Sorry for any inconvenience, but you will need to contact AACOMAS to resolve this matter.

I just spoke with an AACOMAS rep on the phone... she explained that for those of us who submitted our applications prior to May 25th all MCAT scores should be synced to our applications by the end of June

I just received the same e-mail.

It's confusing because I already received a secondary email from another school stating that my scores meet their minimum criteria...meaning that another school already has my MCAT scores...

If MCAT scores haven't been synced yet, then how is it possible that the other school already has my scores?!

Just confused and bugging out a little...

+1, I also called AACOMAS and was told the apps submitted in early May don't have official MCAT scores yet. Looks like it would've been better off to submit later. So frustrating.

No worries about the confusion. Some COMs start with unofficial scores; others wait for official. MU-COM waits for official scores.

Thanks. AACOMAS is working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, AAMC did not start to release scores until May 25th, which was not communicated to AACOMAS or the COMs.

That's interesting. On my aacomas when I click to view the pdf of my application it shows my official MCAT score. I have even gotten an email from another com that they received my MCAT score and my secondary is complete there. Do you know if some may have slipped through?

While it can be confusing for applicants, each COM processes applications differently. Your official score could have been added to your application AFTER we first downloaded it. MU-COM downloads once a week. Other COMs may download more frequently.

A small batch of supplemental invites were just sent out. It is the first for 2016. More will be sent next week.

In the meantime, until complete MCAT and GPA data are received from AACOMAS tomorrow or Friday, we placed more applications on hold than usual. Do not be alarmed. Processing just started today.

EDIT: Right on cue! Received the secondary invite right after I posted this 🙂

@MU COM On my secondary it shows no character limit for the essays on my macbook and it lets me type as much as I want, but when I log in on a different computer it shows a 750 character limit and doesn't let me go past that. Do you know of any glitch that would be causing this?

Edit: I think it's my browser. Safari doesn't show the character count, but chrome does!

I appreciate that MU COM is on here to answer questions for prospective students, I wish more schools did this.

We are checking with our tech staff. The recommended browsers are Chrome and Firefox.

FYI, per AACOMAS, the data issues with missing GPAs and MCATs have been fixed. MCATs released as far back as May 5th have been added to 2016 applications. MU-COM has downloaded the revised applications and will process them next week. From there, we will begin our once-a-week download of new/revised apps.

@MU COM would it be wise to use the additional information section to describe what I plan on doing between my graduation and matricultion? I have 6 months off and plan on working as a scribe during that time. Can I also write about what makes me unique? (parents were immigrants, 1st gen college student, etc). I already touched on the diversity a little in my PS.

Or would adcoms just not want to read extra stuff?

The last question on the supplemental is optional, so you can share anything about your candidacy.

I received two of the exact same emails from here back to back on the 22nd saying my application was received but is on hold waiting for my MCAT scores. My MCAT has been AACOMAS verified for about 2 weeks now and other schools have received it. Is MU-COM just releasing the supplemental in waves or should I be worried?

Edit: I see now that others have had the same issue but I don't understand why I received 2 of the same email from MU-COM letting me know my primary was received.

In summary, MU-COM only downloads applications once a week. We also only process applications with official MCAT scores. Other COMs are different. We apologize for the 2 emails, but it happens periodically if there are server timeouts. Sorry.

Now that the MCAT and GPA issues at AACOMAS have been [mostly] fixed, we will be processing apps today. Your patience is appreciated.

So it seems that secondaries are going out on Tuesdays. Is there a certain day that MUCOM downloads LORs? I have sent them via interfolio and they are the only things that MU-COM needs from me to be able to mark me as complete.

We will begin downloading and screening LORs soon after the July 4th holiday. When letters are added to your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email from us per our 2015-2016 Guidelines.

Hopefully I'm not overthinking this question in the secondary... wanted to know how it should be answered.

Other than MU-COM, have you applied to any medical school in the past?

Is this asking ab0ut past cycles or current cycle? This is my first cycle I'm applying to any medical school and I am applying to other schools of course. Should I answer yes or no?

The question is about past/previous cycles. Your answer is "no."

A quick question: Please explain any gaps longer than holidays and semester breaks after enrolling in or graduating from formal coursework.

I started to work after graduation from my school. There is no gap between my work. Do I need to list my work as explanation of things I am doing after graduating from my school?

You do realize that they also have access to your experience section from your primary application, right? Anyway, I am in the same position as you. I just put no gap after my graduation.

Regarding the question about gaps in coursework, would you like to see a detailed list of jobs held during that time or an overview of that time period. I ask because I have two gaps in schooling. One was about a year long and the second was seven years long where I held multiple jobs in the same career field.

Essentially, the question asks about gaps in education or employment. We will assume that you have already listed the individual jobs elsewhere in the application. Accordingly, please explain the reason(s) for the gaps.

As long as our LORs are completed and submitted to AACOMAS, MUCOM should download them automatically correct?

Did your letters get downloaded from Interfolio? I am also curious what day they download them since they said in the email it is only once a week.
 
Do any current students have any information on how supportive MU-COM is to students with families? My wife and I have one child and we are expecting our second in January.

They haven't been downloaded yet. I'm guessing based on MU COM's post today that it will be in the next couple days though
 
Still no secondary application 🙁....application was processed at the end of May....not sure what's going on.

I'm on my phone so I can't check it but the date should be on my MDapps which is linked under my name.

Edit: It's actually not on my MDapps. I just checked and I submitted on 6/29
