2023-2024 Washington State

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My understanding is that we could begin sending those requests 1 week after the “reply by deadline” , which would be next Monday the 25 th.

Got my rank today. Requested it after they sent the update and mentioned we could request it.

Do we think there will be much more movement now that the April 30 deadline is over?
I’ve been wondering too. How much deeper do we think it will go? There is such little activity on this forum for WSU. Would love to hear from those with As that might still be waiting on other WLs. C’mon y’all! UW seems to be moving through their Alternate list so hoping for the best.

Yes but still need it to move about 14 more spots. Long shot I know but still hoping.
If you don't mind me asking, how much has it moved since you last checked before the deadline? Based on previous years, I think 14+ more spots at this point is still very possible.

Edit: Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

I’m waiting on UW. The WL portal is at 22 (I’m 26). Pending what happens, I may surrender an A at WSU.

The UW WL seems to be slower compared to previous years. My suspicion is that the FAFSA debacle has either 1. Slowed down the entire process in general or 2. Resulted in the top competitive applicants choosing their more affordable, in-state public schools vs waiting to hear about aid from the more expensive out of state / private schools. This would cause a WL backlog all the way down the chain. That’s my theory at least. This whole process is torturous. Hang in there everyone.

I started in the low 20s when the waitlist was formed and got the A call on Tuesday. I hope this is helpful at all :/ the waiting is so hard but there’s still plenty of time and in previous years there has been movement into July. Hang in there you guys 💗

I’m very hopeful you all get in soon. The waitlisters are the real ones. Weird thought, but I’d prefer my future classmates to be fellow waitlisters. You all know the real pain. Trauma bonding. You got this.

Hi everyone!
Anyone have a sense of the amount research opportunities available for WSU students (especially if you’re hoping to match into a competitive specialty)?

Research is technically a requirement at WSU but I’ve heard it’s really what you make of it. I have a friend that got their name on 11 papers and matched into one of their top choice residency programs at a T10 school last year. From what I gathered at second look, you can definitely do some cool research at any of the 4 campuses!

Awesome! Thanks for the information🙂

hello! i don't know what spot i was the week prior to my acceptance, but i was no. 26 after the April 30 PTE deadline, at the beginning of May. hope that helps a little!

Hi everyone! Congratulations on your acceptances! I'm a rising 2nd year student and have 2 rooms available in the house I'm at if anyone is looking for a place to live still. It's in 5 mile prairie which is a little further from campus (~20 min), but it's a pretty nice/safe neighborhood. Message me if anyone is interested in getting more details!

Hello! I'm an incoming MS1 at WSU Medical School and also have a room available in a house with myself and two other roommates if anyone is looking for a place to live!
The house is quite spacious is located 10 min by car from campus and the rent is quite affordable!
If you are interested, please message me for more details!

Hello!! I am an applicant in the current 2024-2025 cycle and I was put on waitlist. I was wondering for the people on waitlist last cycle:
1. The email says the waitlist will be released in March, am I automatically on the waitlist or do I need to accept my spot?
2. How does movement on the waitlist work like will I get an email if I get off or will I get a call?
