This is what my status says.. not sure if I'm complete or not...

I never got an email saying I was complete... but it says everything needed to complete my sec. app have been received. Doesn't this include the LORs?

"All materials necessary to complete your secondary application have been received. Once recommendation letters are received and entered in, you will be sent an e-mail notification that your application file is complete. If your recommendation letters have already been sent to us, please allow 2-3 weeks from when we receive your Signature page and fee for processing of the letters."

Because Wake Forest is notorious for not letting its applicants know about their application status unless you call

So you think they outright lied to you in their email? WHy are you applying to a school you are convinced lies to you? I have had no problems with their status as of yet, chill out....

they change your status when you're complete. it says something along the lines of:

your application is complete. interviews are offered between Sept and March by email or phone.

Anybody who is complete considered calling them? I read somewhere (an mdapp or past thread) that people called to check up and were offered an interview then.

So I just got my Wake secondary in my inbox, and I'm pleased with the rather simple prompts. Yet, I'm worried that both ask about a service option. I don't want to write about the same service for both, but I think that's the best answer to each question. This service was also a main focal point of my primary statement.

Any suggestions?

I was verified july 25th and they are one of the last schools that have yet to contact me at all...

Well I submitted my AMCAS and had it verified by June 9th (before I took my MCAT). They had my scores on July 15th, and my letters were into AMCAS on July 23rd. And I just got my secondary in my inbox today (8/5).

And now I'm trying to figure out if I can write about the same service for both prompts.

Today when I checked it, it tells me that it can't find my application number even though it worked fine last week.

On their secondary instruction page, it says "1. Complete the request for the name of the school and the Premedical Committee Chairperson; or if using a letter service either by mail or through Virtual Evals, Interfolio, PDFs or emails, complete the name of the school and indicate you are using a letter service."

I must have missed this before filling it out, and I put the name of my premed advisor in the blank where I guess I was supposed to write virtual evals. Should I email them and tell them or will they figure it out?

are you sure you're using the right app number? that wouldnt make sense for it to be a rejection.

I've had that happen to me a couple of times. Usually restarting my browser or checking back later has worked. Wake Forest's web app is pretty bad. It's like the entire server is a random 486 box in the corner of the admissions office.

Reading through this thread brings back memories of last year. The website is kind of vague on your status after you are "complete", but with 7500 applicants, I wouldn't expect them to give you much more than that.

Last year, they didn't give a limit as to how much you could write on your secondary, 3-5 sentences seems pretty tough.

The school has awesome IT support and infrastructure for the students, so it is kind of surprising that the admissions page doesn't work so well, but it is what it is, not much use in complaining about it and it doesn't seem to reduce the number of applicants or the quality of people accepted.

Good luck in getting in, if you make it, you will be extremely impressed with the program!

Instead, I need to print out these idiotic forms, harass my letter writers again (assuming they're not on vacation or at conferences), then mail it out (add 3-7 business days for delivery)?

Honestly, does this school weed people out simply by being obnoxious?

You don't need to use those forms if you're using interfolio.

From their FAQ:

§ What recommendations do you require?

We prefer a premed committee report, if your school has one. If not, there are forms attached to the secondary application that should be downloaded and given to two professors, one science and one non-science. If your school uses a letter service, we will accept that and you do not have to have the form on the secondary application filled out. We also accept recommendations from VirtualEvals and Interfolio. If you are using one of these services, you do not have to have the evaluation forms on the secondary filled out.

They send you an email when you are complete, and you can also check your status using the link they sent you when they acknowledged receipt of your primary (not the one they sent you inviting you to complete the secondary...which is weird, but whatever).

Wake Forest rejection here I'm betting. Called the admissions office (like many people did last year and who were offered interviews). She said that if invited for interview, I'd get an email. No interview invite over the phone for me.

Last year 500 int'ls applied and 1 got an interview. Aw man, I was hoping to be that one 😀
