Mod Clarification: Contrary to earlier discussion and speculation, the rules are all accurate for the game currently being played. I have however updated the flavor a little to reflect the current setting.​

You've questioned the gamestate a few times and essentially provided that as a justification to vote for me. Very well.

Why am I the vote in particular instead of some other player? How do you attribute your concerns about the game to me?

You're absolutely correct. Normally when I'm in the hot seat I have a better idea of who would be a better chop than me. But this game state's weird, I feel like there are an unusually high number of players that I would have firmly in my POE except for one really towny thing.
 
Just FYI I have roughly the next 4 hours to be in the thread and then after that I'll likely be gone for the rest of the time (I'm babysitting my nieces, and the younger one gets very cross if I stop paying attention to her to look at my phone. Maybe if I get them distracted with a movie or something 😆)

Well so far we've got two flavors of fruit vendor (if Santy's indeed town), one vanilla, and a self-sacrificing role. So I sincerely hope that we have some actual power roles in here somewhere.

Wanted to see if there was some unpairing by VCA , but other than AM I think that everyone could be? Like JJJ viotes where key to make your wagon grow, but also the principal reason of why the wagon moved off of you so wowee.

Its interesting that all the new people have voted you, and from the regulars only AM and True, and True wasnt there much time or was much relevant to begin with .

Yeah I don't know. That's a vague role description. My first thought was also bodyguard, @SportPonies , but I don't know what to do with that. Some details are inscrutable: other players (more than one? maybe just refers to a single target each night); living or dead (extend their lives even if they're dead, what); past their expiration date (so... dead?)

To have any chance of making sense of the mechanics of this situation, it seems pivotal to know what this role is, and I absolutely don't know what this role is.
 
Exercise for the room:

If you were to pretend for a moment that mechanics and claims don't exist whatsoever, what do your reads look like right now?

I think there are numerous bad teammate fits with Nate outside the context of votes (AM, Empire, yourself, and Clem come to mind immediately).
 
I suppose I should just ask the most basic question regarding mechanics:

Does anyone feel like they understand samac's role?

AM I agree, can see Clem too. Empire would need a closer look imo. Specially if we think that a team of 3 could be on the board

No, but they are dead. And if they died because of it I agree with True that they would have softed it somewhat, so Im not worrying to much about that? Like, whats the point?

To make sense of Nate, I think it's implied that we need to make sense of samac. We can't know whether samac activated that role, but my trouble is I don't even know what activate that role actually means.

e.g., if samac is a bodyguard, then samac didn't have to be the night 1 kill at all (she could have just taken a bullet for whoever was the target). If samac is a passively-activated role, then she was absolutely the night kill regardless of whether she activated or not -- if I understand the mechanics appropriately.

Sure, the players I would classify as "would be POE if not for [x]":

Clem - I'm not sure he's done a single thing to advance the town win condition..? (If you're a wolf maybe, but he hasn't substantiated that at all). But, I town read his reaction to being wagoned yesterday. I think he'd fake claim and enjoy the chaos as a wolf, especially with cover roles that could be used.

True - I've talked about him plenty elsewhere, but I still think most of his day yesterday was classically wolfy (being worried about how his reads would be perceived, shifting them around after pushback, focus on mech instead of really solving). But, his approach to me and especially backing off of me under pressure keeps him out of POE.

Santy - I think he towntold in response to my claim stuff, after mulling on it more. I just don't think it's a wolfy thought to claim what he did when he did. If not for that I think he'd be POE (maybe not hard sus, but somewhere to push).

Empire - His pushes have felt the most wolfy/agenda'ed to me. This one's weaker, not sure I can totally put a finger on it but he'd be POE. But, he gave me a pretty quick townread after the initial claim at SOD, and I think in general wolves would be reluctant to do that. He's walked it back since then but I think the initial reaction is readable if not a lock by any means.

Those are the slots that have that sort of "duality" for me, and 4 out of 10 seems like a lot.

No, but from the wording I really don't think it was activated. I think she was just killed without activating her role.

The result is the same I think , doesnt matter if Scum killed there or not. Samac died and Nate acted there apparently. So they would be in like, an almost similar situation even if samac wasnt the nk target?

I think they're one of my most comfortable town reads at the moment. They've seemed stuck on Empire POE wise, but seem to be taking a broader look at the game as well.

No way they're w/w with Empire, no way they're w/w with you, as far as unpairings.

If samac wasn't the night kill, then we have no reason to care that Nate visited her.
 
If I decide samac's role is bodyguard-like, then I might also decide by extension that Nate is town. I still think he looks like town right now and wouldn't be voting him without a glaring mechanical reason staring me in the face.

I think my biggest shift in reads is related to April, but tbh i think it was more a 'Reassess slap' that was prompted by that tbfh

If Nate is town, then some other pieces could slide into place if I allowed myself to be optimistic. Empire's progression on Nate would become suspicious. April and Empire don't fit together. Clem also harbors or harbored some unstated suspicion of Empire that I would take into consideration.
 
I mistook the post Santy was quoting there. Anyway, explain that disagreement.
 
So why is my vote on Sporty. I'm not totally seeing the towniness that others have mentioned there? She's seemed very surface-level when she's been around. I admit I was townreading her catch-up near EOD yesterday, but that's also easy to do (and an easy thing to do to "look busy" if no wolves were in danger). Her strongest take has seemed to be the PSV townread which is based on not seeing a secret wolf tell, which is an all-timer for "easiest town read to fake" because it doesn't require pointing at actual content. (And.... I haven't gotten the sense that she's been caught up at any point, so I'm not sure why she'd be confident that PSV hasn't done whatever this wolf tell is..?)

I'd appreciate thoughts there.
 
The fact that they spent half a day phase to claim so underwhemingly its like a huge red sign either way.

If mafia didnt nk Samac, they were worried either way cuz it would DEFINETELY look like Nate nightkilled them if someone saw Nate acting on them

I'm still bothered by them not pursuing Nate yesterday, but I feel like they could have gotten ahead of the claim (or just not said anything at all) if the goal was to bus Nate from the start.

Samac thoughts on the slot, they were giving a fairly confident tr there. That + the EoD seemed like they didnt have a partner at risk for sure (Unless its True, and if it is the timing of that defense still is super weird) .

I think they are Rand>V tbh
 
@NateTheLesser please tell me how you feel about the way players have responded to your claims today. You're still the top wagon comfortably. People clearly aren't buying it.

I have ISO’d PSV multiple times looking for her tell. Doesn’t require reading the thread chronologically
