Accepted on 1/6/23. Interviewed on 12.8.22!

Question: Does anyone know if they work with you during third and fourth year for rotation sites? If you're married and your husband is living in Hattiesburg, will they work with you to keep you close to your home?

congrats! it changes year to year as they’ve tried different things! last year it was lottery, and people could switch if there were mutually interested parties. to my knowledge, as far as other years go, people haven’t been given preference due to relationship status alone, but they did go off class rank a couple years ago I believe! i’ll keep y’all posted if i hear anything more concrete!

ETA: 4th year rotations i believe are pretty much up to you locationally as long as you meet the elective requirements! you’ll especially want to consider audition location as well!

I just got an interview invite from William Carey. It is in person. Does anyone have any specific reeks other than looking at SDN questions?

Got accepted in WCU, wanted to PM you, but the "Start Conversation" is not there, do you know why? Did you turn it off since you are busy school? Got accepted in KYCOM too, deposits are due at the same date. I am leaning toward WCU, your posts are very convincing. I would feel better I could PM you.

Hi I am new to SDN, and I am looking potentially at applying to WCCOM. Is it too late to consider applying for August 2023? What is the latest date for application submission?

I would say it is too late, the class is full still (I believe?), I would prep for next cycle

At this point in the cycle, it’s kinda late to submit your application to WCUCOM or any other DO or MD med schools since their classes are near to being full. Unless your stats are very competitive, then I would recommend preparing to apply early for the next cycle.

Thank you both for the quick response! I will definitely consider applying next cycle in this case. When would the next application cycle open?

Question: Is the 30 minute interview conducted with 2 interviewers at once (2:1)? or will I get 30 minutes with each individual interviewer?

Just making sure I’m reading my email correctly..

yep they're 2:1! wanted to add again as more II's are going out that y'all shouldn't be surprised if your interview ends kind of abruptly! they go back to back to back when they're doing virtual Teams interviews so they've got to wrap up your interview quick before the next person logs in! Also, faculty and staff emails are on the website if y'all want to send thank you's! 😉

Thank you! Good to know!

My interview is in person! I assume the same abruptness applies for in-person also since others may be waiting to interview after me? I wasn’t sure if we all had the same interviewers. I’m so excited!

oooo now i don't know about this! i would just be respectful of their time (ie don't take 10 minutes to answer a question lol) but don't feel rushed!

I received an ii for 02/10 and am feeling nervous that the class may be already full? I know there's great WL movement but is it possible I'm interviewing for a waitlist position ?

can't say for sure but at this point i would say most likely every position has been filled and they are on waitlist. it's so hard to say "the class is full" though because I could all but guarantee at least 30-50 (or more) of the 200 people that have currently accepted will drop once they receive acceptances at other programs. so unless you have an A from a school you absolutely would attend instead of WCUCOM, I would keep the II and feel confident that there is still so much movement left to happen! especially in the DO cycle, there really is no such thing as "the class being full" until the day orientation starts! that said, if you have an A from a school that you know you would attend instead of WCUCOM, then I would let the II go to someone who hasn't gotten an A from their preferred school yet!

Thank you for the response!
WCUCOM is definitely my top choice so I really hope everything works out well 🙂

It's open file!
yep! and i'll add at least in my class we saw a wide spread between people getting asked questions and people not getting asked questions about their app? I personally wasn't asked any questions about my app, but others were asked about specific experiences, scores, etc. so if you have any yellow or red flags or really unique stories or experiences/research, def be prepared to talk about it!

Is there a discord for accepted students for the class of 2027? I apologize if this has been asked before

For accepted non local students, if we need to rent an apartment, when should we start looking for one before school starts?

Just wondering... by non-local you mean from other states right? I'm from the East coast and was wondering when I should seriously start looking into apartments

I mean as long as we have to rent a place, the situation would be the same for all of us im assuming. I’m international

for those who got accepted, any advice for interviews that is not on the thread already lol

Nah I’m not. I studied in Canada tho

My personal recommendation would be to start "looking" at places on the internet now, and then actually start thinking about reaching out to places / touring places / putting down deposits, etc. 2-2.5 months before you want to move in. Most places require 60 days notice from leaving tenants, so if you want to move into an apartment say July 1st, they're not gonna know who will be vacating that apartment until 60 days before (May 1st). So definitely look around at what's in Hattie and where you might be interesting now, but again wouldn't reach out to leasing managers until 2-2.5 months before your desired move in date.

does anyone have insight on wcucom’s remediation policy? opportunity to retake tests? how often?

Does anyone have any insight on how long it took to get your acceptance decision after you interviewed?

Personally, I got accepted pending seat within a week of my interview in September, but the adcom interviewing me told me that was the only outcome if accepted because their seats were full. They encouraged me to come visit campus which I did the following week. In person, they told me to hang in there because the movement is heavy throughout the holidays. I got full acceptance on the day deposits were due in November. So, you should get a result within a week or two from your interview by mail and email. If you are accepted pending seat, or waitlisted, just hang in there but do not lose faith! You have gotten this far and nothing will stop you from becoming a physician.

If you make a discord or if there is one already for accepted students, I will certainly join! WCUCOM is my first choice and I am stoked to attend this cycle

The student admissions committee is in the process of making one for you (it'll be the one y'all have through the rest of your career at the COM/for classes/etc.) and will be sending it out soon!

Got an interview invite yesterday morning! So far this is my only one of the cycle and after reading what people have said about this school, I would be extremely happy to go here. My stats are super out of the norm so I'm assuming all of my post-bacc work saved me for this school along with my EC's and story in my application. You really are not out until you're out!
