the previous year's thread, they continued sending interviews until mid-February. They can go into March if they need to.
Their email said "We will continue to interview applicants into February, 2023".

i wonder if theyre waiting to do one last big round of acceptances/interviews so its taking longer?

People who interviewed after me were getting decisions earlier which I thought was weird. I ended up hearing back like 7 weeks post interview so I would say that their review process isn't chronological.

Doesn't help when they say 4-6 weeks and then silence even after the 6th week 😒

Has anyone been on a tour yet, and if so, what's the dress code? I'm assuming it doesn't have to be interview level fancy, but is it a business casual sort of event?

i wore business casual and was the only one to do so lol. mostly people wore jeans/casual

Has anyone that hasn't heard back from December gotten in touch with the admissions office recently?

I had some scheduling conflicts so I contacted them. They don’t intend to have any March interviews, but they will be opening additional Monday and Friday interviews in February.
