got into the EAP program.

i’m very curious to see how it works- a few of my friends who were accepted won’t be applying till next cycle so i guess out of those 5 acceptances, some will be for next cycle (?)

i’ll let y’all know as i learn more!

Congrats Cranberry! Appreciate all your info on this thread and I wish you luck!

Y'all, I'm so upset. I found out that my my grad school made a transcript error, listing that I made all Bs this summer instead of all As. I have a terrible undergrad science gpa but worked very hard in my masters' program, even making a 4.0 this summer. I I called the school and got them to correct and then send the correct transcripts but I'm terrified that I'll get autorejected for how low this made my grad gpa seem on top of my already low undergrad gpa. I'd already applied to all TMDSAS schools and 20 AACOMAS schools - I emailed Tyler and hope they are willing to wait for my better transcript :'(

above ground work starting at the med ed building!

east texas ties?

Thought I responded already, sorry - no TX ties. Grew up in a (very) small town and current job has focus on expanding access to healthcare across my current state (thinking that’s what has benefitted me)

that's awesome! Congratulations!

guests. Y'all are making it sound like a wedding invitation with "bringing your +1"

If you have one, I think it is acceptable to bring your SO especially if this will become their hometown too.
Or, you could bring 1 or both parents.
The day might be very festive & welcoming and all that, but remember it's a chance for you, the applicant, to begin to picture yourself a part of the campus and you don't want to get too distracted.

Like any good guest let them know if you are bringing anyone with you.

AHHHH just got an interview invite here and am thrilled! From the area, interned here in college back when the med school was just an exciting rumor so it would be SUCH a full circle dream come true to get in!!
Congrats! when were you complete?

I was complete on the18th and was sent the interview invite on the 19th! 🙂 I have really strong ties to the hospital and the region but my stats are not what I would like them to be so I was honestly so shocked and happy

lol I'm bringing my mom bc she lives nearby and none of my college friends could drive out to East Texas on a school/week night

hi! so i received an interview invite and will by interviewing next month. i have 0 ties to East Texas. i'm a bit nervous for the interview, considering that i just read a statement that said like over 30 of the 40 current students have direct ties to East Texas. at this point i feel like i got a pity interview invite. anyways, looking for advice for the interview to stand out as someone not from the regions! thanks 🙂

so many of the students had ties last year because many of the local applicants have been waiting for the med school to open to apply, i think we’ll see a little less direct ties this year and more invites to people who have ties to the mission.

i don’t think there’s such thing as a pity invite 😉 but i get the thought bc i feel like that about another school i’m interviewing at. just remind yourself that if they invited you, they can see you being there! the interview is MMI so the best prep is just practicing answering questions with their values / mission in mind. they don’t ask any traditional interview questions.

Don't sell yourself short! The fact that you got an interview shows that you still have a strong "mission fit"- they think you're likely to want to help improve rural medicine in our region! I would focus on talking about your experiences with underserved communities. 🙂

out of curiosity, anyone else interviewing thursday? it was originally the day for EAP but since a major portion of the EAP group isn’t going until next year, did they open it up to others?

also, per a friend who interviewed earlier they may send out As next week! (eap has to wait until Jan)

Can confirm but people who interviewed 10/21 will not be considered for this round.

like 10/26? I'm not EAP and am interviewing then! looking forward to meeting everyone! ♥♥♥

Does anyone know if they send out invites according to when you were complete? I was complete on 09/30 and it's been crickets :-(

Didnt you finish your interview in first batch?
nope, i rescheduled because i couldn’t interview before EAP acceptances in order to be eligible for EAP. they accepted so many EY25 people into EAP that i guess they just opened those dates (26th & one in early Dec) up since most of them are interviewing next year.

but yes i was originally scheduled for the first interview date.
