Liberty University COM (LUCOM) Discussion Thread 2013-2014

Do you guys get emails notifying you that you were complete? I paid and submitted my secondary but the sites seems a little wonky.

I have yet to get a complete email and I submitted everything the day after they sent me my secondary
 
Any predictions for first year acceptance stats?

MCAT: 24.5-25.0
GPA: 3.4
 
I'm not applying here but it seems like their MCAT requirements changed?

Applicants must have a cumulative score of at least 22 on MCAT and have no score less than 6 to be considered for admissions unless a waiver is granted by the LUCOM Dean. Preference for admission consideration is a MCAT > 25. MCAT scores < 3 years old may be submitted for consideration. An average of the highest scores on multiple MCAT examinations is not applicable for admission consideration.

I know people mentioned no less than an 8 but it says no less than 6 from their site.

We were referring to the requirement of an 8 in verbal mentioned in the academic catalog. They haven't held to that for everyone though.

Another matter...they said secondaries would be reviewed within 1-2 weeks and it is 2 weeks today.

I submitted within 24 hrs of the first day they sent it (Sept 12th) and they haven't done anything. Yes there are plenty of people who want to go here but their base of applicants is dwindling. I know of several people who have committed to other schools and others are headed that way, especially those who already have multiple acceptances.

I spoke to the director of admissions last Wednesday, he said OOS interviews would start late October/early November. I also applied the first day possible so I was curious to see if I was complete or not...he said the adcom was reviewing applications right now and will send out ii in the next few weeks.

And I wouldn't say their applicant base is "dwindling"...the season is just starting to hit its peak so there will definitely be an increase in # of apps sent to newer schools (especially people with 0 ii)

haha it was by email for October 8th 😱

The email made it seem like multiple faculty members reviewed my secondary

3.6c 3.89sci 24 (8/6/10) and some pretty neat ECs but not amazing.

Maybe they aren't holding strong to the 8 on verbal cut off. Thank the Lord. Lol.

Wow I have similar stats so hoping for that email. You got it today? I submitted my secondary on the 20th
 
How long after secondary submission did you get an ii? Did they send you a "complete email" or just send the ii? Congrats btw

Can anyone say anything about being a Muslim and going to this area of the world? I don't see a huge problem but just wondering since I don't have experience with religious schools.
 
Hey guys, I recently applied here. I just had a very quick question. I know their mission seems to be Christianity-based. If I am not a Christian myself, will that be a problem?

"The applicant should demonstrate a humanistic and service mentality consistent with the mission of the COM as demonstrated by action and involvement in outreach and service events. Each applicant’s personal values should be compatible with the Christian mission and environment of Liberty University."

I just got the ii this afternoon....scheduled for October 15th!
 
just got my ii for this school and it's my first ii

my stats are 9/7/10 and 3.3s / 3.7c , so i guess they're not being too strict on the 8+ in verbal

i'm an OOS
 
Got an II this afternoon too but have yet to call and schedule. I'll probably call in the morning tomorrow.
 
I also got an invite. Are they assigning you guys specific dates or giving you some to choose from?
