I was waitlisted sometime last year and received an acceptance this morning via email. Looks like the list is moving 😀!! Does anybody know when school starts?

congrats coffee! it seems like the "unranked" waitlists is all about "when" you got waitlisted. ballerina86 and coffee were waitlisted in october and last year, so...i'm assuming they're picking folks off the waitlist by dates

weird...I thought they would send out one big wave of acceptances after the May 1 deadline. i am done trying to figure out med school admissions!! 😕

I just called... and this is what they said. Expect more movement after May 15.

She did say that they have had some (how much? Not sure) wait list movement lately. She said I'd have to call back later, mid-May or so, to find out where I stood on the wait list and for any other details about the wait list.
 
Hey guys, I just wanted to let yall know I was accepted from the alternate list yesterday morning as well. I was waitlisted back in November after interviewing in October. Good luck to everybody on the waitlist and congrats to those who have been accepted, I'll see you in July!

So another October interviewee was accepted... maybe BJPennState was onto something with his hypothesis...

Alrighty, another early interview/waitlist acceptance......

I wonder if they really are reviewing by waitlist date, or if its just that the more attractive applicants were interviewed and waitlisted earlier.
 
i was waitlisted in january...probably wont hear anything till late june/july...yaikes
 
i was waitlisted in mid November... maybe my number will be up soon?

Please let us know if you hear back soon. If you do, I think we can be somewhat certain that they're going in order.

Just to let you guys know, the waitlist is moving - just got a letter yesterday and I was an October interview. I've never been happier, and I wish all of you the best - hope to see you next year!

congrats to those accepted!!!! thanks for keeping those of us still waiting informed on WL movement. I had a January interview and was waitlisted in February, so it might be awhile for me??
 
I have to admit that at first I was skeptical about the "order of interview = order of waitlist review" theory, but now I have to admit that I kind of think its true...

Were you waitlisted in November (I'm assuming so, since you mentioned that you interviewed in October)?

Also, were you notified via regular mail or e-mail?

they call me nostradamus...

anyways..i think its a slim chance for people who get waitlisted after the calendar year to get in...i.e. last year, the last few batches of acceptances were from people who interviewed in december...(ncgirl85)

Well.. I was interviewed in early November and waitlisted in mid-November... thats fairly early, isn't it?

I think it makes sense for them to look at applicants with early interviews first since they can now better compare them to the entire interview pool. I just hope that come May 15th, there will be more movement for people waitlisted in Jan/Feb....mostly because I was waitlisted in Feb. 🙂
 
I personally think that the strongest candidates get interviewed early. So I think the correlation between early interviews and acceptances off the WL is due to the larger number of high GPA-MCAT/Strong EC's students who interviewed early, not simply a "first come first serve" approach to pulling individuals off of the waitlist. So if you are a strong candidate who applied later and was WL'd, I think your odds are just as good as an individual who interviewed earlier in the season...... just my speculation of course.

well, if it makes anyone feel better, i interviewed back in September and still have not heard anything yet.... (this does not make ME feel better, but... y'know...)

ps. all of you that sent in your list, would you mind reformatting it with your GPAs and MCAT scores, give us all on the waitlist an idea of who they're pickin' off?

Hi All- Because these past weeks/months of waiting were such a stressful time for me, I wanted to share my experience: I applied to WFUSOM late (October), was interviewed and wait-listed in February, sent letters and called about every two weeks since then, and received my acceptance letter via email Friday morning. Good luck and best wishes!
 
Hey everyone, I just accepted my admission from the waitlist this morning. I applied kinda late: I turned in my secondary mid September, interviewed February 2nd, waitlisted February 18th and accepted April 29th. I had two weeks to make up my mind so it seems like if some spaces are still open, the next batch of acceptances should come this week or so (just my guess). To answer sbwalton's question, I have a 3.68 and a 34.

Good luck to those still waiting and I'm excitied to meet my future classmates in a couple months!
 
more importantly than mcat scores and gpa, which of you guys accepted off the waitlisted are actually accepting it?

I know this is silly, but one of the things that felt the best was to change my SDN status to medical student.... It felt relieving.

I sent a pre-interview LOI, a post-interview LOI as requested per the wait list letter if I was still interested, and I've called twice.
 
Well.. I'm still clinging on to getting in soon...

Is anyone else sending in an updated transcript? My GPA went up, so I'm hoping that'll help...
 
yea I sent them another quick update email yesterday with spring grades, why i STILL want to go to wake, and details about the culmination of my undergrad research.
