Does anyone know of any Master's programs in FL that will help me get admitted into Dental school?
I've looked into Nova Southeastern, University of South Florida, and LECOM but I was wondering if there were anymore options - Google isn't really helping me.
Thank you!(:
Hi guys, I honestly need some motivation because I just feel like giving up..
I just found out I received a D in Biochem (4 credits) and it totally demolished my overall GPA. I went from a 2.94 to a 2.72. I still have the Spring semester, Summer, and next Fall which is when I graduate. I am...
a little background info.. i am a sophomore at a pretty prestigious undergrad school. i didn't do well at all freshman year, no Cs but only a few As and mostly Bs. this semester and while taking orgo over the summer, i've really turned it around and gotten only As and A-s, and am looking at a...
Hi guys!
I am graduating Fall of 2019 and I'm curious if I would be able to apply June 1st 2019? If I apply in June 2019, is that cycle for Fall of 2020?
Thank you:)
I was just curious, when a school says they have a reccomended ammount of shadowing hours, does that include hours with specialists or specifically general dentists?
I’m looking at the dental college of georgia, and I saw somewhere that they prefer to see close to 300 hours of shadowing. Right...
Hi everyone! I was fortunate enough to receive acceptances to both of these schools and want to get people's opinions on both schools! Tuition for UOP is about $130k a year (total: 390k)while UCSF is $60k a year. I am from the bay area so living cost is not included. I don't want to specialize...
Hey guys, just want to get some opinions on this one. I'm stuck between the three. Case has that new shiny building. Temple's got that extra good curriculum. Louisiana's got that early patient exposure. Overall, I want to be a good clinician and all three offer ample opportunity for that. Which...
Today I was accepted by a couple of dental schools. How do scholarships work? If I was going to receive any money would it have been in the acceptance letter or do they wait until I put down a deposit? If that's not how it works then do I have to apply for them somewhere?
AnP textbook recommendation to pregame for dental school?
Haven’t taken AnP and would like to be familiar with the content when I start school next year.

I have a couple interviews coming up this fall semester and I am just wondering that if I got accepted in December, what sort of grades would I need to maintain to not lose my acceptance? I understand that this may differ from school to school but what are some estimated averages among most schools?
I am a current high senior who wishes to eventually go on to medical school. I am in-state for UAB and can go there for free. I can also apply for the early medical school acceptance program; however, this is far from a guaranteed acceptance. I have a 35 ACT and feel confident in my ability to...
Does anyone have a compilation of the clinical focused vs research focused dental schools? and the schools that are a mix of both?
I'm applying next cycle and would like to know but I can't seem to find this detail much on the schools' websites!
THanks!
When doing course matching, can you select ALL relevant courses that satisfy that requirement or are we only supposed to select one? For example, when selecting for "biology with lab" can I select 4 different biology courses with labs that I've taken or am I supposed to only select one?
I'm interviewing at LECOM dental school and haven't seen much about their interviews. What is their style like and what types of questions do they ask? Any major things I should know about the school? Thank you in advance!
Hey guys,
So I am currently in the process of studying for the DAT. To preface my question, I have taken the DAT before and studied roughly 3 months in advance. Unfortunately I did not get the score I was hoping for and was below the average admitted score. I am curious if it is "acceptable" or...
Hi guys so I used to be obsessed with wanting to become a dentist when I was younger. During my junior and senior year in high school I took this dental technical course where the first year you are taught a lot about the dental field and then your senior year you go out and volunteer at a...
I am an upcoming junior, planning to apply next year. I have a 3.86 o-gpa, not sure about s-gpa but should be around the same. I don't really have long-term ec, I have done reserach through my sophomore year though and it counts towards ec correct? I have 500+ hours for that and will be working...
I have my DAT in less than 3 weeks and im still struggling to find a strategy to use for RC. Reading is one of my weaker areas. Ive done two of the practice tests on BC and got as low as a 16 which im very concerned about. I didn't even get to reading the last passage, let alone answering the...

Hi folks,
I am an older student, I have two kids and have worked my whole life in a management role. I decided to go into Dentistry a few years back, started my undergrad and now I am in my Junior year, however I will not be applying until next year, 2019 when I take the DAT. I am a Houston...
Has anyone taken all/most of the BC Full Length Exams before they had studied thoroughly and then taken the Full Length Exams again after they had studied thoroughly? How much did your scores improve, and were your improved scores reflective of how you did on the actual DAT?
Hey people, so I was just going through the NOVA secondary application and one of the questions asks to list all the dental schools that I am applying to.
My question is, should I list all? I am applying to >20 schools and that is way above average. Does the school already know how many I am...
Can I get accepted with one C in PE? The rest of my grades are mostly A's, I have a 4.0 GPA. Should I still try to apply even with that one bad grade? Thank you.
Hello, I just took my DAT and it wasn't great. I'm planning on retaking, but have to wait till September. Should I just go ahead and apply early and mention about my retake? or should I wait till September to apply? Is there a difference? Thanks!

Greetings All!
I am creating this thread because I haven’t seen one as of late for the 2018 candidates for the Masters in Medical Science program at Hampton University. I submitted my application about a month or so ago and have completed my interview, and am now waiting to receive my letter of...
Hi! I'm currently a rising sophomore at a SUNY school and I was wondering what else I could do to become a stronger candidate for dental school. I'm currently spending the summer shadowing and trying to establish a club at my school. I applied for SHPEP for this summer, but unfortunately I...
Hiiii, getting ready to submit my application for this cycle.. but having a lot of trouble picking which schools. I've tried to do research, which was ineffective lol. I only want to (can afford to) apply to schools I actually have a chance of getting in to. Any input helps! :)))

From what I’ve heard UMD Dental School is decently OOS friendly but I have no recent statistics to back up those claims. I was wondering if anyone has any up to date OOS and Instate admission statistics for UMD. I’m a Maryland resident so I won’t be affected even if it is biased. I’d just like...
Hellooo everyone :)
I was originally not going to take the DAT this summer and planned a 5 day vacation (roadtripish) in the middle of june. However, circumstances change and I decided to take the DAT! I will start studying June 1st and plan to take it on the 4th of August. ( Cant take it from...
Hey everyone,
Thank you in advance for your help.
I just completed my junior year of undergrad working towards a B.A. in Chemistry. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.88. Overall, I feel behind the ball in my decision to pursue dentistry since most of my peers have experience and have already taken...
I didn’t get into a class in one of my semesters and ended up with fewer graded units (~ 8 science) + 7 PNP (4 teaching) = total 15. I don’t want to seem like I’m trying to take easy courseloads to increase my gpa. Is this something to worry about? Please let me know your thoughts.
Hey people, hoping some of you could help me out as you guys probably have more experience than me regarding this stuff. I have a list of 23 schools here and I want to shorten it down to around 15 schools as that is the normal. I mainly want to be within or around PA, but also open to OOS...
Should I take any of these schools out of my list? I already took out Harvard because I was told it caters towards PHDs in dentistry and that wasn't my goal

Hi, I'm a fellow predental who applied the last cycle in 2017 but had no luck with the cycle, so I have been taking some classes and am going to retake DAT soon to prep for this upcoming 2018 cycle. I just have couple questions that I wanted to ask you guys who applied more than once to the...
Hi SDN,
I have always been interested in dentistry from a young age, but allowed my family and undergrad advisor to bully me into being pre-med.
I'm in my junior year and was forcing myself to shadow, be a medical scribe, etc. And I was just hating every second of it. All the time I felt so...
I am losing hope and would just like to have some opinions and advice on where to go from here. I have applied to dental school twice, but I know my stats are really low. I have a lot of dental experience, leadership and volunteer experience. Here are my stats:
undergrad cGPA: 3.1
