Anyone hear any good news yet?

I'm going back to my house today, but my roommate told me yesterday that she hasn't seen anything🙁

So I was complete as of late October and have yet to have received an interview, so I'm extremely doubtful that I will receive an interview. Anyone in the same boat as moi by any chance, and am I being a bit too pessimistic??? 😕 😕 😕 😕

Yes me too! I am dying a little inside. I don't want to give up hope, but man...

Don't we all... Do they accept in the area letters... I will be in Virginia in February, and I consider both Virginia and Georgia to be in the same area (the South)...

haha, boy you crack me up!

Soooo... Still no one has heard from the Dec 23rd mailing? I want an acceptance sooo bad and I am getting so nervous...

Nothing in the mail today... is there still hope for this round of acceptances?

I've been complete since late september and I've never hear anything from Emory either

I finally figured out how to do multiple quotes!!!

I just checked my mail...nothing🙁 Not going to lie...I was really, really hoping to hear something.

anyone know if emory makes rejection decisions now and just doesn't tell us until march?

or if they only start making rejection decisions in march?

A friend of mine was accepted recently. Unfortunately I don't think he has an MDApps and I don't have any more info than that. (Interview date, etc)

That was a totally useless comment wasn't it?

Has anyone who was finished in November received an interview yet?

LOL! No there's no such thing as a useless comment

I know of two individuals who received their acceptance letters in the mail on Tuesday, December 23rd. One person interviewed the second week of December and was complete in early October. Not sure about the other.

That wouldn't make a lot of sense... they did not mail any letters until the 23rd

They're different.

Emory is in Atlanta, Embry-riddle is in Florida.

Seems like a random question though, did you want to attend Embry-riddle?

oh, its just that when i told my friends that i was interviewing at emory, they all thought i was interviewing at a flight school. im not sure if i want my patients to think that i went to a flight school for the rest of my life

Hey guys, so I finally found out that I received an acceptance letter from Emory. I am still away from my school address (my friend checked my mailbox for me). Like others have said, the date of the letter is messed up (dated November 3rd, even though I interviewed December 5th). I'm assuming they meant to write January 3rd or something like that, but anyways I will call and check with the office tomorrow. It is a letter + an acceptance reply form.

lee, did you see when the letter was postmarked? I'm wondering if there is any hope for those of us who haven't heard from them this round

My friend said it was postmarked December 19th, in a large envelope.

Oh Emory, Emory, Wherefore art thou Emory, deny thy other applicants and interview/accept me in their stead...

is it true that the emory undergrads are largely unsatisfied by the decisions of the administration? (ex: mandatory meal programs (which actually cost more than buying meals individual with cash), very poor mailing service, poor shuttles from clairmont to main campus, ridiculously high parking prices) can someone who went to emory confirm this? and do you guys think this negatively affects the med school experience?

I guess Emory knew I was about to write them a LOI bc I just got an interview invite today! yay. Except that I have a conflict with another interview. Anyone know how easy/hard it is to reschedule?

Very simple, just give them a call and they will provide you a list of available interview dates in the future. Interestingly, I was at an interview when I received my Emory interview which coincided with another interview so I called to reschedule 😀

Great, thanks! Anyone know how late they interview?

any current Emory students on here? I am curious as to whether they are very generous with non-loan financial aid, both need and merit based. Thanks!

has anyone received an interview invitation recently? and if so, what dates are they scheduling?

does anyone know how many acceptances emory mails out on each of their given dates? is it a relatively even amount of people each time, or is it smaller groups until march when most acceptances will be given? emory is my dream school im dying to hear from them!

I was complete mid Sept, just got my interview a week ago, scheduled for late Jan.

that's gives me a little hope. Complete since late september and haven't heard anything (i did send them an in the area e-mail about 2 months ago though). Should i give them a call?

Complete in mid Sept

Received invite 3 days ago for Feb

I seem to have misplaced the sheet on when emory mails out acceptances...does anyone know when the next date is? I'll call them when my phone charges if I don't hear back by then

it says "acceptance letter mailed on or before these dates: feb 3, feb 24, mar 10"

Invitations still going out! Got invited to interview in mid-February, was complete in late October. Don't lose hope yet!

Congrats on the invite... I was also complete late October and so you've given me reason to keep hoping. Congrats on the interview and good luck!

Anyone receive any updates from them lately? This is by far my top choice, and the wait is driving me nuts.

i feel the same way, emory is definitely my top choice. i interviewed in mid november and havent heard from them yet. they are sending out a batch of acceptances in the beginning of feb, so hopefully we will hear from them soon!

If this is true, some lucky people might hear something any day now! Any updates? This thread is surprisingly quiet for the day after acceptances were supposed to go out...?

As a former Emory undergrad (2006), the administration can be frustrating at times. It often feels like not a lot of attention is being paid to the students but rather to the university's standing among its peers (trying to compete with the Ivy's). It is annoying but overall I would not say this should be a deciding factor on Emory.

I expect that the medical student perspective will be much different from an undergraduate experience. I think med students are more distanced from the general administration and don't have to deal with things like meal plans and housing headaches that undergrads have to go through. Plus most of your first two years will be spent in the new med school building, which is really nice. My primary concern with emory would be the commute to Grady (20 mins without traffic, up to an hour with traffic) for the 3-4th years. Very little (if any) time is spent in the on-campus hospital as a med student. The tour guide said this was not a big deal, but who knows if he was telling the truth.

Emory does have a lot of money and there are certain perks that come with that (Clairmont's resort-like pool/tennis area, regular rock/hip hop concerts with free beer, great facilities, etc). Parking is expensive but then again you are in Atlanta, where everything can be expensive. I would say the concerns that you brought up should not be a deciding factor either way. But then again a current medical student would probably have a better perspective than I do.
