It's because we're awesome.😎

Okay, I was just lurking (reading up on advice on apts and banks and laptops!!) but now I simply have to know. Yes certainly awesome, but......why N95s?

Just wanted to pass along some waitlist news for CCLCM.

Dean Franco gave me a call this morning, admitting me off the waitlist. 😀😍😀😍😀

I'm incredibly excited, and it more than makes up for the disappointment of last night being a Cavs fan.

For the questions that are sure to come: yes, I was invited to revisit (although I was the last person invited -- only a few days before -- if that makes any difference), and I am male.

With May 15th being tomorrow, there still might be some movement, so don't lose hope yet! :luck::xf::luck:

Congrats Labyguy33! and I really do hope there are more calls to go out today...

aw, yes, of course I care. and yes, that would be right. MN could also be backwards for New Mexico?
Funny you should say that. When I was a kid, one of my teachers set up a penpal exchange with another class in a different state. And I was confused between MN and NM. I thought my penpal lived in MN, but actually, it was NM. And that's why none of my letters ever got there. 😳

things have slowed down since i started posting 🙁
Never. We all just fainted from the shock of seeing that you had returned. You're the Prodigal Poster. 😀

Congrats, labguy33! I'm glad it worked out for you. 😀

ummmmmm i tried really hard to resist but I have to ask sooooooo based on last night's debacle is lebron staying or leaving? NYC? Chicago? Miami? i will be choosing my med school based on where he decides to play

was actually pretty funny how the boston crowd was shouting "NY Knicks!! NY Knicks!!" near the end of the game...what a total mind f*ck for the entire cavs organization..my condolences for the cavs fans, though honestly I think he will be staying with cleveland for another 3 years...

Bulls. The knicks only have room for 2 big players. The Bulls can get a better support staff.

In other news.... which laptop do I get!?!?!

well, nike offered $100 million extra to lebron if he goes to ny or la.

so do you go to Chicago, where he might have a better chance at a title immediately
or do you take the money + location and go to NYC

remember, the cast isn't as good as chicago, so he might have a better chance of AOA in nyc

I know nothing about basketball, so I read "AOA" as alpha omega alpha.:laugh: What do those three letters mean in basketball terms?

arrgghh... i'm so crossing my fingers for that WL to move its arse.. :scared:

I just noticed that "application" is spelled incorrectly in the title of this thread. Only 4000 posts in... T_T.

, no, that's actually what I meant. seems like he has a SDN-esque X vs Y decision to make soon

Anyone still looking for housing?I would like a roommate to keep costs down. Planning to start looking the first week of June after finals. If anyone wants to meet up, Let me know.

CCLCM graduation was today and Case-wide graduation (UP + CCLCM + MSTP) is tomorrow. Woohoo for all the new MDs! :hardy:

As a side note, I can't believe that is going to be me a year from now. Gulp.

Send my congratulations to all those graduating out there!

Quick question to you UPers, does Case force you to use their health insurance, or can I stay on my (much cheaper) parents plan (Kaiser).

EDIT**

I found this on Case's insurance site:

"Student Medical Plan Waiver Options

Under certain conditions, the $660.00 Student Medical Plan fee may be waived.

Students who have insurance comparable to the Student Medical Plan may waive the coverage described in this summary plan description. However, it is each student's responsibility to ensure that the alternate coverage is adequate. Before submitting a waiver, please note that many commercial insurance plans do not cover a student after a certain age."

I think this applies to me. Getting a thumbs up from a current student would be great. Also, on the Kaiser site, for Ohio, I can be "covered" until 28 assuming I am a full time student.

Hey guys. I'm going to be bringing a car with me to Case, and I'm wondering if people could tell me what the average cost of car insurance is out there? My parents just added me to their insurance and the cost was... hefty. Just wanted to see if anyone had some insight, and/or knows any companies that would be good to look into.

Thanks a lot!

From previous posts, seems like some people sent update letters or letter of intent or something like that and gotten off the waitlist. And, some people didn't write those and still got off the waitlist.

Anybody tried calling Dr. Mehta or Christian and expressed their interests that way?

I felt I'd express myself better in writing when it came to something that important, I didn't want to stumble over my tongue. Also, if it's written, it's something they can look at again later, as opposed to spoken. Give it a go, tell them why you <3 them and specifically why you're indispensible 👍

A number of people waived it, so enjoy being able to go to the clinic for health care if you so choose.

So, Myuu...
after spending nearly a year looking at your Dr. Horrible references in the sig line...I finally broke down and watch it on YouTube last night...
I just about busted my gut...I was impressed with the ending too...it was a pretty poignant love-triangle story - even though it was short and sweet! 👍

I've had my nose deep in older pages looking at apartments advice 😉

For those who drive to campus (UP) - what is parking really like? How much does it cost for a permit, and how far from the medical building is it? Are there always spots, or is it ridiculously overstuffed?

I ask because my undergrad campus was beyond absurd. Parking lots were like 50% oversold and there was never a spot within like a mile of the buildings. You had to park and THEN take a bus to class...seriously.

I feel really dumb but I still don't fully understand the financial aid package situation. What is a GradPLUS loan?

You'll have it beat into you several times over when you do your on-line loan counseling! 😀

In fact, that' probably a better place to answer your question than here anyways...not to cop out. 🙂
