You just got the email today? Also on the interview waitlist!
I got an email that said I was waitlisted for an interview.
Yesterday morning at 3:24? am something around thereYou just got the email today?
I also have not heard anything 🙁This might be my paranoia talking, but I'm just getting a tad bit nervous. I have yet to hear from them and people are already getting accepted and even interviewed waitlisted. Would no news mean that I most likely got rejected? When do they usually let you know if they aren’t going to consider you?
I think they do one interview/week! At least that's what it sounded like from when I was at the interviewAnyone know how many interview days they have a week?
Yes, guests are welcome to both the tour and lunch.

People got rejected already? There is no set timeline you’ll hear from them. There are people I know who applied and got rejected (within like the past week or so). So not hearing anything back doesn’t mean it’s a good or bad thing. They’re very busy with interviews, acceptances, etc. that this process takes a while.
Applications are a lot of rushing to gather your stuff and submit them followed by a long waiting game. Just be patient (easier said than done, I remember) and have faith in the process
Like at what time should they be there if they want to attend?Yes, guests are welcome to both the tour and lunch.
It took a week. The last interview offered in September was on the 25th and I received a decision on October 2nd.Does anyone know how long it was from the end of the first batch of interviews to decisions?
Congrats! What time was the email sent, if you don't mind me asking?Woohoo I received an interview invite today. My VMCAS was verified on Sep 13.
Mine was verified on 9/4 and I still haven't heard anything. Doesn't seem like a true rolling basis to me 🙄Woohoo I received an interview invite today. My VMCAS was verified on Sep 13.

Hey, I scheduled mine today too!!Anyone have tips for the Midwestern interview? I scheduled my interview today.
Don't get worried they have different waves of offering interviews even into December (not sure when those stop). So even if you haven't heard back it doesn't mean you won't get one. This might be my paranoia talking, but I'm just getting a tad bit nervous. I interviewed in september and was accepted just a few weeks later. It was a super relaxed interview, in my opinion. I'd mostly say be ready for a long day (your actual interview is only 30 minutes, but you tour two campuses... eat lunch there, and spent a decent amount of time sitting around waiting.) Dress professionally (wear comfy shoes!), but don't be afraid to show your personality a bit. Have some sort of answers planned out for the expected questions (tell me about yourself, why do you want to be a vet, why midwestern?) And definitely relax and be yourself, everyone is really kind and welcoming and truly give off the vibe that they're looking to get to know you as a whole person, not an applicant on a piece of paper.Anyone have tips for the Midwestern interview? In my experience, noDo they ask any questions from your application?
You found out you were accepted yesterday??First time applicant. Submitted app 9/1, verified 9/5, interview invite 9/20, interview 10/9, accepted 10/21!!!
Yes, I got a phone call and email from admissions yesterdayYou found out you were accepted yesterday??
How long do they give you to accept the offer? Do you have till April or earlier?Yes, I got a phone call and email from admissions yesterday
I have until April 15thHow long do they give you to accept the offer? Do you have till April or earlier?
If your only staying for the day of the interview, i would probably not rent a car. The interview day lasts pretty much all day so you wont have much time to explore, etc. Your interview is only 20-30 minutes but you have like tours and presentations as well. If your staying more than 1 day, then i would recommend a car so you can explore on your own. There are a few hotels around the area who offer discounts and have shuttles so youll have to do a little research. Here is the list of hotels that they sent me last year when i scheduled a interview.I submitted my application on 9/12, received a confirmation email about my application being complete from Midwestern on 9/18, and never heard back from them since then. Today, I logged into the portal and found no new messages *sigh*. However, when I clicked "Interview Scheduling" under the Admissions tab, it said I had been invited for an interview and made me select one of 6 interview dates. 😵 I'm wondering if 1) Gmail just decided to mark my Midwestern interview invite email as spam, 2) there is a delay between when they select candidates and the emails get sent out, or 3) there is a system glitch and I just invited myself for an interview 😀.
Posting here so others who haven't heard from them can also check!
Also, for those who have interviewed already:
- Any recs on where I should stay?
- Should I rent a car?
Not a glitch! Same thing happened to me in August, (I applied in July) I interviewed in September, and found out I got in in OctoberI submitted my application on 9/12, received a confirmation email about my application being complete from Midwestern on 9/18, and never heard back from them since then. It's clearly not a rolling process because I sent in my application around 8/26 and was verified around 9/3or4 and people who applied way after then are getting interviews and acceptances. My friend is a second year at Midwestern and said that some of her friends didn't hear until december and still got in. It still is upsetting tho because their process seems to make no sense. I would also like to know if anyone just got a straight rejection email? At what point in time is no response not bad news? I know they are still doing interviews and accepting people, but are they also sending out rejects too or do they do that all at once? I just thought since they doing rolling admissions, I would have heard from them already.
I agree that it’s a very strange process. That’s why I’m concerned. I sent mine in also mid to late August and haven’t heard anything. That’s why I am kind of unsure what that means and where I stand. It's clearly not a rolling process because I sent in my application around 8/26 and was verified around 9/3or4 and people who applied way after then are getting interviews and acceptances. Things might have changed since applications were about five years ago for me, but I don't seem to recall anyone at least on SDN back then getting straight up rejected by Midwestern unless there obvious defects in their application (eg. missing pre-reqs, didn't meet the minimum GPA). If you're qualified and don't receive an interview invite upfront, I think that you ultimately eventually just get placed on the interview waitlist where you may or may not be pulled off depending on how many vacancies are left in the class after admissions has exhausted the admitted students and the post-interview waitlist.
I could be wrong, though. I'll tag @FrostySparrow so she can hopefully confirm either way!
