Yesterday I received a phone message from Upstate asking me if I would be interested in their Medical Scholar's Masters Program.

Is this Upstate's way of telling me that I probably won't make it in off the waitlist? Is this Upstate's SMP? I missed their call and unfortunately have to wait till Monday to find out. A whole weekend of anxiety now (sigh).

I didn't even know that they had an "SMP". Don't look too into it though.

Just wanted to let you know that I'll be withdrawing my acceptance this coming week. Nothing against Upstate, though. I really enjoyed my interview weekend, but one of my top choices accepted me as well. I hope one of you gets that spot!

Word from J. Welch, Upstate will not start organizing their WL until 5/15. Which means that no one will get pulled off on 5/15, and probably not even till the end of May. And she also encouraged us to call in early June to find out abt our status.
So I guess all we gotta do is more wait.

I just called the admissions office to withdraw my acceptance.

I was really impressed by SUNY Upstate and it was a tough decision (mostly family-based). There's a great crowd at Upstate that I would have been happy to join.

I did some research and would love to live in either Madison or Jefferson but it seems like they are already filled up. Now I'd like to live a 10 minute walk from school. Don't really want to deal with driving into school.

there is plenty of housing around the medical school area. It is relatively cheap (400-600) and centralized so its easy to find the right apartment.

She made reference to people sharing information online, which since I just discovered this thread I was heartily confused about. In any case I too am on the HPA and hoping to hear soon, good luck all!

She must have meant that they swore an oath of secrecy and cannot release any information about the HPA and that whatever information that has been leaksed out has been posted in this thread.

I don't see how sharing info here is a bad thing though. I feel Upstate should understand that we all are very curious and eager abt our status, as for ppl on any other WL. I mean if a school rep is willing to post here and let us in on what exactly is going on, we wouldn't have to make all kinds of wild speculations.

I noticed that you post in the Buffalo thread. Where would you rather go if you had the choice between Upstate and Buff?
