This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just interviewed here and I am completely amazed by everything this school had to offer. The building, the facility and the resources are top notch! I really hope that I am accepted because this is my top school!

It was very casual and the faculty was very welcoming and really nice and conversational. They make you feel very comfortable!

That sounds like a great school I wish you the best and hope you are accepted

I withdrew earlier today from the selection process and released an interview spot for this coming Saturday, December 7. Good luck to all!

Hey there. When you withdrew your interview, did you call or email? What did you say exactly? I'm planning to do the same but not really sure how to word it. Thanks!

Have any waitlisters heard anything?
Nothing here, I interviewed in August. When I interviewed they said it was too early for a waitlist, it was going to be either yes or no, but I was waitlisted. Still hoping for the best, maybe they'll offer some spots after the first set of deposits are due. Best of luck to ya!

Coming from the viewpoint of a current student:

There is a very welcoming env't here. The school is definitely Christian, that being said, there has been no discrimination towards other religions or sexual orientations. I love it here.

Also, part of the reason they may not have a policy yet is because there a many things that are being developed as we go along. There are a lot of things in the works that the school has a schedule for when they will be started or initiated.

Pretty sure that having any policy against LGBT or anything such as religion is against the law and will probably not ever be written because Campbell states they are equal opportunity... So creating policy affairs such things will set them up for justifiable law suits

when were you complete and good luck at interview
Thanks! I submitted everything on 10/17, I reached out to the school via email on 10/30 to see if I was complete & received a reply of yes. On 11/13 they sent me another email stating that I was complete.

That is great news I wish you the best

Got the email today stating my "secondary application and fee have been received." Is this the "complete" email or should I be on the lookout for another? My undergrad said they sent my letters on Monday, the same day I sent in the secondary/fee.

They will send you another email stating your app is complete. I wish you the best of luck!

Interviewing on the 16th from California!!

Anyone have any advice for transportation/hotel stay/interview tips for Campbell??

Flying into Raleigh? A lot of people stay at the Microtel in Lillington. It is only about 5 min away and reasonably priced. I stayed at the holiday inn located in Dunn 10-15 min away.
As far as the interview goes my best advice is to reflect specifically on why you may want to attend. Be confident but don't act like you know everything. Ask questions, I asked why the interviewers chose Campbell and got a lot of great reasons that increased my interest. The interview is to see if the school is a fit for you as well, so keep that in mind.

Withdrew my interview here for Dec. 16th today. I hope one of you guys get it!

Good luck!

How long do you think it takes for then to process a secondary and reply with an answer?

hey everyone! I have the interview coming up and I wanted to ask my fellow camels =) how the interview process went? I find it slightly redundant that there are 3 back to back interviews - were many of the questions asked similar? Were there any specific questions you remembered that might have tripped you up- healthcare, ethics etc.? I know everyone has been saying it is very conversational so I guess thats a good thing!

Thanks for the help, can wait to interview here!!

Truly conversational and mine weren't all that repetitive. Mine asked about some of my classes, my essays, and background but also why DO, why Campbell, what do I want my patients to say about me after I'm done, etc. That sort of thing. I got no crazy ethical or healthcare questions. Be sure to have questions for them prepared as a lot of variance takes place from that. I asked why they chose Campbell and then questions about their specific dept (I got them to talk about themselves for a bit ). Honestly, I was extremely nervous for them especially since they were my first ever interviews but they are truly not bad. The only curveball was a random multiple choice question on genetics that I may or may not have gotten right but she just wanted to see my thought process not necessarily the right answer. And that was one specific interviewer. No worries. Be sociable, happy, honest, and excited about the up-and-coming school and you'll do great!

Best of luck!

How do most people get from Raleigh to CUSOM? Google says it's about 45 miles from the airport, so I'm guessing renting a car is the best option?

Can anyone who has committed to this school already give me insight to how long the Certiphi background check takes to process? I am hoping to hear back from DMU next week but if I don't get in, I need to have everything in to Campbell by 12/20 to hold my spot there. I don't quite want to start that process yet if I don't absolutely have to haha. Loved Campbell btw, but DMU is just a teensy bit higher on my list (ie, closer to home). Thanks!

When I did the background check, mine was instantaneous. After I went to LabCorp, it took about a day to see the results logged onto the website.

I know you all hear a lot of nice promises from programs out on the interview trail so just thought I would update you all on a major promise CUSOM made, residency seats for its students... this is just the first few of many more to come. 63 new seats and we haven't even finished our first semester.... NBD.

Any updates if they plan on open in up EM, general surge, or any other residencies that's not primary care? Just wondering.

I talked to the Dean a few weeks ago about EM, and he said they are working on developing a program right and working on getting it approved. They also recently have been approved for a sports medicine fellowship as well. I didn't ask about the others, but I know they plan on doing general surgery and possibly ortho. The Dean has extensive experience in opening residencies and has the right connections to get it done. Overall, they plan on opening 150+ spots by the time we graduate which is pretty unheard of for a new school to accomplish, and so far they have delivered on promises.

Definitely, at this site alone they are additionally planning for general surgery, general psych, EM, and ortho. I believe they are also exploring more and other clinical site partners will develop some as well (OB/GYN being a prominent one). They are looking at a Harnett Health/Wake Med partnership for some, and other sites I forget... anyway, I would guess the FM and IM came out first and at Southeastern Health because one, we have a Regional Dean already established there (who really knows what he's doing) and two, the need there is great for those slots and I'm sure the AOA is particularly quick to approve primary care, if you get what' I'm saying.

This is why I cancelled my interviews at Lecom and Mucom, I think the opportunities post graduation here will be awesome.

Decided to accept my seat here! Thank you to everyone on this thread (that I creep on everyday) for helping me make my decision 🙂

These forums sure have been great for this entire process! Campbell was a pretty awesome school and I am about to put down my deposit this week!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the PA program in the same building as the medical school? The DPT program starts there in January, and the nursing school is planned to open next Fall. It's going to be a busy building. 🙂

They are building another building on the medical campus
