England - Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wrote this last night and didn't want to post it until the morning. It's not technically the morning in the game yet, but here you are bringing it back up so I'll post it (essentially) unedited as I planned to below:

Interesting. Sat on this until morning. But my role is extremely literal and is an actual person. Some of the roles being Disney cartoons is odd. Though yes, I did see cartoon Robinhood being used in the write up, it does seem very very odd. I could see the kill being the cartoon as a stylistic decision by the mod for the write up but do find it odd for the ACTUAL ROLES to be cartoons given I am a literal human (and these robin hood roles, though mythical, were actual people). And I'm saying this despite some mod talk about druids and such. Druids still feels more real than people literally being cartoons and the mod leaking out a hint overnight (from the reported info given about the steal) that there are literal cartoon roles that did something. To give away: what the role is, that the role is a cartoon, and what the role does.... And to have the placement of characters be tied to their role... Just seems extra unlikely to give *that* much away on multiple levels from the mod.
Yeah the theory is trash

Although I know fictional is possible, but not necessarily cartoon.

You're all new to me. SAR and Samac. I've already confused you two before. Thankfully (in a morbid way) one is dead now so I can simplify it down.
So you were trying to call oht SAR and asked about the furry man with the little hat and ask who else said that when she was the one who said it? What now

Could someone who has enough time to actually look into this Tell me if msP is actually correctly utilizing that feature of the website? I see that she has backed off of it. But it doesn't actually mean she's wrong. Someone actually do me the favor and see if her theory really does check out. If it does check out, I don't care what boblob's excuse is. That's good sleuthing because I'm still baffled as to what he meant when he posted that too and I honestly believe it could be an accidental miss-post.

But her theory on using the last scene times needs to actually check out based on how this website works

I mean how it works checks out. I was warned when I wolfed and turned it off.

I was just trying to get whoever said it to let me know if that was what they were literally told. Like those words. Just finding it really hard to believe the characters are cartoons "in world" of the game

How the hell was the queen murdered in bed!!!!! If there's a protector/ bodyguard in this game (not role fishing) you messed up big time. Why did you guys not protect SAR when it was obvious that she was a royal?
What's weird is it doesn't say her ability or that she's vanilla

It's a long day until 9pm tomorrow, but I'm busy at work and already feel bad checking this so many times. So I'm going to let this sit here until people have enough time to double and triple confirm this.

Did that close our your PMs and are you unable to make another?
Sorry, samac answered this before I got to it, but yes to closing/can open another.

Sorry, I'm having a really rough symptoms day and I might not be on as much. Day 120 of this...

I said it in bioshock and I'll say it again here, it seems like I have a talent for village reading wolves D1 and jumping in their pockets. I'm trying to only move people into village/leans if I'm real confident about them to prevent this from happening for a third time. No shade, I thought you sounded like yourself but I cant just ignore things that ping me before I move people into village lean.
I thought in ggoats you didn’t village read me until last day?

What. Are you angleshooting???
She is not angleshooting (had to look it up) bc she is wrong. So to be 99% sure (as opposed to 100% and forget hedging that 1%) and be 100% wrong is either wolf or very poor player. She is the first person to be 99% sure on here. I can't be the only bad distraction she has pursued and I assume to get villagers off other pursuits.

She can probably tell you best since I would guess she has used it before.

What I meant when I said what? I am happy to clear it up

You're going to lose the crop!

So if I am a person that PM's, I would very, very likely use my legal PM. I am happy to stand by the fact I have still not used my PM with anyone. I am willing to verify this with someone in my area if that would convince you...

Maybe they were "changing" not guarding. Maybe changing from villager to wolf?

At least from a previous conversation I had with Pippy two years ago, she doesn't like putting easy-to-detect conversion hints in writeups. So if something were to happen, it'd probably be more subtle than that.

Sheesh, Again. Are you this caught up and upset about it? Or are you a wolf laying it on too thick?

A fat furry creature in a funny hat threw me in jail last night, which kind of sounds like the sheriff of Nottingham... shook me down for coins first too. But if it is, does that mean a villager tried to kill me?
What part of this are you interpreting as a kill attempt?

Until I am more experienced and smarter, less is more. But for instance, not giving away royalty people who were obvious reasons. Didn't want wolves chasing them down. Also, don't want chased down by wolves by being obvious villager.
OK, full stop, you need to know that wolves already know who the villagers are (excepting for a few rare third parties, but let's set that aside for now)

There are wolves, and they know each other and get to talk together in wolf pack chat to plot, and kill at night. They are also known as informed minority.

There are villagers, and they are uninformed majority because they don't know any indentities besides their own.

Some villagers have special powers, this makes them a PR or power role. THAT must be kept secret from wolves.

There's about 10000 variations on this, but it covers about 95% of what you need to know about affiliation as a noob. Choas, 3P, true neutral, multiball set ups, lone wolves, converts, etc, you'll learn as it needs to be brought up on thread, don't worry for now.

You are not trying to keep being a villager a secret from anyone, Ok? The more village you can seem the better, no matter what you actually are.

1) getting Telenovela deja vu

2) why was it necessary to kill meats N1

Been wondering about this. SAR makes sense with it being clear she was royal from not-winning the election, then the writeup hinting the queen was the one who broke the initial election. TE and vmh I don’t see a clear reason for. With an alleged 4th kill attempt on genny I think it’s likely at least one isn’t wolf-aligned.

I think vmh appeared in only your wolfreads, but she wasn’t in any village reads, either, iirc. My first thought was someone trying to plant sus on you, second thought that you wanted it to look like that, but that line of thinking is too WIFOMy to be useful right now.

I think most likely, if both TE and vmh were killed by wolves, is an attempt to avoid people reading into the kill choice by killing people on both sides of a pretty visible argument. I know I’ve advocated for that as a wolf.

What information do you think people should be putting on the thread, if you’re worried about identifying villagers but also concerned about identifying wolves?
Just depends. If you suspect something then more likely post unless you want further assurance. If you know something, then be patient, set a trap, see how many other wolves/villagers come sniffing around. That way you get more than one person with your knowledge

So I was on thread earlier (before pippy announced night close) and bob made this post:

I decided to check him out and then I saw that he was in PMs 1 minute after he made that post (I found nothing wrong with the post itself I just wanted to ISO him). I found him being in PM sus so I waited again and about 30 minutes later he was in PMs again but he was barely on thread. So I asked him:

because he could very well have been PMing Barks, Capri, or dina. Right after I asked him about PMs he turned off his last seen. When he turned if off he still didn't come on thread and answer my questions. He seemed to turn it back on afterwards when I called him out on thread saying it was a little too late. When he did get around to answering my questions, he said that he wasn't PMing anyone in the game.
I'm not sure if this is angle shooting or not. And he could have been in mod PM. But it doesn't look good.

But: look you wide for your poetic source
Have secrets shared, but from you divorced
~
But players, violence doth only violence beget
So though death may anon at the cut of the knife
The spirits untamed may laugh still yet
For I will have poetry in my life.
Does the last paragraph mean vmh can still write in the writeups (presumably as long as it’s not strategy-related)? I hope so because having vmh in that role sounds so fun. Could just be unrelated to vmh’s death, Pippy saying she’ll continue to do writeup poetry.

The first paragraph sounds like there’s still at least one player who can influence writeup strategically, though.

I don't think that is a hint they're not all wolves, or refers to pack members and any 3P. But doubt it will be literal enough to really hell the hunt

And why angery react from dead VMH on this?
*************
The react wasn't a strategy react at all, so please don't read it that way, I just share similar sentiments to what Dubz has already expressed on thread about this
*************

Personally, I'm leaning the Bob/MsP thing as v/v.
What’s your read on Dubz?

These quotes are pinging me a little bit, like they could be an act.
2) why was it necessary to kill meats N1

And we had 3 kills?? Oh boy

Also, I understand the reasoning for Dubz voting for April. It makes sense logically. But it was also, in retrospect, a potentially easy thing to jump on as a wolf and make excuses for later. Considering Dubz’s lack of reevaluation of that position as the day went on, I have suspicions.

I'm not 100% sure where I lean on dubz. I'm agreeing with her comment about LIS flying under the radar this time though. I'm finding myself more worried about the late April voters (like post-MsP), but not sure that's enough to move dubz completely out of my neutrals yet.

i will say I’m pretty sure the sherrif of Nottingham is a wolf given we flipped a village thief that didn’t take it. It leaves a wolfy counterpart.
Was there something I missed that made you specifically think the thief was from Robin Hood? I just remember you saying that Robin Hood was your first thought for a notable English thief, which makes sense, but I don’t know how that transfers to the Sheriff based on the thief apparently being wolf-aligned (and I agree it isn’t village, since the writeup on vmh’s death seems to hint that there is an antivillage thief). Couldn’t it be some other fat, furry, antivillage thief?
