When is the spokane EXCOM meeting? I heard it is typically on Fridays. Do you think we’ll hear back next week?
I think they have it on Friday's. From what I remember from the info session, they told us we should hear back tomorrow or Monday, but the email said by next Friday for sure!

For the acceptance letter, is there any downside to saying that we are accepting but still waiting to hear back from schools?

how much movement does the spokane site have? chances for top 4 alternate list?

My theory is that the committee is going down the list in order. That’s why the A’s we’ve been seeing are SUC from December dates. I’m guessing those of us who interviewed January will hear back next week sometime.
I don't think this is true. I interviewed last week on Thursday and got my A call on Friday just about 24h after my interview. Also, is there a group for accepted spokane students?

Good luck Idaho applicants, I may have heard that lots more interviews are going out this week and next. (from inside the op.) Also, news was just leaked to idaho wwami students today that the future of wwami idaho is in the air. Possibly, will be partnering with UofU in 2 years instead of UW...so only a few more wwami Idaho classes left (due to idaho legislature not liking the political ideologies of UW...booo)

Does anyone know if there is usually any alternate list movement in February when people can start to commit?

There probably is going to be some movement with most of the movement expected in April. If someone who has an acceptance to UW commits to enroll at a different school, they are immediately not considered for matriculation at UW and thus the next person on the alternate list will be offered an acceptance. Not sure how often they update the alt list/extend acceptances though.

This is wild. Any more info you can provide? Leaked how?
AFAIK U of U used to hold more seats for Idaho applicants (and I think UN-Reno did too at some point?) but now it's down to just 10 and of those 10, "at least" 2 go to Idaho applicants who completed high school or college in Utah so it's really just 8. I wonder if those students would still train in Moscow versus SLC. Crazy stuff!

A couple years ago I'd heard rumors of ICOM wanting to "become" WWAMI (also from "inside" sources) but doesn't seem like anything has come of that.

Update on waitlist movement possibility. It looks like most movement does happen in April/May. Last year #4 on the alternate list got the A on april 29th.

Out of curiosity does anyone know why the seattle cohort gets so far down the alternate list? Since seattle only accepts 40 more students compared to spokane like 100 vs 60

If I had to speculate, I would say because the Seattle applicant pool is generally more competitive and applicants are getting multiple As and choosing to go elsewhere. Perhaps the type of applicant that applies to each campus is a bit different. Maybe more Spokane applicants are from eastern Washington and are more likely to stay, thus increasing yield.

I think its per region/state iirc
Yes.....per AAMC "rules." Regional sites submit names of people they would like to enroll in their incoming WWAMI class on the Friday Excom meeting of the week in which they interview applicants. But the total Excom group votes on acceptance or rejection or wait listing for the regional sites. It can become a "Battle Royale" with the regional site people being passionate about the applicants they have chosen after interviewing and the Seattle Excom members questioning their decisions.

Idaho WWAMI interviews the week of Feb 10-13 so there will be an Excom meeting on the 14th. Unsure if any non-ID applicants will be presented after those are.

I just got an email saying I was awarded an OOR Tuition Waiver (I have been A to Seattle cohort) :,) Gives me IS tuition! I am so relieved!
