Sorry, but the process is anything but random.
Sure it is. An applicant either "fits" a school or they don't. So the process at one school might be very specific, but if you take 30 different specific processes that are each focused on different things, you get random.
In other words, I don't mean that Case's admissions are random. They probably have something very specific that they're looking for, and that guy didn't have it. But he will probably have some other quality that another school is looking for. IMO, that makes for a random process.
