what about horseradish
what about horseradish
I think horseradish is ok. I've never heard of anyone getting food poisoning from horseradish. The red kind can be pretty messy too though. It's probably best to stick to the white kind.what about horseradish
yea i like the white kind better

lrkoehle and LAman10 are traitors to our thread.Had to post here to let you guys know that Mayo found out about the post war via LAman! 😱
...and I had to post in protest on their thread and had to balance that by posting here, lol
No, the admissions decisions are separate. There are several people in my class who got into CCLCM but were rejected by the UP.Hey Guys,
Does a rejection from UP also means a rejection from CCLCM? or are you still in the running for CCLCM?
lrkoehle and LAman10 are traitors to our thread.![]()
Not a traitor, I swear! I think I made the right decision applying to Mayo and Case (amongst other schools), because of the high post counts in those threads. If I had to do this whole thing over, I would only apply to schools with 1200+ posts in their threads.

Interviewer: Why "School X"?
Irkoehle: Well, to be honest, people are talking.
Interviewer: What do you mean?
Irkoehle: You guys have 1200+ posts on SDN! This is where I wanna be!
Interviewer: ...
Oh so now you're saying Irkoehle is setting his standards too low...1500+ posts you mean![]()

You guys are so funny that I guess we will have to forgive you and take you back. 😍ditto... I still love you, Case. I just love friendly competition a whole lot more 😀

weather.com predicts rain every day this week, but lows reaching the high 30s/low 40s toward the end of the week. So I don't think we'll have to worry about snow, but yeah, definitely bring your slickers.Just a weather warning. Rain is expected on Monday night, Wednesday night, possible snow + rain Thursday night, and rain on Friday night. Why all the nights? Could it be related to a certain nightshade?
I mean, I'm not cleveland realtor, but I think it's a buyers market in Cleveland. Very very low prices currently and I still think has a ways upward it could go away from its stereotype of being a "dead steel city" and seeing some good growth and increased demand.is cleveland cheap enough to buy your own apt or condo? or is that a bad investment in the city of cleveland
I decided not to buy, but several other students did. I think if you're planning to stay here long-term (like, do your residency at UH or CCF and maybe work at one of those hospitals for your first job), it makes a lot of sense to buy. Prices are really cheap right now, and you could probably get a steal that would appreciate significantly in the long term. But if you're thinking that you'd just buy for 4-5 years while you're in med school and then move halfway across the country for residency, I don't think I'd do it. There's not a lot of time between graduation in mid-May and internship orientation in late June, and the housing market may not have recovered by then. If you have to sell in a hurry under pressure, you could end up losing money. Plus, I can't imagine how hard it must be to be an absentee landlord while you're a resident, or even worse, be paying two different mortgages in two different cities at the same time!is cleveland cheap enough to buy your own apt or condo? or is that a bad investment in the city of cleveland
Yeah, but at least 3,000 of those are stray google hits from people looking to score some Hellmann's...I should mention that the Mayo thread has over 10,000 more views...

Rake on the ground: I'm here! 👍👍👍
Thanks for the weather report CCLCMer! Brought the outshell of my winter coat, left the wool at home - too bulky...
Yes, unfortunately, although the UP does offer some scholarships and need-based aid. But there will still be people who get stuck taking out loans for the entire $300,000 bill over four years. 🙁+ debt for non CCLCMers lol
Awesome, welcome!Rake on the ground: I'm here! 👍👍👍

Houses in Detroit will only continue to depreciate, no matter how good the economy gets.Yeah, some people were talking big a while back in the Wayne State Univ. Thread about buying a house in Detroit just while they were in school...not a good idea for the average med student.

Ooooo, that was totally below the belt. I like you. 😀...or their sports teams![]()
I hope to have my own practice by 42.😳
I'm with you on that one. One of the reasons that I'm considering the field of anesthesiology. A lot of times, too, they are able to be involved on a small but high level of hospital administration and making better, informed choices for the hospital.[starting topical conversations to keep the thread count high...]
I personally don't want to ever be in private practice. No offense, it's just not my bag.
I've had chances to start up and be a member of small companies before and have also watched family members go into private medical practice. I have seen some of the...headaches...of day-to-day operations. I guess this part of medicine does not appeal to me, regardless of the allure of a higher salary and "personal independence". Maybe if I had an MBA or other business background?
Anyways, I like the idea of an urban hospital or tertiary hospital that attracts the mundane AND the unusual.
I'm biased, as I grew up very close the the oldest closed, salaried medical staff hospital in the country. Plus, I understand that the doctors at that hospital, short of negligence, are not the defendants in litigation because they are employees of the hospital.

...but maybe that's my way of trying to find some use for my econ major, lol
I don't, either. I'm not necessarily dead-set on working at a university, because a private hospital like CCF or even (gasp) Mayo that offers both strong academics and solid clinical care is also a good environment. Plus, I like teaching, so going into private practice is kind of out for that reason as well.I personally don't want to ever be in private practice. No offense, it's just not my bag.
