Hello, OS, completed secondary Oct 25th. Does anyone know the average time between completed secondary to interview invite? Not sure what to expect. Thanks in advance!
Not even sure tbh! Mine was completed October 21 so we’re in the same boat. Might be a bit early but I sent in an update letter cause Wayne’s my top🥲
none of us really know. I'm IS with strong ties and submitted 7/26 with nothing yet. People are getting II that submitted in Sept while July people have had radio silence, it seems like there isn't really an order

No new admissions offers so far, but 262 IIs given out in a week.

Hopefully some waitlist movement goes on soon. Last year some people got off the waitlist after being on it for about a week:luck:

I applied here last year before receiving my MCAT. I withdrew after receiving it. Their MCAT average went up even higher this year, so while my retake was much higher, I still didn't apply here this cycle; OOS, in their 10th percentile MCAT range, and the $100.00 secondary fee (plus another primary app fee). They are one of the few schools still accepting applications and just sent me an email encouraging me to apply (probably sent to all former applicants). Worth the money or nah?

Fwiw I got an II as someone OOS, no ties to Michigan, also within 10th percentile MCAT. It is quite late to be applying MD now though. I submitted 9/1 and even that was pretty late.

Oh it's very late and I didn't have any intention of applying anywhere else. The only reason I was considering it was because they sent me an email encouraging me to apply; they must also know how late it is as well, no?

It's really just how open am I to parting with $145.00 (between primary and secondary).

In any instance, thank you for the response.

I submitted a primary but decided to not do the secondary…but they’ve been sending me quite a few emails recently to submit a secondary saying that there’s still 600 II available. It’s soo late I’m the cycle now but should I bother since they keep emailing?

If you had a solid reason for not completing your app to this school, stand by your decision.
But if you have no acceptances yet to other schools, consider doing this one

I don’t have a valid reason lol, I just didn’t wanna spend the money this late in the cycle and they barely look at me me because it’s already November. But if there’s a chance they will and they insist there’s still spots then sure!

Thanks for this; I know you were responding to another poster but I asked a similar question above.

I reached out to their admissions office and they also encouraged me to go ahead and submit my application. I was told by someone else (a current student) that the application window is still open for a reason. The "apply early" med school application logic is strategic and about your "profile" being reviewed at the same time admissions folks are considering other folks with the same "profile" as they build a class and just seats remaining, but to apply if you otherwise would have done so earlier in the cycle. That also seems to be your argument as well so I went ahead and submitted.

We still have 40 minutes before their admissions people go home for the day. Maybe they'll pull through 😆
Don't forget that they've been sending things out after hours this year! A bunch of people have gotten IIs on Saturdays after 5 PM haha

Are there any current students here who would be willing to answer some questions about their experience? 🙂

Stupid question but where can I find the zoom links and information for my actual interview? I've checked my portal and email so many times and I can't find anything agh
They email you the zoom link for the first session the day before, then on the day of interview, the portal starts allowing you to open individual MMI/interview links.

does wayne state send you a secondary directly after you submit your primary?

Well, in the opposite turn of events, I just got an acceptance letter! OOS 🙂
Congrats!! Not me panicking now because I was supposed to be on that tour but had to reschedule last minute. Hopefully they didn't take that personally hahahaha
Hopefully I'll see you there in the fall 🙂

Is it worth submitting a letter of interest if I have yet to receive an II? I was complete 8/7 and saw that in the additional documents/updates section that Wayne State only wants applicants to upload something if it is significant to the application. I'm not sure if a letter of interest is "significant" enough to upload.

WL earlier, interviewed 10/13. Both of my interviewers complemented my answers, complemented my LORs, and my faculty interviewer said they thought I'd get it. Really disappointed as well.

Anyone submit secondary in July and still not hear anything back yet? 🙁 LM 71

Same here. II went really well imo but got WL. They complimented my answers, were impressed by the questions I asked, etc..
Hoping we make it off

I'm a current M4 and I'll gladly answer any questions you have. I only check SDN a few times a week though so I may not get back to you right away.

Hey guys I have a question I would raelly appricaite if someone was to answer it. in here it says final mcdat date is sept 8th, which i think means you could have wrote the mcat on sept 8 and still

But is it still possible to have submitted your primaires and gotten your secondaries before you even have taken the mcat?????

If someone can answer it i would really appriciate it, thanks

It’s unlikely to get a secondary application from many schools that screen for GPA and MCAT without an MCAT score in your application. It’s best to know what your score is by May when you begin your application
