My bad, I've been filling out a lot of secondaries, I thought this was one of the online app's. And yes "really", they should all be submitted online. There is no reason for schools not to have their app's online.

Sorry, when I read it the first time it came off as "everyone's applications are online" not "everyone's applications should be online." I think the anxiety has got me a little jumpy.

It's cool, I should have shuffled through all of my secondary crap before I threw up an uncertain answer.
 
I am interested in applying to wake forest and was wondering if you guys know what they screen for? Thank you!

I am pretty sure they use a holisitic approach when screening your primary....that said, in the MSAR the bottom 10% of the class ranged from MCAT sub secitions of 9 in each secion and a gpa of 3.4
 
How are you guys getting to Wake Forest- what's the closest airport? And is anyone interviewing at Vanderbilt right before or after?
 
The closest airport is in Greensboro... be ready to pay a hefty amount for taxi fees, or just rent a car. It cost me about $110 😱 total to get to Wake and back to the airport...
 
I drove and spent the night at the Holiday Inn express right outside of the Hospital/School. It was pretty convienient! And they had a special rate for interviewees.

This is one of the nicer interview days I've been to. The school facilities are pretty awesome.
 
I flew into Greensboro and stayed at the Holiday Inn. It is a great hotel right by the hospital, but if I had to do it again, I would probably just drive from Nashville. The flight wasn't that bad, but getting to and from the airport is a royal pain. The PART shuttles are cheap ($2.00), but inconvenient. I had to wait around an hour at the airport, then had to take a cab from the downtown bus station. Renting a car would be the way to go. A few agencies rent to people under 25, like Alamo. Plus if you rent a car, you can see more of Winston-Salem, which I didn't get to while I was there. Good luck on your interview!

I got my Wake interview invite today!

As for renting a car, how old do you have to be? I'm only 20. Otherwise, is taking a taxi from Greensboro to Winston-Salem my only option?

WHen were you complete at wake forest? When did you get that e-mail or status message that says "your app. is complete and interviews are from x-x months? I am in-state and got that message on 9/2. It has been a long wait.

I know Alamo rents to people under 25. I believe there is a fee, but it would be worth it. Round trip in a cab is going to set you back at least $100.😱
 
I love this school...and I really want to go here. I hope I didn't mess up on my interviews...:bang:

I got the "you are complete" email on 9/2, and got an interview invite on 9/19, if that helps anyone.
 
Hey guys, quick question, when they ask about "home town" are they looking for town I was born in, or where I consider my hometown, or are they asking about current residence. I know it is likely a moot point, but I was born and lived in NC from 81-88, then another state 88-00 and now a third state 00-present. So, it may be semantics, but I am curious how everyone else read this?

Has anyone that took the August 15th MCAT had their MCAT scores uploaded into the application? I'm on pre-secondary hold b/c my MCAT scores haven't been released and it says it may take them 2-3 weeks for the scores to be updated! Has anyone found a way to have these updated faster?

I got the complete email on 8/18 and my interview on 9/19, so just over a month.

I hope this helps!

geez, I was complete wayyyy back 7/24 and still no word 🙁

maybe, I'll send them an "I love you/here are my summer grades" letter, hmmmmmm......

I took the Aug 15th MCAT. Still on Pre-Secondary hold. A month for us to get the scores then 2-3 weeks for them to get the scores ????. Hope we will get something this or next week.

Same here, this is torture. I just want to be done with secondaries so I can move on to the next step and put this one behind me for good.
 
Just checked my status page.... Waitlisted... Really hope I can get off it and get in, but we'll see...
 
OMG...I think I got in...AHhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ................. I'm calm...(no I'm not) It says congrats. your app has been accepted for the entering class.

Anybody from the August 15th MCAT or any August sitting receive a secondary yet?? My status still says pending MCAT scores😡 This admissions office moves at a snail's pace

Nope, haven't received one yet. They told me don't expect for the MCAT scores to be uploaded into the system until late this week or early next week.

Does anyone know when the next ADCOM meeting is?
 
How are you all getting acceptances? Are you all EDP or are these verbal acceptances and you will get an official letter after the 15th of Oct? It cannot be EDP because I see that at least some of you have applied to other schools.

Also, I'd appreciate your advice ... I submitted my app like a couple weeks ago, but I had to mail my check from here in Spain...still not cashed, but the one I mailed to USC (much farther away) is...how long til I call and make sure my money's not lost in the Atlantic ocean?

Nope. Took MCAT on the 15th (August). Still nothing. 😡
By the way, did you get any invites from other schools ?

I overnighted my check on Friday September 19th, got confirmation that it had arrived on the 20th, but it wasn't cashed until the 29th. So I'd give them about ten days from when you think they would have received it.

No invites as of right now 🙁 I turned in all of my secondaries throughout the month of September, so I'm sure I will have to wait at least a week or two longer before I hear anything.

The wait is unbearable...especially when 99% of SDN already has interviews
 
Oh wait, 2 seconds ago I got rejected from Boston Univ 🙁 This is the only school to acknowledge my existence so far

Hey, Sorry to hear about that rejection. I can't even imagine that it would take about two to three weeks for them to get the scores. It is like in ancient times, AAMC takes our scores, WALKS to each school in the country and gives it to them. Unbelievable !!!
