If the class isn’t full yet, what is the delay in mass accepting ppl off the waitlist?


Also when they say until July do they mean through July, or like they stop July 1st

My thoughts exactly. I feel like it is full but not everybody has committed yet. If it’s not full it doesn’t make sense for anybody, because the less notice they give the less likely it is for us to end up committing. I need to sign a lease at my current acceptance and it’d be nice if I actually knew for sure where I was going with more than a month to go lol

commitment date was May 15, ucr is among the earliest to require a cte. The class is full. I hate how untransparent these schools are. Their discord is at like 120, for a class size of ~90. And I’m sure there are a couple admitted who don’t even know ab the discord. The only way now to get an A is if someone withdraws for some big reason, e.g pregnancy, death in the family or they flat out don’t want to be a doctor anymore. UCR admits aren’t waiting on waitlists anymore they were forced to withdraw from other wl on the 15 last month. I guess the only other way aside from a withdraw a spot would open up is if they have it approved in their budget for an additional student. This is where being a lower star applicant becomes an advantage. Odds or as days go by the waitlist of super qualified applicants are shrinking due to them having to commit to their other As. Those left with no As are the ones who are gonna benefit from here on out, or if they have an extremely late cte date at their other school. So it’s best not to beat yourself up too much about it, just keep the faith and stay positive.

agree but I wouldnt use the discord member # as a reference. There are loads of people in there who have not been accepted and are also on the waitlist. Over the past few weeks they have been asking admitted students about Haider #s and chances of getting off the waitlist.
 
Is anyone willing to call admissions for an update about how things look rn (like chances of being pulled off of the waitlist? I’m about to sign a lease OOS and would like to know my chances before committing 😭
 
Just called today & similar to what the other posts said she said the class isn’t full yet and those on the waitlist should expect to hear something from them within the next few weeks up until July. She also said if the class becomes full well be notified by email

You’re awesome for reaching out!! Thank you 🙏🏽 I just wish that they’d send an update email to waitlist applicants or something. The next cycle is starting right now, I feel like there should be some form of communication sent to us 2024-2025 applicants.
 
With the lack of communication and this process being dragged out, I think they’re not being completely honest. I suspect that they have extended enough acceptances to fill the class, it’s just all of those people have not committed yet. Hence their “class is not full” response technically stands, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re going to send more acceptances. It’s that part that they keep leaving out, which doesn’t sit right with me. I really hope that current ppl on the WL get pulled off of it and UCR communicates more clearly.

Good point… I’m just confused because UCR’s CTE date was May 15th?

It was! But I’m curious how much time they give WL applicants who were pulled off after the 15th to accept an offer. Can anyone who has been pulled off the WL chime in on this??
 
I think what ppl have mentioned b4 is correct. That the class isn't officially full, but they have extended enough acceptances to have a full class and not everyone has committed yet. When u get the call, the email doesn't come rt away. When u do get the email, you have 5 days to respond that u accept. When u do respond, they let AMCAS know so that ur CYMS tool will update but that isn't immediate either. Then u have another 5 days to CTE on the CYMS. So really, when u get off the WL it could potentially take up to 10+ days for that seat to be pending status. And many ppl who are getting off the WL are still waiting on other schools as well so they're holding out as long as they can before they accept or decline. So that's why it's taking so long 🙁 hopefully this provides some clarity

In all seriousness what does that statement even mean? It sounds like the process is pretty much over and if something happens last minute, then we’ll be chosen? How many people are on the waitlist? Gosh I wish UCR was more transparent

It think it really just means we’re cooked lol. It was a great run y’all but I just want to focus on the school I’ll be matriculating at. I really wish UCR was more transparent and communicated a lot more with us. Good luck guys!
