i completely agree, pics from kinder garden? video of talent show and stuff like that lololol. who would send these kind of stuff especially for the school who has directions written in 24 fonts and they specificallly said that dont send anything we did not ask for.
 
You are right make room for the ones with common sense. Did you complete your application

I honestly don't think people actually sent those things in, I think she was just making examples of things that weren't needed, and kept it a little funny.

I second that. I have met Mrs. Walk a few times and from my experience she is a very down to earth and straight forward person. My experience going through Howard Undergrad taught me that though you have to go through a few snags here and there, the experience is still worth it. People definitely keep it real and tell it as it is, none of that fake smiles stuff🙂. All things said, Mrs. Walk is a very nice person
 
Submitted today. Had to go to the post office to get my money order. 🙂
 
Got the email today they recieved my secondary. Now it is more waiting. I have an interview on sept 24 thankfully all I have to do to get there is get in my car and drive 20 mintues. I am glad it is my first one because the wait was killing me. Now if I can only get aninvite at Howard.......

Thanks...do you know when they start sending invites.. are the interviews open or close file..... how many interviewers are there.....and which airport do you use if you get an interview DC has three....

They will probably start sending them out in september. Interviews are open file and it is just 1 interview 1 on 1 with a faculty member. I flew into Dulles, but you can also fly into Reagan or BWI.
 
I hope that last e-mail settled the minds of those having doubts about HU's professionalism. Pre-meds, I swear...need to pipe down and learn to laugh a little!

Seriously. Who could be offended by Ms. Walk. She's just a friendly cheerful person. Much better than any of the the robotic communications so far from other schools--for me at least.
 
I agree I think she is trying to ease the stress we alredy feel... I am just scared to feel winter again i have not seen snow in 3 years..... is snow still cold? LOL

Just got another email every time i get one I hope that it means Invite but no its about the admission process😡😡😡
 
i did not think that applying would be so stressful. I am usually very calm, positive and happy but now I am still the above bt nervous too. I love SDN because it does release some stress. I hope everyone is doing well.🙂🙂🙂
 
i laughed a bit when i got that last email...i was fine with the other ones
 
so they send you an email when they receive your secondary? i sent it over a week ago and didnt hear nothing! i did send it certified but i cant figure out where to check when/if they have signed for it 😕
 
When you send certified there is a 1800 # or you can check by internet look on yor certified reciept for the number when you call or go online insert 3 will tell the exact time delivered. and yes when howard recieves secondary they send email telling you

Still can't believe Ms. Walk needed to send an apology to the PREMEDS! People, get a sense of humor! Her emails were the best med school admin emails I have ever sent. They actually made me laugh during this stressful process. Made me want to send her an email out of appreciation.
 
So what happened? Ms. Walk sent you guys an apology of some sort? Wow! Ms. Walk is such a bomb person! I absolutely love her! People should really appreciate her, you aren't gonna find director's of admissions out there like her. She is a one of a kind!
 
I was lookin at last years post and I don't think they will be sending invites until the end of this month. It is the not knowing that is killing me. I am doing mock interviews preparing for my upcoming interview but I really want to hear from Howard. Maybe I want it to much

I don't think so...

Last year, there was construction, so they had to relocate their admissions office, thus delaying processing of applications, extension of interview invites, etc.

Since their confirmation email stated that interviews will begin in September and they need to allot time for travel arrangements, I think the first round of invites should be out within the next week! :xf:
 
Hi everyone,

school started last week so I wasn't able to come on here as often.

Ms. Walk did not need to send out that apology email. It was unnccessary for her to justify her actions. I appreciate what she did though because it proves how genuine people at Howard are. Now I really fell like I belong at Howard more than anywhere else. I just wish I can go to school here.

Hey..

What address did yall use?

I used the one in bold on the 2ndary and it was returned indicating "insufficient address." I'm just happy I didn't lose my cashier's check.

I'm sending this one back out certified mail. Anyone else have this happen?

Howard keeps teasing me with these e-mails! I sincerely hope that the next one in my inbox is an interview invite. Would be great if it came today too... (I know, I'm asking for the most, hehe)
 
I am with you I kind of stop focusing on it as much since i am prepraing for the two interviews I have coming up. They say when you least expect it something happens. This game has so many ups and downs. 🙂🙂🙂

Thanks, I am waiting to receive a confirmation email to determine exactly when my interview date is. They told me I had an option between 3 dates and I had to select my top 2 preferences. I have interviews flanking both of my days so its going to be hectic but I am looking forward to it.

Just received word of an interview invite! This has definitely made my day! Congrats to all of those who received them too, maybe I'll see some of ya'll in October. Good luck (fingers crossed) for those that are still waiting.
 
INVITE oh my this is amazing I am so excited now I need to calm down and breathe. I hope others are being informed as well.

CONGRATS FAITH!!!! I could see that you wanted this one a lot. That is all you need is faith the size of a mustard seed! God is good all the time! PM me sometime. What dates are you choosing between? I am asking you guys/gals the dates because I am the president of my class and would love to meet yall and come and speak to you all.
 
i choose between the 7th and the 6th. Do you know of a cheap hotel/motel and which airport is the closest and which would be the cheapest? I hope I can meet you on those dates this is my first trip to a HBC, and to Howard Is it cold in Oct in DC

:laugh::xf:Now I am recieving emails headed HOWARD Invite today i just started crying I am so amazed at how far I have come I know I am not there yet, but I still have reasons to celebrate. I hope everyone just continues to believe it will happen🙂😳😀😉😛😎🙄😍

I don't really know of any cheap places to stay in the area because I haven't really had the opportunity to get around. The closest airport is going to be DCA or reagan, it is in VA. I am sure I will have the opportunity to meet you when you interview. I have been told that it is cold in October, so just make sure you check the updates on the weather. Also, you could call and ask Ms. Walk, she can tell you the scoop on DC that time of year. I am from Los Angeles, so east coast is new to me.

You should continue to celebrate, it is not easy to get an interview here at Howard. I know for my class we had over 6,000 applications last year and Howard only interviewed about 300 of us. So this is a big accomplishment. Congrats again and see you soon! God bless!
