Has anyone been inside the new building? What were your thoughts?
I took the tour on Nov 9 and it wasn't finished yet. Perhaps one of the the current students could confirm, but I believe they said ppl would be allowed in around February.

They gave us a tour yesterday for Future DO day.

Still moving furniture and adding finishing touches, but otherwise it was all up and running. Honestly the building was quite nice, and you could tell they made a point to get lots of feedback from current students. For example, they had a "furniture fair" at the Biddeford campus where they had the students demo and vote on things like seating and study spaces to get their opinions.

Donor lab (cadaver) is outfitted with cutting edge stuff, displays and surgical lights, all the rooms are connected so you can check out other donors with unique anatomy while your class is in the lab. 4 people per donor, and they spend lots of time covering anatomy on a weekly basis and integrate things like radiology and histology with the dissections.

There's an OMM clinic open to the public, and clinical rooms for OSCE's where the actors come and go.

Kitchen and fridge space for COM students, spot for a grab and go spot for snacks.

Lecture hall wasn't fully finished yet but very large and gorgeous, with a MASSIVE screen. Study rooms throughout are wired with microphones and screens so you can participate in lecture on campus without actually being in the room. Group study spaces similar. Little things like charging ports and wi-fi boosters for connectivity. OMM lab with multiple screens and an instructional podium for demonstrations. Speaking of, they gave an OMM demonstration linked to a case study taugt by some of the OMM fellows, and had a student with a camera to project the demo live in the classroom for everyone to see.

Overall the space was very modern, kind of felt like a WeWork building. SimLab was cool, kind of what you'd expect and shared with nursing students and stuff. Personally I think SimLabs are a little corny and the uncanny valley mannequin that blinks has never really impressed me, but it's there.

They had a lot of 2nd year students who stayed a little into their winter break to answer questions, give tours, hangout. Everyone was super kind, professional, and down to earth. Gave some presentations on financial aid, history of the school, etc. Good vibes.

If anyone has more questions hmu or dm I'd be happy to answer. The kinds of things I learned more about but I'm still deciding on are clinical rotations and research.

Hey, I really appreciate this!! Was also wondering where clinical rotations take place. I rem during my interview they said they do have research opportunities (I'm specifically interested in cancer research and they said they do have opportunities for students), but I also would love to learn more about rotation sites and research opportunities.

I was supposed to have my interview today at 8:30 AM EST but ran into a severe tech error last minute (definitely my fault, I didn’t read the fine print on the interview invite and didn’t realize that you should not use iPads because their interview software doesn’t work with it, I also don’t own a laptop currently so I couldn’t do anything to fix the situation). They emailed me back and said that they’ll see if my interview can be rescheduled. Any advice on what I should do next? I’m terrified and so mad at myself.

To anyone interviewing: don’t use a tablet!

Hi, is anyone planning to send a Letter of Intent? If so, how long is your letter, and do you have any advice on structuring it effectively? Thanks so much!

Any current students available to answer a question?

Yesterday I had my interview (which I feel like I totally fumbled) and my interviewer mentioned a program out of the Bangor clinical rotation site where the med student follows a patient throughout their clinical treatment pathway at the hospital. I believe it’s over the course of the year that they work with this patient. I’d like to mention it in my thank you letter, but I don’t remember the programs name. I can’t seem to find it online and was wondering if anyone knows what this program is called?

I think it may be the Longitudinal Integrative Clerkship (not a current student though)

Does anyone know when the waitlist movement for this school starts?
Based off last year's thread it seems like the waitlist starts early/mid april and goes into the first week of school. Kinda crazy cause I know someone there who was accepted somewhere else, started school at that institution, got the last minute A from UNE in July and then had to move across the country to join them.

Anyone receive II recently or know how far out they send them this cycle? Completed 08.29 and still haven't heard anything 🙁

Has anyone who interviewed in December heard anything? This wait is brutal. I saw new II were reported on cycle track today

The waiting is brutal but I also understand that admissions must be going through a lot this time of year. I'm also worried about the outcome of the interview and housing.

Yeah, I’m sure they are crazy busy plus they even mentioned it might take longer to hear back due to the holidays. I’m facing a high deposit due early next week, plus Monday is a holiday so I’ve just been antsy for news today and was hoping I wouldn’t have to do this other deposit
Housing is definitely on my mind too. I’m a non trad moving with a family so we would be looking at buying a house in the area and prices are definitely steep.

I'm also non-trad but single no kids. There is one apartment that's close to campus that looks good for families. I'll send it via direct message. It even has playgrounds and is within walking distance of campus.

I’ll definitely take a look. Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it!
