Hi!

I'm planning on applying to MSOM for the 2027 cycle. I'm a junior right now but I'm worried about my stats. Would any accepted students be willing to share their stats. I just want to get an idea of what they are expecting. Thank you and congrats to everyone that got in!!

for those that paid the deposit, how long did it take to receive the link for the GroupMe? I paid over a week ago and still nothing.

Has anyone got an interview invite recently? How long after submitting your secondary, did you get an invite to interview?

Interviewed today with Meritus! The interview was so chill. I loved the person who interviewed me. They were so calm, kind, and made the interview conversational. It did not feel like an interview by the end. I couldn’t have had a better experience here. Very excited for this school.

WL today, II 5/8…praying there’s still hope for us this cycle🤞

I believe it is, but Amanda the housing coordinator said leases are legally binding after June 1st.
What do you mean they’re legally binding? I’m currently on a waitlist but don’t know if I’ll get in before June 1st so will probably have to pay the deposit, does that mean I’ll get refunded still? And if I break the lease what are the repercussions

I’m not sure how it works being on the waitlist, but once you sign your lease you’re locked in after June 1st for the entire first year.

I feel like this is extremely unfair, especially since this process is already stressful. legally binding students into a lease to make sure they commit before the cycle is even over feels wrong. esp since the DO cycle was 1. extended and 2. has a lot of movement in june. this is pretty frustrating

I agree, this is actually kinda crazy. It shouldn’t be legally binding. It should just be a housing deposit you can get back not something you have to pay a whole year for, I wonder if that’s even legally allowed
June is really early because most waitlist movement can happen up until July

Yeah, I wish they had done a security deposit due closer to the date of move-in. I’m debating whether to wait out another school I’m waitlisted at.

I’m waitlisted at two schools, and one of them is my top choice because it’s closer to home. I don’t want to let go of my only acceptance though. I think I’ll pay the deposit by May 31st if I don’t hear back and if I get off the waitlist after June 1st, I’ll try to ask to terminate my lease or something
Same boat with the school being closer to home. Honestly, I don’t know how the lease could be legally binding to the school.

I read through the lease and it says "Upon Default, Landlord may terminate this Lease... and accelerate all Rent due for the remainder of the Term... Tenant shall remain responsible for all Rent occurring for the remainder of the Term... Tenant shall also be liable for all costs incurred by Landlord in re-letting the Premises…” in section 19

ughh this makes me very anxious about what to do if I get off the other waitlists after June 1st 🙁

Wow that’s crazy, now I’ll beyond confused and stressed… what are you guys on waitlists doing

The acceptance letter says “All lease agreements must be signed and the housing deposit paid by June 30th.” I’m in the same boat, waiting for another waitlist. I’m gonna hold onto this acceptance and just not sign a lease until the deadline gets closer. Should most likely hear back from most waitlists by June 30th

Waiting until the last possible minute. If I’m not off my waitlist by the last week of May I’ll try to plead my case. I paid my admissions deposit with the June 30th date in mind, if it is was June 1st when I was accepted I might have taken the deferred acceptance option instead.

There’s atleast 5 of us on here that are waiting to hear back from other schools and not wanting to do the lease and deposit by the June 1st deadline, the June 30th deadline makes a lot more sense, I’m not sure why it’s so fast and early when they haven’t even sent out the background checks or immunization stuff
It makes no sense to me

This!

I’m not sure what you guys can do to get an extension, but another option is to try and request a housing exemption. You can fill out a form that asks if you live within a certain distance from the school, own property, or have a medical reason for not being able to stay in the apartments. It then goes to a committee and they approve or deny it. I filled it out and was approved pretty fast.

How did you get the housing exemption? I don’t live in the area or have a medical condition or own property

Mine personally was for a medical exemption for my son. We have family nearby and he needs in home therapies so staying near them is better. But they didn’t make us confirm anything or send in any proof so it was very simple. If you can come up with another good reasoning why you can’t stay in the dorms you could email that to Amanda and see if she can help you.

anyone have any idea how long the regular waitlist and guaranteed seat next year waitlist is? I know that's an impossible question to answer but I am losing it friends </3
