Do each interview really last an hour in this school? Or is it common for it to end early?

One of mine did last basically the full hour, and then my other one was forced to be cut short early due to some scheduling issues

I think it depends. One of mine was 45 min, and the other was a little over an hour

With five acceptances you have so far, you shouldn't be anxious at all. We should be the ones cause we are still hoping to get the first one.

I think its valid to be anxious, we all have dream schools and this is one of mine. Just because I'm anxious doesn't mean others can't be. I think we should work on fostering a community that allows for all of our emotions to be expressed.

So can we really not see time stamps of prior year posts? Looks like people found out in morning last year but can't figure out when. Not that it will be necessarily same time this year but need to occupy myself somehow.

if you're on chrome, you can click inspect element and then it will tell you the time in Eastern that it was posted

I'm betting we hear at 10:30 eastern tomorrow, but that's just a guess

If you hover over the posting timepoint too it should also show the exact times! 🙂

Example:

[248pinkalicious]

Turns out all you have to do is hover over time stamp. I didn't need to inspect elements.

huh, mine doesn't do that, but that seems much easier

[Ajtbs06]

Given how close in time the posts seemed to be are we expecting portal updates are first or maybe they just had a bunch of callers.

No calls or portal updates- Your decision will be in the email you get

If I get accepted, I will write a haiku.
If I don't get accepted, I will write a haiku.

Either way Johnny Hopkins, I'm writing a haiku.

One of mine was the full hour, the other went like 2+ hours I lost track. So yes! I also saw several other folks who hadn't come back to the waiting room because their interviews were going over.

[shewhobagstea]

2 hours! Wow.

I ended up having Thanksgiving with my faculty interviewer when she found out I'd be alone. Is that a good sign?

(Ok I'm bored so I'm making **** up)

But seriously, congrats. 2 hours has to be a good sign.

That's sweet of you, thanks! It was very stressful so I hope it was a good sign, going here would be a dream come true. Can you imagine spending Thanksgiving with an interviewer?!

I'm not in this next batch of decisions - best of luck to you tomorrow!!

Good luck today everyone - hoping for as many As in this thread as we can! Something that has helped me in this process that I heard from an admissions dean is that it's not the acceptance that matters, it's doing the work. Going to try to remember that today.

What time can we expect decisions?

[toastedbutter]

According to Pinkys data anytime between now and 5pm today. Hopefully earlier

Don't want to bring up this nightmarish possibility, but is there any precedent for decisions coming out after 12/15, aka not today?

Yeah I've been wondering bc I honestly don't remember where we got the 12/15 date from because nothing like that was mentioned at my interview

they said it at my interview though that was 3 months ago, and MSAR says "
Acceptance notice - earliest date sent
December 15, 2023"

[Ajtbs06]

I believe at my interview 2 months ago I was told "mid-December". The 15th is exactly "mid" lol so I'm still holding out hope.

[JukeBoxHeroo]

Over the last 3 years it has been between the 10th - 15th. Although ofc sometimes things change, but there is a little bit of a pattern that would suggest we get it today. Goodluck to everyone tho!!

Man's prob blazing it up with Sloan Kettering right now

[JukeBoxHeroo]

I didn't interview here, but I did email with their admissions office a while back about something else and they mentioned they had some retirements that were causing some delays in their office. I believe their longtime Assistant Dean for Admissions Paul White retired in October, and he had worked at Hopkins for over two decades. If any year won't follow the typical pattern, it might be this one. That said, it's definitely possible you guys hear back later today. Good luck to all!

Dean White retired :0 Dang. I saw him at my interview and he was so nice to everyone

[toastedbutter]

With him and VMazza their office has been slammed with losing key staff it seems

True I forgot VMazza also retired. So yea I wouldn't be surprised if this year is slightly different with the timing of everything

[BaileyBoo20]

The way I have been CONSTANTLY refreshing this page and my inbox

[rainbowbunny]

I’m pretty sure at my interview the new dean said Dec 15, unless I’m remembering wrong
