Haven't tried... Are we just supposed to call the general admission number?Any luck with calls, anyone?

As was mentioned earlier in this thread they over accepted by 60. So far 7 people have declined admission. So 54 more people must decline their acceptance before any of us from the WL are accepted. The real movement will begin shortly after May 15th I imagine...
did they also over accept for in-state or is it different than the out of state list?
Is it just me or has this weak economy/ recession adversely affected institutional aid? While interviewing at schools they said they make every effort to make the school "affordable", but it seems to be all loans, in the 60's for OOS (Iowa) and private medical schools!!!!!!!!!! Need some state school love 😡 this year.
Is financial aid need based or is the economy forcing schools to put the honess on the students to take ALL loans? Anybody know or have heard anything to this effect?
Military scholarship looking good, well with all these wars maybe not.
Withdrew from UIowa today, am OOS, so that overaccepted glut of OOS applicants just decreased by one. Good luck to everyone looking to pursue their MD at UIowa!!
Might as well apply, but as an OOS you will probably need a higher MCAT, research or ties to the state to get in realistically speaking.Hey guys, good luck to everyone still waiting! And congrats to all who have already gotten in!
From people who have gotten in or on the wait-list, I was wondering if you can give me some insight if I should even apply to U of Iowa...
My stats: 30 MCAT ( 9 PS / 10 VR / 11 BS)
bioGPA = 3.72
overallGPA = 3.81
I'm from Minnesota.
Decent E.C.'s but no research.
Thanks guys! And once again hang in there those who are on the waitlist!
Hey I'm also from MN. I was waitlisted this year at Iowa. I remember people saying saying that if you had a ten in each MCAT section you got an auto interview and if not they still considered you. I went to undergrad in Iowa and made it pretty clear in my app that I wished to stay there, so that was my state tie. As for MN duluth, dont bother unless youre from a small rural town/american indian community that you will be going back to.Hey guys, good luck to everyone still waiting! And congrats to all who have already gotten in!

Anyone called them recently? Today perhaps?
Called again. They're still over-accepted by a few on the OOS side....
She said "a few".. I didnt really inquire further.. She expected things to move along shortly though...any idea of the number?
I guess they did a good job of offering spots to people who really wanted to go Iowa this year... I am definitely concerned at this point.Hey guys,
Called today for an update regarding the OOS waiting list and was told that they're still over-accepted by 2 students. The woman I spoke to on the phone told me that they're still expecting some movement from the waiting list but that "they don't know how much." As they've cleared the waiting list the last two years, that sounds like a real change in tone. I'm starting to get a little concerned. Think these fears are unfounded, or is it time to start losing hope?
