Thanks. I assume that if they only want 3-5 sentences for their other two essays, they don't want anything lengthy for the optional essay either.
 
yeah, I wrote under that assumption too.
 
I got an email saying that I needed to verify I would complete Grad school before July 1st. After confirming, the lady said I would be getting a 2nd'ary in the next batch, so they do send them out in waves.
 
For people verified by AMCAS on or after 7/7, have you received the WF secondary?

I was verified in early July (2nd or 3rd I think) and was asked to send a secondary on the 11th. OOS White Male.

I second this question - I haven't gotten any email one way or another and have no idea what to put in the empid/pwd to check status. Maybe I'll just call.

I called. They haven't downloaded my AMCAS yet, which is annoying since I was verified weeks ago, but whatev...they do it in batches, be patient, blah blah friggin' blah. At least I haven't been screened out. 🙂
 
So about our LOR's. Do they want 1 science and 1 non-science ONLY or can we submit additional LOR's as well?

I just called and they said it is fine to submit additional LORs.

blow everyone else outta the water

gave me a very positive impression of their school 👍
 
Hey I could use a little help if anyone has a moment: When logging in to Wake, EmplID = UserID? Or am I doing this wrong...?

EDIT: Never mind. I see what went wrong.
 
Ok, so I finally got something, but its making me nervous...

"Your AMCAS application is under review. When the review is complete, you will be sent an e-mail notification of your status."

Does this mean what I think it means...?

Where did you see this, on the online check?
 
Is anyone else getting really frustrated with trying to get into their site? I've tried soooooooooooooo many times, refreshing doesn't do it, odd times of day doesn't help (5am EDT?? That CAN'T be that many people trying to access then.)

For me, I had to write my last name in all lowercase letters. Perhaps that will help you?

I got that e-mail this morning, too. I think it just means they want to look at our primaries...

No need to worry yet 🙂

Yep. I got an email that had the link to the status check page and with those frustrating random numbers of theirs. Then I went to the page, it took 3 or so tries, and then I got in and it said that.

Didn't ChubbyChaser say earlier though that it said that when he got rejected last cycle? Just wondering since rejections seem to sting less when you know they're coming...

Yeah, I don't want to be a PITA though since they specifically say in their email that they've been having trouble with their site and if we can't get in to wait. Ah well, that is my newest forte. 😉

What time and date were you able to access the site?

Yep, I've tried it on firefox and IE on a windows machine, firefox, safari and IE on a mac. I've tried setting the browser timeout values really high, but I think it's a server limitation there. It seems crazy that I haven't gotten in yet - 10, 20 tries would be annoying, THIS is ridiculous.

I don't know how computer-nerdy you are, but if its a timeout issue, you may need to dump your temporary internet files. If you don't know how to do this manually, the easiest way is to shut down the 'puter and let it sit for about 5-15 minutes, restart it and try again.

no need to worry....mine said the exact same thing as yours and then I got a secondary a few days later.....as long as it says that they still have to review your AMCAS then I think that just means they havent gotten to yours yet......on the other hand, if it says something like "we HAVE reviewed your AMCAS and are deciding" then I think that can be bad news

Mine said something along the lines of....A final decision has been made and you will be aware of your status shortly.

They ended up taking me out of the system and I wasnt able to login for latleast a week before the rejection letter arrived, so I knew I was rejected beforehand, lol.
 
Woo hoo! I finally got into the site to check my status, and I'm gettin' a secondary. *does a little dance*

Application "under review." How long did you remain "under review" before you found out yea or nay from Wake Forest?
 
I've looked around for this info but haven't found it. Anyone have any idea what the numbers are for people past the screen v. interviewed? What are our chances at this point?

I do know that the WFU website says the following: "Approximately 9% of all applicants are asked to visit Wake Forest University School of Medicine for interviews from September to March".

submitted also, my status say that they have received my secondary application but are waiting on my LORs....(already sent via Interfolio).....but it takes 2-3 weeks for them to mark LORs as received and apps as complete
 
I am getting pissed off with these guys. Not only is their secondary website absolute crap, but I've been under review for more than a week. This was after they informed me that they were waiting on MCAT scores that THEY ALREADY HAD. I wanted to be done with these guys ASAP, and now I'm just floating without a breeze.
 
maybe they are having technical issues, someone call?

I got the same "waiting for MCAT" email. I emailed them and they took the notification away. I am assuming that I was then placed at the bottom of the pile because it then took them a week to send me an email telling me that I had three weeks to confirm that I will be about to complete my graduate certificate before matriculation in 2009. One day after I had my graduate school advisor send them an email confirming this, I received the "you will be receiving a secondary" email. That was almost two weeks ago and I still have not received the secondary. Add all of this to the terrible website, and you have one unorganized admissions committee/ web developer. But at least I will be getting a secondary at some point in time.

Well, at least it's not just me then. But seriously, what the hell? This is the most grabasstic process of any school I've applied to.
